It's a holiday here (Victoria Day Weekend) so NO WORK FOR MOI TODAY!!!!!!Unless you count house cleaning, laundry, flower planting, pool opening, window washing, etc, etc....as work!!!!!

Our dryer bit the dust last Wednesday. DH has tried to find the problem. Meanwhile, for all the clothes hanging everywhere, our house looks like a tornado went through it!
I asked DH to put up a clothesline this weekend, so he spent the time putting in our main staircase spindles--needed doing, but...

Sorry, Jean, my doctor is a female. I just hope she doesn't decide that she feels a cyst and sends me for another ultrasound. I'm not having any pain (for once) so I can't see why I'd have to.

And sorry about the dryer. Mine isn't sounding too healthy lately either. How long are they supposed to last? Mine is 6 years old. When I lived at home, Gram's dryer lasted for 25 years, no repairs.

Guten Tag!

We started out having a fun weekend. My son had a couple of his buddies over for the day Saturday, so we had lots of 12 & 13 year-old "Junior Jedi" running around. Yesterday we went with my in-laws to Dollywood. So now I have now officially acheived my two-year quota of Dolly Parton music. My son and I rode the new Mystery Mine coaster, which was a lot cooler than I thought it would be. We also rode Thunderhead (my favorite coaster there), but didn't have time to tackle Tennessee Tornado. We overate at the Old Mill restaurant - I had fried catfish. My daughter fell asleep on my shoulder (awwww) on the drive back home. A great time was had by all. Got ready for bed last night, and... Son started urping. He has had a bad cough since last week, but we had him on a run of antibiotics. We thought he had overate at dinner, and all the coughing upset his stomach enough to make him sick. I stayed up with him overnight last night, camped out in the living room. KAMommy kept him out of school (their last day is tomorrow so he's not missing much) and took him to the doctor. Diagnosis: croup. I thought the likelihood of croup went away after the kid was 3 years old or so, but I guess no. So now he's on some much stronger antibiotics, and some REALLY good cough medicine.

I got maybe two hours of sleep. My butt is dragging this morning. Today should be a slow day though.

How was the show?
Washers & dryers don't last like they used to. It seems the typical life is about 7 to 9 yrs now days. Yep, my mom bought a used Maytag in the '60's & we donated it after 15 yrs of family use--never a repair & it worked perfectly when we gave it away!
My Maytag (bought in 1998) is a pig.
Our dryer, bought for $65 @ a yard sale in 1994, has been cherry until last week.
I don't know whether to go for the Bosch/Miele/Asko route or get a 'disposeable' GE pair

I am having tummy troubles today, but other than that I'm good. Had a really nice weekend. We took the kids to the zoo with my sister, BIL and niece. How are you?

I feel a little nauseous, too. I hope it's just coming down from nerves, though. My blood pressure was 158/88, which is very high for me (normally 120/80). I was nervous and all I'd had this morning was coffee, which I'm sure didn't help.

How's your week looking? Mine's busy. Tomorrow is Brock's birthday, Wed. Emily is in a play at school in the morning and I have a dr's appt in the afternoon. Thurs. is my wedding anniversary. Sunday is Emily's birthday, and we have a bridal shower. I can't wait for things to slow down.
