Missoni for Target

I got lucky this weekend. I had not known about Missoni until this weekend so I went to take a look. Almost everything was gone however I think people were returning things and I found a few things I liked. I got the light blue zig-zag knit dress

and the matching cardigan

plus 2 tumblers in the same print.

Then I walked around a little more and found the weekender bag with the same color scheme but slightly different desgin and got that too.

I think that's enough and nope, not going to wear them all together, lol.

I bought the same cardigan and sweater dress!!! I can't wait til they get here.

If anyone finds scarves or headbands, snatch them! And if you don't want them, let me know, especially the brown skinny scarf.

I have to admit that I find this thought process interesting. You do realize that lots of Ebayers are just regular people trying to make a few extra bucks to survive in this economy?

Just out of curiosity, do you feel the same way about ticket resellers and brokers? I don't think people who are trying to 'survive' in this economy are going to stores and buying hundreds of dollars worth of stuff in order to relist on ebay for a profit.

That is one of the 2 dresses (the other's tag actually says "tunic"), my 5 year old went nuts over. You two will be "rockin" the same dress!

I dont' think we can really judge what someone else does or needs to do to survive in this economy. I've seen women spend every last cent on a shopping trip only to regret it later. So I don't doubt that there are people out there who would spend every last cent on a product line in hopes to make more off it later. Honestly I say live and let live. I think in reality due to the demand for the merchandise if Ebayers didnt' pick it up other consumers would have.

The only adult clothing item in my store, other than underwear items, was a blue maxi dress which I didn't even pick up since I didn't care for the style. That seems to be the item on ebay which is still selling! I just looked over there and those dresses seem to be the main things with bids! I think the hysteria is fizzling out.

I don't doubt that there are some people out there who do that, even if they don't really have the wiggle-room in terms of extra spending money. My own s/o lurks on SlickDeals looking for the occasional stand-out deal that he might be able to make a few bucks on through Craigslist later (which I do not support), but like majority of the people like him who track trends/deals and participate in the occassional reselling, he does it because he can afford to, not because he needs it to survive. It is a gamble, because there is not always a guarantee you will turn a profit, there is no guarantee the highest bidder will follow through with payment, and there is a huge element to the cost upfront that has to be made to obtain the products for sale.

IMO, I can understand why some people have a certain way of thinking when it comes to not wanting to pay more than MSRP to eBay resellers. The eBay market is saturated with resellers, and a huge portion of them are doing it as a successful form of business. It's a business that has been going on for years even before the economy burst. They know how to follow trends, seek out the product, and resell. To some it's a hobby, to others it's their jobs. That's why they had to come up with new tax rules for PayPal, etc. -- too many people were reselling on the internet and not paying income tax on their profits. And when you have thousands and thousands of even the average Joe reseller buying up something due to a viral internet deal alert, making it difficult to impossible to obtain something, it can leave a bad taste in your average consumer's mouth. It's not something that can be easily controlled or stopped, except for strictly enforced quantity purchase limits; and even with these measures, people sure do get around them.

Do I personally have a problem with the reseller market? No. After all, the retail industry is all about buying at cost and marketing to the masses for a profit. Do I understand why someone would view resellers (who buy up limited-quantity in-demand products and resell for much higher than MSRP) in a negative light and not want to pay them the extra money for the product they are selling on eBay? Yes. It's all subjective, so there is no right or wrong answer. It's all about personal perspective.

Not a single one blah its driving me crazy. Oh well all I can do is wait. At least I haven't received a cancelation right.

I was laid off a few years back and made a living selling bras I found at a thrift store and Nintendo Wiis. I would buy them with my American Express, sell them on eBay and have the money PLUS by the time the bill came in.

It's simple economics, supply and demand. The buyers set the market, NOT the sellers. No one would buy these items if there was no market.

I do think some of these eBayers are sorry now because the items aren't selling like they expected. No problem, Target has a good return policy and then they'll be back on the racks for the "non" greedy people. My store had LOTS of stuff, I think all returns.

Yes, seriously.

The thrift store got a donation from a company that went out of business. They would sell a lot to me for a set price and I'd resell them.

As of now there are over 12,000 bras and bra sets on ebay that are pre-owned. I did sell only nwt but there are lots of "used" that are sold.

I resold on ebay when ebay first started. It was a lot of work but it paid my rent through college. However reselling was a very different culture then. It was far less scummy and very easy to do with out attracting a lot of attention. Now so many resellers are loud and rude to other customers and staff that it gives the whole thing a bad name.

I've been selling since 2003. The only difference I've found is the fees and the feedback controversy. I don't have any dealings with the resellers, I just work my own business. I end all my sales on Sunday and every Monday I get "paid"!! It works for me, and YES, it's a LOT of work, but it beats a part time job.

I was only able to secure the brown zig zag dress at my store. I missed out on all of the frenzy and found the dress on Wednesday. It's very cute, especially paired with brown tights and heels. I plan to also pair it with a mock turtleneck, or a white button down shirt when it's colder and boots/booties. I will check back with my local stores in a few weeks to see if anything else pops back as I have no plans to pay the inflated Ebay prices.

I'm actually making an effort not to go check the racks lol. I spent a pretty penny already as beautiful as it all is I must have some restrant. I'm still waiting for a shipping confirmation.
