Missoni for Target

it says until mid october. will they be releasing stuff periodically throughout?

No replenishing. Once it's gone, it's gone.

I liked the look of the Missoni collection. By the time I hit my Target store, most of it was sold out. I purchased the suede pumps, a couple pairs of socks, a printed t-shirt, and a large glass vase.

In the past, the Target collaboration with high end designers has been hit and miss. I really liked the Liberty collection. But I thought the Mulberry collection was of poor quality. For me, it is a rare opportunity to purchase merchandise created by high end designers while still sticking to my budget.

I can't believe how quickly this stuff went....

I'm not interested in purchasing any just surprised at all the commotion.

Oh my gosh! I never saw such a zoo at Target or any store! Even on Black Friday! I was there at 8:10. Wanted a coat for me and DD, shoes and a suitcase. The cashiers stood in the aisle in amazement as people tossed ARMLOADS of stuff into their carts and ran around the store! I saw women snatc things from eachother. A woman hit me with her cart trying to block me from the shoes. A friend said the cops had to break up a fight in her Target at the shoe dept!
Before 9, the shelves were bare. I got my shoes. No suitcase (they are now twice retail on eBay) and I got the coats online after 8pm Tuesday night. Unbelieveable!

There was an ad in our local newspaper this morning that they are restocking.

I also shared this on the Community Board. My brother works for Target Corp in MN. He said they projected $3 million in first week sales & as of yesterday it was $10 million. He then called me later to clarify that number was JUST the ready to wear items, so that figure doesn't include suitcases, home items, etc. He said the buyers were scrambling to see if they could get more in stock. He said it was craziness at work yesterday!

my husband also works at Target, but he did not work when the line started selling but his friends said that people were grabbing things out of the Team Members hands before they could even get them out of the shipping boxes. It was a mad house, personally I really don't like the line, it all looks like like it came straight off of a b-rated 60's movie set, but that is my opinion and I will not say anything bad about anyone who likes the line. If you do like the line and want to try to catch some of the items stay calm and remember there is bound to be another truck with the items you want coming sometime between now and Oct.22 so keep play nice lol.

I was in Target today too (Waterford, CT) & there were a few things left for adults but a ton of stuff for kids.

Plus there were some housewares. One of the employees said to someone looking at it "you better get it before it is gone."

As I was checking out, a lady had a few items. She asked the check out clerk if there were better things then what she had. The lady said no I think just to be nice. Then she said it's not my style & I agreed with the check out lady.

The lady that was buying said she didn't really like it. Then why are you buying it? I said everyone will be wearing the same outfits in the next few weeks. She said "it will make a great beach cover up if I don't decide to wear it with jeans."

It's not my style either. I don't really go for the 60s Mod Style stuff/prints. I'm not big into Pucci for the same reasons. Would have been nice to be able to see it in person though. I had to go to Target today to pick up some other stuff and the Missoni stuff was all gone.

The Karl Lagerfeld line from Macy's that debuted a few weeks ago is more my thing. And the Banana Republic Mad Men collection.

I find it so amusing to read how so many people came on to post how its not there style or how ugly they thought it was. A little mean spirited I think. Trust that many on this board read about what some members are buying and you don't see us posting how cheap or tacky it is. Just an observation on my part.. I mean if you don't like it thats ok don't buy it or wear it. But I don't see the need to knock it. Either way it means more for us who want it. I guess.

On anothe note I found it even more suprising that there are all these actors and other notables complaing because they couldn't get what they wanted. yet they can most probably afford regularly prices pieces. I know I will keep my eyes out for the items I wanted and unfortunaly or fortunatly depending on how you look at it I'll break down and buy off ebay. I guess its good to know that if I can't find it in a store I can still find it lol.

I also don't really knock the ebayers. I didn't get into a store until 3pm and from what the target employees said people were waiting outside before opening and the racks were clear within minutes. Honestly I wouldn't have been waiting outside and I know I'm not going to fight with a mob for anything. So I guess its a case of early bird getting the worm.

At my local target they put up a sign saying they will not be restocking. So if your local store says otherwise you are lucky.

My search continues.

Just shoot me I missed the Lagerfild at Macy's so sad. I don't love Banana. I think I'm biased. I remember when they were more of a expadition clothing outfitter and I loved there clothes since it fed my childhood sense of adventure.

Goodness gracious!!!
Hundreds of dollars on ebay for clothes bought at Target?
:rotfl:

Who says we're on recession?

Had no idea this was going on till yesterday and there was something about it on the news on TV...so I went to the local Target and found all this stuff with zig-zags on it.
Ladies boots, tops, plates, and a bunch of other stuff. There were 2 ladies so excited that they had the boots in their sizes, and while I can't wear pull on boots(extra high arch...) I did think the colors would hide dirt quite well.
The plates were in stacks on an endcap, at least 2 dozen of several sizes/designs.
This was at the Azalea Square store in Summerville, SC...in case anyone wants or needs to call them for something.
Best of luck....

I used to love Banana republic back when everything the sold was khaki. It was as close as I ever would come to going on an adventure. ;)

As to your prior post, I don't think the Target Missoni line is ugly, it's just that while it may have a similar esthetic, but without the Missoni quality I just wouldn't pay this kind of money for it (I mean e-bay).

I'd agree its going to be a hard pill to swallow but I was looking today and many things are going for almost what they would have cost if I had paid shipping from target directly so who knows if I don't find what I want in the stores I may go ebay. But not for rediculous overpricing lol. I'm not sure how I'm rationalizing this as being acceptable but honestly some of the pieces are really cute. Like the shoes they were leather upper and lower and for under $50 thats a good deal in my book.

I really didn't think anyone was being rude about it. Just opinions is how I'd read it. I think the dresses would be too short on me, but I would love the black and white coat. I'm not going to run someone down with a shopping cart for one, but I thought it was fun. Okay, maybe a little tap, but definitely wouldn't knock them down. Unless the area was carpeted......

what makes this different is the print. many fashion companies have their signature print trademarked and would never put it on lesser items. its like gucci doing a line for target complete with Gs, stripes, and bamboo. that would create a crowd too. i was upset that i won't get to target until tomorrow and it will all be gone, but i can live without the stuff and it saves me $.:confused3 also sometimes people buy it up, get remorse, and return the stuff. i have seen this happen and gotten the items on the clearance rack.
