What do you do, do you tend to mix the families clothes in different cases so if one goes missing you have some clothes.

That sound like a brilliant idea , I've never done that . Will remember that for our next trip . Only me & DH going but it's worth doing something like that just in case.
Only hope that customs don't want to search DH case as he might get some strange looks if i put my under wear in his case too :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I have always mixed our clothes for that reason, if one case should disappear then at least everyone has clothes.

I always mix our clothing and go as far as to make sure we al have some of each item in each case. I also pack my bras and swimming stuff in my hand baggage because I would hate to have to try and find some that fit if they went missing! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Same here.Always split as it would be just my luck to loose my case:rotfl: Also put spare case inside one of the other cases-nice and light going out heavy coming back:scared1:

Having been that person standing at the carousel , desperately hoping there are another two cases to be added to that lone one going round, and round and ......:sad2:
I now always split the packing, we got the cases after 36 hours but you don't realise how much you miss not having your own stuff and that was only on a beach holiday, don't know how we would cope with a "busy" holiday

We each take a suitcase going.....then returning we make suitcases for dirties and suitcases for clean.

We have learned the hard way to take a change of clothes, toothpaste, limited amount of toiletries on the plane (of course medication as well).

we do that and if flying scheduled ,would take our jim jams and toothbrushes in the cary ons
Paulh

we don't split cases, but i have a change of clothes for each of us in the carry on bag, plus underwear, plus a pair of shorts for each, plus the swimsuits......that sounds like a lot, but it doesn't take up much room at all....

on our last trip, no one on the plane got ANY of their luggage, because they couldn't open the cargo door of the plane (a 747-400)!!!

This was in Kennedy Airport in New York. They told everyone to continue on to where they were going and the luggage would (eventually) follow. Since we'd already missed our connecting flight to Orlando (in the 2 hours we all stood around the carousel waiting for the luggage to come out), the airline whisked us over to La Guardia airport to catch the last flight to Orlando.

The luggage only arrived at our hotel (the WL) late the following afternoon, but that didn't stop us. We had everything we needed for the first day in Orlando (light clothing, swimsuit, etc.).

we always split cases on the way out :) on the way home we have clean cases and then stuff for washing ;)

Yep, we always mix our clothes as well. Well, i say we, its actually me who does all the packing.:sad2: DH usually just leaves it all to me, with the occasional, "have you packed my......." thrown in for good measure.

That is a great plan. Will have to start doing that

I always mix everything up so that we have got clothes, nappies, wipes, toiletries and a bit of everything really in each case that we take. I couldn't imagine not having a clean pair of knickers if my case went missing!
DH would need a hanky too! He goes everywhere with a hanky! :)

We mix cases too - but the one time they were delayed by a few hours we had none of them. We all at least have undies in the hand luggage in case.

I do exactly the same as you do :rotfl:

Yes always do this on the way out. don't bother on the return journey.

Also pack a change of clothes in everyones hand luggage & swimwear in the kids. That way they can hit the pool without waiting for me to unpack
