Missoni for Target

I think some of the accessories are really cute, I love funky hats, scarves, socks, etc. I'll admit it, there's no way I could pull off the whole look though, I think you have to be 6' and 95 pounds to do that.

Just curious though, how many of you who think that's an ugly look also think that wearing a fanny pack makes you look super cool? Or an entire family with matching t-shirts for every day of your vacation? It's all personal taste, just because it's "fugly" to one person doesn't mean it is to another.

Well, actually, I happen to think fanny packs and crocs are ugly and custom shirts on vacation are ridiculous.

:thumbsup2 ... black knee socks with white tennis shoes is equally horrible too . Custom shirts on a two year old is adorable lol, but not on a 45 year old couple . : )

The site has been down since last night. I tried to go online for something not even related to this around 9pm and it was down.

Me, too. ::yes:: I know some people love the custom shirts, but I don't know of a soul who thinks a butt pack (sorry, spent to much time in England to call it a fanny pack:rotfl2:) looks "super cool". People knowingly choose function over fashion when they use them.

I am with those who are reminded by some of the Missoni pieces of old afghans and the 70's. I also don't like the jumbled look of a bunch of the pieces together, but I do like some of the pieces on their own, especially accent pieces.

Everyone has different taste, and personally I think that is great! Everyone is also entitled to their own opinion, which is also great. What I don't understand, however, is why people feel the need to be rude. If you don't like something, by all means avoid it or feel free to say so, but there is a difference between expressing your opinion and just being *****y for the sake of being *****y. I admit I don't frequent the community board very often, so maybe this is normal?

You think it's ok for people to have different tastes and opinions but you don't want the hear them? Is that it?

I'd hate to accused of being rude or ****** but that's what it sounds like to me.

For me I expressed my opinion out of shock that there was such a huge run on this merchandise.

You are absolutely entitled to say that you don't like something but some of the responses from both sides of the coin have been not very nice, I wasn't calling anyone out personally until you just called yourself out. Yes, your response here is defensive and rude.

I don't like arguing on the Internet, it's essentially pointless. It's very easy to sit behind a computer screen and type whatever you feel like saying because there is no fear of repercussion from hurting some stranger's feelings. It's too easy to feel high and mighty to people you will essentially never meet. I have decided that I am in the camp of "people just need to be nicer to one another". Personally, I don't care what anyone wants to wear as long as it isn't outright offensive, (racist, profane, or near indecent nudity that my kid has to see), and I don't want to call people out for being tacky or tasteless because at the end of the day it just flat out doesn't effect me.

I am guilty as anyone else of being occasionally rude here on the Dis, bur I have realized that it gets me nowhere and just wastes time. I am now trying to just be nicer in general.

Crocs are ugly. But I don't wear them for fashion...or spend big bucks on them.

Hey! Thanks for that! :rotfl: Hope you feel better now that you got that off your chest. :lmao:

If you are the designer of the collection then I apologize for hurting your feelings and saying that your collection is ugly. That was not very tactful of me. If not, then I really think you are being oversensitive.

I was interested in something else online at Target yesterday and didn't know why the site was down - then read about it online - wow.

About 7 pm last night was in our store and there was quite a bit left. Never thought of Ebay. At least f I had grabbed a few things, it would have been late in the day and people who really wanted it would have had a chance.:)

The stuff is cute, but not for me.

Both of those just has me :rotfl:.

I think the real stuff can be very nice if wore in small doses. With the Target stuff I think the accessories are ok and could be cute with the right outfit but I don't understand running out and knocking people over to buy any of it.

::yes:: :thumbsup2:sad2:

I think that's my mother and two of her friends at a fondue party.

:rotfl:

Somewhere, off to the side and just out of camera range, their drunken friend is swinging from a pole lamp and will continue to do so until she wrenches it loose from the ceiling. Once she is on the ground, with her legs all akimbo, her "day of the week" panties will flash the cool party people, the soberest of whom will exclaim......."Hey, it's not Tuesday!" :hippie:

All the Missoni news caused my dh call me up last night to tell me that a certain tie he has is Missoni. It was purchased at Nordstrom and is a few years old, but he still gets compliments on it. The fabric looks 10,000 times richer and more interesting than what they were showing in pictures and on TV this morning for the Target line.

All the hoopla had me check out target.com today. With all that is left I could dress in a Missoni thong and a groovy shirt. Somehow I don't think that is the kind of brand recognition Missoni is looking for. :lmao:

Too much zig zagging for me but I do like the gloves, scarves and hat - I love me some Winter stuff :goodvibes

Yesterday I tried their site and got the dog telling me that something was wrong - no clue the Missoni stuff was out....I just wanted a Kleenex sample :lmao:

I just read this thread...all I keep picturing is entire towns of people dressed alike in this designer/style....like Missoni Stepford wives, lol. Not slamming the designer, just the fact that all this merchandise is now out if the store and with the public. I missed all the hoople, had no idea it was going on...guess it was like a Black Friday, huh?

I went over to Target yesterday to pick up a pair of the ballet flats for a friend of mine whose car was in the shop (she's a shoe size 6 so it wasn't hard to find her shoes!). I ended up buying the rubber boots for myself... I think they're cute and they'll look nice with my brown rain coat when I'm splashing in puddles with my toddler all winter. :rotfl:

I think some of the accent pieces are really cute, but I can't quite understand the mania over it all.
