Misty Mate for heat relief??

It has been a while but I got mine at Sam's Club. I love those things. I used mine for years while my DD was on a competitive softball team and we spent all summer in the heat playing ball tournements. :sunny: Well worth whatever they cost but I would sure check out Wal Mart, Sam's Club anywhere else before I would play the price on the internet.

They have some on QVC today in a pkg with the cooling bandanas. Theyre not as nice, but look like they'll still do a good job (and may fit into a backpack a little better). At qvc.com, do a search for F0404. The whole thing is only $19.99.

I'm looking for cooling stuff right now, too, for our August trip. And I just left the MistMate site. I thought they were VERY expensive with all their products.

Good luck with your search!

I LOVE my MistyMate!!! I got mine several years ago at BJ's. I just bought a couple of the MistyMate Jr's at Walgreen's for 10.00 each. I read that tip on the good old Dis Boards!! I like the size of the Jr ones better, although they do not have the cover on them. I never carry much water in my big one anyway--too heavy. Good luck with the shopping!!!

We bought ours on ebay for our Disney trip last year in May and can I tell you we wouldnt have survived without it!!!!

and since then we have bought for my brother as well --just to have when out at sporting events, etc

I highly recommend them---

I don't mean to sound stupid, but why don't you just get a fan with the bottle attached???? I bought mine from the Disney store by my house for
$ 7.50!!! It works great too! Is the misty thing really worth an extra $70.00??????? :confused3

Actually...like OP said that it was waaaay too expensive and I am waaay too much of a cheapskate to pay $70 for the Mistymate. However the second link was to a boaters website that had the same one for $25.99. That didn't sound too bad. I do have the fan waterbottles and they do take batteries. Just thought I would ask opinions and see what kind of experiences people have had with the MistyMate. Sounds like overall it is pretty positive and I will probably but one. Thanks for everyones feedback

I just ordered this set and got a note on my door yesterday from FedEx... I can't wait to actually get them and see how they work. I read about them here and after reading that people were finding them at WalMart I decided to step foot in the place and didn't find them anywhere... so I ordered them from QVC. I don't think I'll put that bandana thing around my neck though!!! hehehe

We just bought the fans with the mister bottle for my kids who were 2 & 3 last year and they worked great for keeping them cool and refreshed without costing us an arm and leg.

Wow Great price!! I swear by mine and will not go anywhere outdoors when it is hot and humid without it!! Cools you right down and works great!!! :cool1:

I HIGHLY recommend the Misty Mate. We've done WDW the last 2 times in June/July and they are worth their weight in GOLD, lol!

We fill ours with ice and a little water from the resort just before leaving in the morning. The fine water mist is just sooooooo wonderful during the hot day. We had a lot of folks ask us if we wouldn't mind giving their kiddos a little spray with it to help their kids cool off a bit.

I found mine at Walmart. I have our original one that has lasted us 5 years so far and another brand new one that I picked up on clearance last winter. They are in the back of the store near the paint/auto/lightbulb/flashlight/wallpaper section. Just browse those aisles and you'll wind up finding it. I think the regular price last year was somewhere in the 20-25 range.

We attach ours to the stroller, but it does come with straps to put it wherever you like. I think you could easily attach it to a belt or to a fanny pack/backpack easily.

I picked mine up a few years ago at Walgreens - many many years ago!! We also kept ice in ours, the only thing is it does get heavy, so we dont always carry it - we got a fan/water bottle too -

I will say the misty mate gives less "water" in your face than the spray bottle effect - but the spray bottle isnt as heavy, the misty mate has a shoulder strap that you can sling over your shoulder ...

I just bought one at walmart today for $13.99. I've had the little ones and they didn't seem to last too long. I'm hoping we can strap this big one to the stroller.
