Mission Space: Pleasant or Unpleasant

For me who was so scared last Oct'04 to get on it survived the ride. Potsie on the other hand who was so eager to ride Mission space said she thought she almost died! She had to go back to the hotel to rest..world was spiining faster than it should as what Potsie said ... Me ?? I was fine ! But no big meal before riding K!

"Unpleasant" would be a masterpiece of understatement for me. I didn't know whether I was going to puke, pass out, poop my pants, or die - and dying would have been preferable! There was cold sweat dripping off my nose and I was shaking so bad I couldn't get out of the vehicle. An extreme reaction, I know, but there isn't enough money in the world to make me ride that again!

I would have to go with unpleasant. I had a terrible headache after riding. I'll be there again in 3 months and haven't decided if I'll try it again or not.

While I was at WDW the last couple of weeks and went on MS for the first time. I was worried because I kept reading posts on here about people getting sick during and after the ride. I went on it probably 10 times while I was there and loved it. I never felt ill or anything like that. I even looked around a couple of times and that didn't do anything either.

The Bubster has no issues with motion sickness, and absolutely adores this ride. Me, well, I have to say I'm happy I Dramamined up and went on it once. It really is a neat concept. However, even with the meds I was feeling a bit woogie in the stomach by ride's end. In future, I'll just sit outside and wait while he rides.

Very unpleasant for me. I purposely didn't eat anything that morning before the ride. Glad I didn't and especially my ride capsule mates were glad I didn't either. Lets just say dry heaves, cold sweats, etc.

At this time two years ago our family was having a great time at Disneyland. At the time our youngest DD was 7...she kept describing the rides as "pleasant" or "unpleasant." Soarin' Over California was pleasant. It's Tough to be a Bug was unpleasant.

So tell me: Is Mission Space pleasant or unpleasant?

For me it is unpleasant. I have rode it twice and both times I did not find it to be pleasant.

My husband on the other hand finds this ride very pleasant and cannot wait to ride Mission Space again.

I just about had my first (and only!) panic attack on MS. I got extremely claustrophobic when the door shut and the brace came down over my head. I hate that feeling of not being able to move. The compartment is very small and I felt "locked" in. I actually tried to get out before it started. I said outloud in a calm voice that I wanted to exit the ride, but NO ONE could hear me. My 5 year old daughter was with me, so it took everything I had to remain calm and PRETEND it was fun. I was so happy that the "trip to Mars" was one-way! My DH went on after us, and I didn't want to scare him off so I tried to act like it was okay. He got motion sickness. We love Rock-n-Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, etc. but Mission Space...Never Again!

This is the only ride at Disney that I will not ride again. I have never had any problems with rides of any sort until this one. I know that they tell you to just watch the screen. Well, I kept my eyes open the whole time and still had a hard time getting off the ride.

This ride just makes you feel really weird. I spent the next half hour in the mist machine trying to cool of and get rid of the weirdness.

Hubby and I did it in Feb. We both agreed it was a very cool ride, but one we would only do once a trip. By the end of the ride I was in a cold sweat, and felt "off" for the next hour or so - definitly didn't want to go on any other rides for awhile (or eat...).

It is a very cool experience though, so I'm very glad we did it - I would probably do it at the end of the day next time though (it was the first ride we went on that day, and decided to do Test Track the following trip).

On a side note - I'm a very "Pooh" sized female, plus I'm six feet tall. I didn't have any problems with the seats - found it pretty comfortable. Test track however was a different story - my knees were pressed into the back of the seat in front of me, and the seats were tight.

Pleasant for DH and DD. Unpleasant for me. It wasn't terrible; it's just that I felt really weird for a while afterward. It's hard to explain.

I agree! I love all rides, but I felt really weird for about an hour after I rode it. It was cool, but I left saying.... I will never ride that one again!

It gives me the feeling you would get if you'd been playing playstation all day long!!!! Quite unpleasant & woosy!!

Can't speak for myself, but my DD (age 13 now)went on this ride when it was still in preview. She rode it 2x's in a row with a friend. She loves it and finally took her older sister (age 27) for the first time lon it last summer. The 27 yr old said it was good but never again! My stomach is so sensitive, I wouldn't ever consider it!
