I had one of "those" days at work also but when I got home, the wife had picked up two new kitties for me to play with...

DS11 is the one handling them and he is absolutely in love with the one in his left hand named "Wildcat". The one in his right hand (on your left) with the more pronounced white moustache is named "Oreo" (of Kansas City, not to be confused with Oreo of Toronto).

Both were named before I got home from work so my suggestions -- Bert and Ernie, Starsky and Hutch, Ping and Pong, Kermit and Gonzo, Elvis and Memphis, Calvin and Hobbes, Felix and Oscar, Thunder and Lightning, and Willie and Nelson -- were not ever considered. (not really)

Sorry I missed you, Rob! I love your new kittens. I had a cat that looked just like them. His name was Buddy, and I miss him soooo much. I love the names Calvin and Hobbes and Felix and Oscar. What were they thinking naming the kitties without you? Well, they are adorable anyway.

Well, have I got a story for you guys today. This doesn't upset me in the least - in fact, it kind of makes me laugh. Yes, it's about my ex...this should put him in the running for World's Biggest Loser (or maybe his girlfriend will get the title)...

My former stepFIL stopped by my mother's house yesterday to visit her and Gram and give them a plant. Now, we're all still pretty friendly; my in-laws never did anything to hurt me, and in fact, they seem to feel very badly about how Eric has treated me. John (SFIL) and my mother got to talking. Well, it seems that Eric (my ex) and Hope (his GF), after ONE MONTH of knowing each other, are already planning to buy a larger house and have a baby (she already has 2-year-old twins from her first marriage). Not only that, but Eric's credit card balance has been steadily climbing, as he's been using it for expensive dinners out and gifts (which he did when we first got together). Remember that I got him out of credit card debt three times, the first time to the tune of $47k. I'm still paying off the 2nd time I helped, too. And now he's pushing for a commitment, which he also did to me (we were engaged after 6 weeks of dating).

His mother is worried that he's depressed - I always thought he was; he certainly showed enough signs of it, but if I ever said anything, I'd get smacked and screamed at, "I'm NOT depressed! YOU are the one with all the problems!" Depression does run in his family; one of his uncles hung himself 5 years ago and his mother is afraid he might kill himself as well, when Hope finds out what he's really like.

So there's today's drama. I have to say, I feel a bit bad for the girlfriend in all of this. Of course, I can't say anything to her...I just hope she doesn't go ahead and have his kid in the meantime. But Eric is digging quite the hole for himself, isn't he?

Okay, Liz, promise the Nutters you will never help anyone out of debt again!!!
Also, run a financial check on whomever you decide to get serious with!

This is a drive by--have an event this pm. It promises to be ill attended--one of the larger organizations in town has a day long trip planned to Massachusetts. We'll be lucky if we get 20 people (very small town)
Not only this, but the reenactor has some very erroneous info re: her character so the history buffs that do attend will be polite but I will hear about all the errors for the next month (until the June program). I am not program chair, I did not support having this person entertain--don't complain to me!

No kidding. I'll handle my own finances and that's IT. Even if I get married again I'm keeping my accounts separate! I'm just grateful that Eric never memorized my SS#.

Rob, thanks for the tip, I wont buy gasoline for the next several months. I will only drive to work and the kids to school in a goat drawn cart. I could use the horses, but then you and PJ couldn't have a laugh at my expense, so I'll go with the goats.
