MIssion Space or Space Mountain?

My son would love to do both but I don't think we'll be able to. Which do you prefer, or which did you child prefer? If Spcae Mountain is breaking down a lot now, maybe we shouldn't chance it, but then again, we aren't going til mid March, so maybe some kinks will be worked out

Mission Space is in Epcot and Space Mountain is in MK. They are two totally different rides. Personally, I think Space Mountain is less intense than Mission Space. Space Mountain is a roller coaster and Mission Space is a spinning ride, even though you don't really feel the "spin", you feel the G forces from it when you are taking off. I felt queasy after Mission Space. Of course you could try the green side - it is supposed to be less intense - I'm not sure if it even spins.

I like the less intense Mission Space better. Space Mountain is a mouse carnival ride in the dark in my opinion. I seem to get really motion sick on this ride and haven't had that problem on anything else. Ridden probably 6 or 7 times cause my kids like it, but probably won't do it again. Mission Space actually has a story behind it and is more interactive.

The spinning motion og mission space make sme motion sick. I got really sick 2 years ago when we did it and will not do it again. But on space mountain, I've never gotten motion sick. Go figure!

The "space" in Space Mtn. is not very defined or even remotely related to space travel.
It is a roller coaster with the word "space" in its name.

Mission:SPACE is all about and directly themed for space exploration and astronaut training.

If you are interested in space flight or exploration, then Mission:SPACE is for you.

Hands down my family prefers Space Mountain over Mission Space (however my DH still loves Mission Space). If my girls could, they would ride Space, Splash, and BTMRR all day long and not worry about any of the other rides. So we bring it down to about 3 times a day....maybe 4 depending on if there is Magic Hours or not

If that's your reason for comparision, you really can't compare the two.
No more you can compare Splash Mountain to Thunder or Space or even Everest.
All are completely different than the other even if they all are "mountain" rides.
So I say if you plan on visiting both parks anyhow, plan on doing both rides, Space Mountain and Mission Space.

I'm with Robo on this one. The two rides are very different experiences.

SM in the amusement park world is considered a themed wild mouse or junior roller coaster.

M:S is a very unique simulator with very high production values and a ride like no other.

Many people have strong feelings about M:S because it is very intense, but if you can handle it, its the closest thing many people will have to flying to Mars.
