Mistake you will not repeat next time...

These, by the way, are all opinions. Some I agree with, some I don't. We have gone the first two weeks in December, every year since 2001, and I wouldn't miss it! It's a greatr time to go in my opinion. But that's just MY opinion. We go other times too, but Christmas is my favorite.

I will never again stay in the 2000 camping loop over the Christmas holiday (or any other time for that matter). To many screaming children running amuck with little to no parental supervision. It would start at first light and continue until after 10:00pm. Then the parents would start up with loud talking and laughing (and I assume drinking) until about 1:00am. It was a complete disregard for other campers staying there. Never again!

When we went to Disney World earlier this month we were super prepared and had the best time of our lives.

One of the things I wanted to do was try a Dole Whip the first day we were at MK. Didn't happen. Second time there... Didn't happen. Third time at MK... Didn't happen. On the last day (4th time at MK) I told my wife that trying a Dole Whip was a priority and it was going to happen.

Well I did get that Dole Whip. I had a taste, my two boys had a taste, my wife had a taste. That Dole Whip was devoured like we were cave people eating a turkey leg!!!! It was Awesome!!!

I wish we would have tried one on day 1!!!!! If we had I can guarantee that the snack credits would have been used up way before our last day at the parks. So next time we go and have the opportunity to try something new earlier in the week we will!

First thing on the agenda next December when we go back is hitting up the Dole Whip stand!

I tried it when my family and friends with me. My friend and I went to get some and I didn't try it at first, but seeing him eat it I was curious to what it tasted like. So later that day, my aunt bought one, and I took a spoonful I loved it so much. It's on my to get list at MK when I go there next time.

Oh for Pete's sake!!

Just got the "Commando" thing..

I'm like, 'Huh.. Must be a Disney veteren thing.. No wonder they're getting chafed!'.

D'oy! LOLOLOLOL

2. I know...I know....but - We will never go WITHOUT the Dining Plan. . Our past trip was our first without it and it just stressed me out WAAAYYY to much. Maybe we saved some $$$ - but our kids are big eaters so sharing sounded good on paper, but was an epic fail in the Parks. We ate off property a few meals to save some $$$. For the little it saved us, we lost a lot in Park time. I am one of the people Disney had in mind when they created the Dining Plan - don't care about the $ for $ return - The idea that our food is paid for...priceless.

Pretty much is my thinking, going in.. 6 more days!!! :)

Our biggest mistake was doing the DLX dinning with a party of 7 to 12.

It took FOREVER to get our tables and the tips on all of that food was just over the top!

Plus it was just way too much food for us!

Hub turn left into Adventureland, aloha isle is ahead and to the right.

NO it's not ice cream. It's a "soft serve dessert". Google "dole whip precision foods" to find the ingredients.

And to me it tastes like what I imagine melted, pineapple-flavored plastic, would taste like.

Yes, exactly! I was beginning to wonder what was so different about my taste buds since almost everyone else raves about the Dole Whips.

Oh great! Thank you so much :-) cant wait!

No problem I'm not keen but DH loves them. I get a coke float we love to get drinks there and sit and people watch in the covered patio area further round on the right from aloha isle.

No idea where you would buy the mix from though

Oh coke float yum!

We supprised our 5 year old by picking her up from kindergarten just before lunch. She is now 25 and still remembers that she missed "making Leprecaun Soup" that day:lmao: Just goes to show you with kids the little things are just as important as the big things. One of the older travel guides interviewed 4 or 5 year olds and their most common response to what their favorite attraction was at Disney was the resort pools and the Disney buses!:drive:

Haha-on our first trip my youngest son was 4 and rode very little. Leaving the parks on the last day he was incredibly pouty because he didn't get to ride what he wanted to...what was that you ask....well we used Disney transportation so never had the need to use the parking lot trams-he was heartbroken!

Oh, that's terrible! My kids LOVE the water rides, but my wife vehemently opposes them....based on the logic of exactly what happened to you!

I told my kids that I would ride anything with them but was very clear about Splash Mountain and Kali...if we are planning to ride them, we are taking extra clothes...underwear\socks\shorts\shirts with us. AND...it has to be above 80 degrees.

Had the same issue-denim jeans, chubby things rubbing....purchased a bottle of baby powder which helped the rest of the trip...but i was chapped

We just got back and here were our mistakes:

1. not packing for all weather conditions. Last January when we went it was 70 all week and we wore jeans and tshirts or sweatshirts. Last week, it was cold for a few days and the last 3 were all 80s and humid and of course I hadn't brought any shorts with me.

2. traveling with people who have done no planning and just say they will go along with whatever we do. They did not want to vacation the way we do and there were a few tense situations.

3. plan 0 rest days on our trip. next time I think we'll go for 10-11 days and take some days off from parks. Got home last night and now I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation.

Neve again will I wait an extra hour for window seat at Narcoossees. We wanted a window seat so my grandma could see the fireworks. As soon as they started, everyone without window seat went out on the patio and blocked her view. When I went out and politely asked them to take a few steps to the side so my wheelchair-bound grandma could see the fireworks they gave me a dirty look and refused to move. My grandma didn't mind, but I was nearly in tears.

Some people are absolutly heartless. And, no, I don't want to hear about "how much you paid for this trip just like I did". Find your humanity!!! :sad1:

Sometimes it really is the people that can take the magic out of the moment. We waited an extra hour past out reservation for that seat. Honestly, if you're gonna wait that long to eat (this was a 10 pm wishes) I really don't think they should let people out on that little veranda to watch the fireworks.
