Mixed Nuts Part 2

What she should have done is contact her Senator and tell them. That is inexcusable right now. And, they wonder why we have problems here. Where didn't they have a check point where there was a drivable road to Mexico?
BTW, you don't need a passport yet to drive into Mexico, but you do need a BC and DL. Sounds crazy.

I guess the point was that they don't have problems with people fleeing FROM the US TO Mexico, but vice versa. And because she hadn't intended on ending up in Mexico, she didn't have a BC on her, just her DL.

Things like this only happen to Louise...

Cheryl's right about the passport requirement for DRIVING into Mexico (or Canada) -- you don't need a passport for entry that way until the end of this year, only if you fly or boat in do you need it now.

My guess is there is no checkpoint going IN to Mexico because neither country cares if U.S. citizens want to go from the U.S. to Mexico.

I don't carry a copy of my BC with me either but then I'm far from any international borders.

I think you do need a passport now? :confused3

There is a check point...coming out of Mexico.

I already have an annual pass but as soon as I start working which is on Monday I will have an employee pass too. You're a big bully though so I'm not asking any monkey questions for you.
Yet another promise made to Rob from PJ and then broken... *sigh* :sad1:

Oh brother. You know what? Just for you I'll go ask tomorrow because that's just the kind of friend I am. Will that be soon enough for you?

I thought you were going to have to start needing a passport by the end of the year or something but you don't yet. Actually I thought you were going to need it by the end of last year but then they changed it. What do I know though.

You're going into the parks on July 4th? Are you insane? Why not just go in on Christmas Day while you're at it? :scared:

You may ask whenever, PJ. Even if it isn't until February. Thanks PJ.

You need a passport if you are FLYING or BOATING/SAILING/CRUISING into Mexico or Canada from the U.S. This went into effect 12/31/06. However, you do not need a passport yet (but will as of 12/31/07) if you are DRIVING into Mexico or Canada from the U.S.

I went on New Year's Eve too. That was someone else's idea though...*cough* Tiffer *cough* It wasn't that bad actually. And we're not going to ride anything. We're just going to have dinner at 'Ohana, watch the 4th of July fireworks and then make our way out. And if the park's filled to capacity or something we'll just watch from the beach of the Poly.

Glad someone here's up on the passport regulations.

The only park that is REALLY bad on Christmas day is MK. I saw that one reach capacity in 03 I think it was.

I LOVE MGM on NYE. it wasn't bad. PJ texts on her cell the whole time though. lol.

You're right, I didn't think about it that way.
You don't need one by boat yet either.

I deny it! I think I sent like 3 text messages the whole time we were there! And that was just because my sister texted me first. Fine, I hav a texting problem. :guilty:

Passports are only necessary by air right now. I cruised to Canada.

Um, to get TO one of the monkey ladies to ask your question, you may need to ride the Wildlife Express Train to get to Conservation Station unless you're lucky enough to run into one of the monkey ladies in the Asian section of the park (which I think is where many of the monkeys "hang" out).

Admitting you have a problem is the first step of recovery.

I don't know the other 11 steps.

When I read that part I mentally dropped the "our way" part. I'm a perv, I know...

We were there on NYE 2003 at Epcot. It was insane. The Stand-By line at Test Track was listed at 210 minutes. They had fire marshalls stationed at the entrances to each pavillion, letting 50 people out and letting 50 people in at the same time (so as not to exceed the building's occupant load). Our days in park were 12/27 through 12/31 that year - every day the parks were at capacity by 10:00 and they were turning away off-site guests.

I just got great news in an email about an hour ago. My friend, who has been in Iraq since June last year, will be back in the U.S. in about a week. The "welcome home" party is scheduled for July 28, up in Indiana.

Other good news... You know how yesterday we were eating lunch with our son, who is working part-time for us this summer. His birthday is coming up in mid-August, and he's not asked for anything yet (which is unlike him). We asked him at lunch what he REALLY wanted for his birthday, and he said a dinner at Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. We did some checking, and we're booked for a 1-bedroom at Old Key West for the week of July 30 through August 3. We'll be at Whispering Canyon on Aug. 2!!! Booo-yah! PJ, we'll be at Chef Mickey for breakfast on Aug. 3 (I think those are the dates, I'll double-check with KAMommy). This trip is a big surprise for the kids.

Fine, I have a texting problem. :guilty:
Like texting in the Vatican and getting in trouble for it?

It was probably YOU who had the cell phone light going in the cave I was in the other day, checking to see if you could get a signal for texting!!!

May I please ask on Saturday then? I forgot tomorrow is the 4th.

No way, really??
Yes, it's true, I know that's particularly hard for you of all people to believe!

Admitting you have a problem is the first step of recovery.

I don't know the other 11 steps.
Does anyone know the other 11 steps? I mean you always hear people saying that's the first step but who knows the rest?

I'm going to start having trouble distinguishing you from Roberto if you don't watch it.

We've been in WDW the past 5 years for NYE and we'll be there again this NYE. Last year was the first year I went into a park on actual NYE though. Maybe we just got lucky in going to MGM because it really just wasn't all that bad. I was there in the morning for a bit and then again in the evening for the fireworks. It was never filled to capacity.

Hey, maybe I can work breakfast that day! I'll let you know at a future date. This is waaaay too far in advance for me to plan anything.
