Well, I am sort of a ride wimp (love BTM but hate Space Mountain; love EE but refuse to ride RnR) but I absolutely love Mission Space! I wish they'd make a Red version.
The basic principle of the ride is it's a simulator. But instead of just up, down, and tipping side to side, this simulator has an added dimension. Imagine riding Cinderella's Golden Carrousel. Now take the horses and turn them so they face in toward the center of the ride. Turn the horses into seats, then speed the ride up about 20 times. Now, you know what happens when you put a penny on a top and spin the top? The penny flies off, right? Same principle, only you're held firmly in place. The spinning motion pushes you back into your seat so that you 'feel' the G-forces of the shuttle launch. Now, no part of the ride is open, so unless you have an ear infection or are sensitive, you won't even be able to tell that you're spinning; you'll just feel the G's. And man, is it awesome! It feels very real!
The green side is completely the same, only WITHOUT the spinning. No spinning= no extra G's. I was actually pleasantly surprised with how good it was; the only time I really missed the G's was the slingshot around the moon. That part of the green ride was terrible, but if you never rode Orange you'd never miss it.
Now, the first week it was open, Mission Space was perfectly calibrated; not one bit of dizziness at all. Now, it's slightly off and I can feel the difference. I'm never dizzy but I feel like I do when I go up into a handstand; just the tiniest bit off, but it's never enough to deter me. I could ride it all day! The only one in my family who doesn't like it is my mom, but she freaks out on Dumbo!
