Yeah. Thats what we get for winging it our last day. :rotfl:

Originally we were going to eat bfast at 10 Kona, the to EPCOT, then over to AK and back to DTD for WPE for dinner.

BUT we stayed at MK the night before till 1 (had a blast) and after our breakfast went back to bed. Then we went to AK to see the Jingle Jungle Parade, and planned to go to EPCOT to do the pick a pearl when the issues started.

It all worked out, but still could have been better. I wanna find the CM who pointed to the TTC bus though. And tell him he needs to read the DIS. :rotfl:

I think that's a great attitude, and I'm sorry a CM steered you wrong. :goodvibes

It happens. We had a magical vacation. Cms are people that make mistakes too. It didn't ruin our night.

I will never again ride Kali River Rapids while wearing shorts.

On our last trip, we rode Kali for the first time on our arrival day. I was the "lucky one" who took the full brunt of the water and walked away completely drenched. Walking around AK with soaking wet cotton shorts caused friction burns on my inner thighs (where the material bunched up from being wet).

I ended up with nasty "rub burns" on my inner thighs, to the point where they bled. It really did ruin our vacation because I was in so much pain trying to walk and all my shorts made it worse. I ended up wearing my 1 pair of yoga pants the rest of the trip in 90+ degree heat because it was the only thing that didn't seriously rub the sores. I tried aloe, mole skin (area was too large) and Body Glide. Nothing helped, the damage was already done (I ended up with nasty scabs a few days later).

Never again!!! Kali may be fun, but it's so not worth going through that again!

Oh, that's terrible! My kids LOVE the water rides, but my wife vehemently opposes them....based on the logic of exactly what happened to you!

I told my kids that I would ride anything with them but was very clear about Splash Mountain and Kali...if we are planning to ride them, we are taking extra clothes...underwear\socks\shorts\shirts with us. AND...it has to be above 80 degrees.

You sound like my hubby. He ate them daily on our trip (we stayed at the Poly, so they were easily accessible! LOL!)

I wouldn't say that we ever made any mistake that really ruined our vacation or anything like that but over the years there certainly have been little things that we do differently based on past experiences.

I'd say the one bigger mistake we made early on that we now no longer do is to return from our Disney vacation the day before we return to work. Now we typically return home with a couple days left before resuming work.:wizard:

One mistake we never repeat now is hiring a car from the airport and not using the ME on arrival day. Not anymore! We fly from the UK so very tired when we arrive. Now we get the ME and use Alamo, you can phone them the next day and they pick you up and take you to the disney car centre to pick up your rental car. No driving when tired!

Our mistake that we finally got sorted was "Don't take an evening flight back home". We would usually do a 6:00pm flight to maximize time on the last day, only to forget about those late afternoon summer thunderstorms that happen EVERY DAY and delay the flights. Last time we took a noon flight...much better!

We like to take the noon flight home, too. The one time we took the evening flight it was a cold and rainy day. What a mistake that was!

Never going when Florida schools are out for a long weekend during F&W.

Doing the dining plan with a family of 8(soon to be 9). The last time we did it was SOOO stressful. Mostly the quick service is just too much with a large family. We find it SO much more fun to just stay somewhere with a kitchen and bring sandwiches into the parks and find a nice quiet bench somewhere to eat in peace. This leaves more money for snacks.

Disney food sucks anyway.

All interesting, all families, situations, and priorities are different. Just chill and have a great time. Just don' t go commando with little kids. Major meltdowns sap everyone. YOU are the adult, make adult decisions.

I make sure if I am going to be getting wet on a ride I wear those quick dry shorts and NO JEAN Shorts!!!!
