Missoni for Target

People don't really believe they are getting the same thing they would buy at Saks or Nordstrom, do they?

I don't think so. I think most Target people know what they are getting. Like I said there are a couple cute things I would like as accents. Really hope to come across the swimsuits though to wear around our pool.

LOL! NO thank you!

A scarf? Maybe. A pair of afghan looking pants? NO! LOL!

I'm waaaay too fat for anything with a horizontal pattern. I did like the flats, though. Totally agree with '70s afghan comment.

Was able to get the two pieces I was eyeing before the site crashed at 5am. Understand the stores sold out in 10-15 minutes. This line has gotten so much buzz....big spread in Vogue, commercials, lots of press....that the entire line will sell out. People were waiting in line at the pop up store in Manhattan during Fashion Week for 2- 3 hours.

I actually thought that everything I saw was well made. Certainly not couture but you are not paying thousands of dollars for it either.

Target clearly has a winner with this one.

Some of their other brands (Mossimo, etc.) seem to be better constructed. JMO.

I saw an Infinity Missoni scarf advertised a few times in magazines and I would have liked that--I thought it was cute. Otherwise, not interested.

As for the Kardashian line at Sears, the heck with them. I'm holding out for the BIG unveiling: the J.Lo line at Kohl's.

I have no clue why it is such a big deal but I was in Target earlier and someone in front of me was buying something in this line and the cashier said she was surprised there was anything left as they were swarmed in the AM when they opened. She didn't get the rush as she said they would continue to receive items/restock so it's not like today is the only day it will be available.

I read this thread before heading to Target this morning - so I wasn't surprised to see long lines at the registers.

Our store (in L.A. County) was busy, but still seemed to have a fair amount of the clothing left. Some of the housewares, etc seemed to be mostly gone - at least I'm guessing that's what was there by the zig-zag backing on the empty display shelves. The cashier said they'd gotten a LOT of merchandise in.

I did have to laugh at the travel pillow and eye mask thingies.....:lmao:

ETA: I laughed when I read the Kardashian comment earlier in this thread....I thought it was a joke. But I just saw a Sear's commercial featuring them! :lmao:

Part of the appeal of a designer label is that very few people will have the same outfit as you. Seems like buying a "designer" at Target kind of defeats this purpose. I am envisioning lots of afghan pants at the supermarket and on the soccer field.

I haven't seen any of the items but I would assume the quality and construction is not the same as the high end line.

I really don't care for the look of those clothes but it seems a lot of people do.

Unfortunately for J.Lo they already have Daisy Fuentes' line. Maybe it will be J.Lo at JCP?

It was like Black Friday at our area Targets this morning. I didn't go but a girlfriend did.

It's definitely a matter of preference as to whether you like it or not. Some do. Some don't.

In defense of those who went nuts this morning, it's an exclusive line in limited quantity by their favorite designer. Of course their going to jump on it. I don't think anyone is trying to fool anyone into thinking they're really wearing a well-made expensive item. It's the exclusivity of it that is attractive.Sure, there might be millions of them sold across the country. But once they're gone, they're gone so there's always going to be a market (and after-market) audience for it.

If Disney made a line of exclusive Disney princess dresses that were only available at Toys R Us for 30 days, you can bet there would be a lot of people storming the door at 8 am to get one! Even if they're over-priced and cheaply made.

I really want one of the pairs of flats- I didn't realize it was going to be this popular, though. Guess I won't be walking into the store and buying them friday evening like I planned on doing

Love the Missoni line but I've been needing to order something from Target's website and today is not the day to do it. I haven't been able to get on it at all!

The J. Lo line is already out at our Kohl's. Just saw it this weekend.

And just like I expected, it's totally impractical and I don't see it going over well here in WI. :lmao:

Yeah, I saw the ad this past weekend with it coming out in our store on 9/14. It doesn't look overly practical for our area either.

I just got back from target. didn't go for this, went for soccer socks for my son, but thought I would check it out. tons of kids stuff, some ladies stuff, and some home stuff left. not my style, just not into, but had to check it out after reading here about it this morning. and I'll admit there was a part of me that tried to get excited about it since everyone else seems to be. couldn't quite get there, though.

part of me did want to grab a few pieces left in our ladies section, though, to sell. are people really buying it on ebay???
