Me? OMG--no apologies! I was not offended. I swear. Used to them. I do wonder how people would react if we started saying, oh say, "teacher" jokes. About how easy their jobs are or how they have so much time off....probably wouldn't go over too well.

I'm curious why people think lawyer jokes are ok. OR Polish jokes, or Jewish jokes.

I promise I was not offended though.

I DO! and I think they're pretty hilarious. What you have to remember is nurses have a warped sense of humor. It's a defense mechanism. In our job, tragedy is unfortunately, commonplace. In fact, without tragedy, we are pretty much unemployed. SOOOO, if we don't laugh, we cry. Next time you are at a hospital and see nurses at the nurses station laughing, you would assume it's because their day is going so well. I venture to guess that it's the exact opposite. Just a little inside scoop!


Too bad KevDaddy isn't here, I have a great joke for him. Come out of lurkdom, so I can offend somebody!!!!

I don't understand why I have to pay for this, when I just had a standard brake job done in March, and I didn't have any issues with burning smells and groaning sounds until after that. I feel like they either missed it or did something to it. But I already said something to them and got the run-around. As usual. Lesson learned, and I won't be going back to them for a brake job.

And I got attacked by a very vicious sprinkler system while walking into work this morning. It slobbered all over my jeans and now I'm sitting here, wet

Hi, Nutters. I'm STILL peeved over my car. I don't understand why I have to pay for this, when I just had a standard brake job done in March, and I didn't have any issues with burning smells and groaning sounds until after that. I don't want my dealer doing the work either. I've never had any luck with them. Before the car was a year old, there was a recall on the oxygen sensor, and it took them 7 months to get the part to fix it! Not to mention the clock and the antenna that also broke...minor things, but the dealer was never able to fix them. I'll find someplace else...once I pay off this $1800 bill that I'll have now.

Doing well, though. Uncle Dwight and my cousin Allison were just here. Did you see the pics I posted?

It's because most people don't like lawyers

Most people *think* they don't like lawyers. But most people don't really know too many lawyers. It's mostly perception. Simliar to perceptions of Polish people or Jewish people or any other "stereotype" of a particular group.

Things here are fine... just busy. Moms making progress, hopefully she'll be back to some independence before too much longer. Schools almost out.. which will make it harder to go to work. But that's life!

Hi, Jean! And thanks for the compliments re: my pictures. In the one of all of us, can you see the picture that's on the wall? That's Gram when she was 16. She was dating a Navy sailor at the time; he sent her photo (that particular one) to a pin-up contest and she won! We finally had the newspaper article and photo framed; that's what's on the wall. It's the original newspaper article, from 1943 - it was falling apart, so we finally had it done to preserve it.

Thank you! She really does, doesn't she? People are always commenting on how her face has no wrinkles. People think she's my mother and my mother is my sister. If Gram lives until November, she'll be 80. I don't think she really looks it. I hope I look half as good when I'm her age!

Hopefully I'm on my way - people think I'm about 18/19.
