Well, in my time on the DIS, I have seen tons of people trick the word filter.

I don't want to have my thread locked, of course. And it's not that people are saying things I don't want to hear, it's that they are being MEAN about it. I am all for free speech and constructive criticism. I have an open mind. On the accountant thread, I even posted to one person that I appreciated their concerns, as well as their opinion, and the ability to express it in a non-judgemental manner. Heck, it may have even been you.

It's okay for them to blast me for my decisions, imply that I am a bad parent, but I can't say stupid? That's ludicrous. I haven't been on that thread all DAY, and a friend sent me word that they are STILL making fun of me.

All I want to do is enjoy the DIS Boards. And the people that have flamed me are making me not even want to BE on the DIS Boards. And that's just SAD.

I had let it go until I got that Private Message. Now I am all upset again. I just want to have a nice trip with my family. I don't understand why people want to ruin it for me. I just don't get it.

BTW, this is not directed at you, disneyfreak. You may not agree with me, but you haven't been cruel about it. And I appreciate that. It just says something to me that I have gotten over 20-plus PMs warning me to stay away from the Community Board. And the people in those PMs called them much worse names than I have.

This whole situation just smacks of idiotic high school intrigue.
I bet it would turn Walt Disney's stomach.

There's a lot of things that I bet would turns Walt's stomach. I would imagine people receiving government assistance in order to function as a family - yet going on a very expensive vacation would probably be right up there with the things that would turn his stomach.

Here's the bottom line - if you BELIEVE that what you are doing is perfectly ok - then NOBODY can make you feel bad about it. Since you are obviously letting people get to you - it makes me think that you know darn well that going on this vacation is something that your family should not be doing at this time.

OH and nobody NEEDS a vacation. What people need is food, clothing, a roof over their heads, medical care, pride - nope vacations are not a necessity.

I like the suggestion of an intro for each park, character meals, and the 2nd time on rides.. I just want to find that perfect shot at some point... with the kids' faces full of wonder.. so my fairy grandmother can see it and feel that her (now up to $8,000) expenditure was well worth it!

Are you aware that once a thread is locked, you not allowed to start a new one dealing with the same topic?

Unless you're looking for a way to get this thread locked and/or rack up a few points, you might want to stop:

the name calling (meanines, loons, stupid, *****,)

bypassing the word filter (using **s to block out the letters of a filter word)

posting a PM (I might be wrong about the last one)

People may not be saying things you want to hear, but you're about to shoot yourself in the foot.

No, you're right about posting a PM. It's called a private message for a reason. If the OP was bothered she should have ignored it or reported it to a Mod. Posting it here was definitely a bad move.

OP, I read the entire accounting thread and I didn't see anyone get nasty until you did so yourself. Most of us were pointing out the corner you were backing yourself into financially and suggested you might want to rethink the trip or scale it way back. I didn't see anyone call you stupid or suggest your children should be taken away.

A lot of people get caught up with a trip to WDW and the thought of canceling or changing plans is too much for them to even think about. They forget that the pixie dust all over WDW isn't all over the rest of the world (thank goodness). There are lots of nice, caring people on the community board and some that have their moments but one thing you can count on is getting honest opinions. I like honesty.

I have to tell you on my DD's first trip her favorite things were the pool and the ice machine in the hotel . We could have saved ourselves a bundle and checked into the local Holiday Inn for the weekend. You don't need to spend a fortune to walk away with priceless memories.

I would like to ask that everyone just please leave me alone. I got an infraction, maybe they will be happy with that. I would appreciate it if everyone could just let the subject drop. It's over, and done with. I hope that everyone can be adult enough to stay off my trip report and let me enjoy it in peace, even though they may not agree with what I am doing.

Yes, I HAVE started packing.. isn't that silly? Packed all my little toiletries, my documents, pirate costumes (shhh.. those are a surprise!)... video camera, and some clothes we have been saving just for this trip.

Um, well, to be honest.. I have packed twice already..

I just couldn't resist pulling it all out and looking at it the other night!

Every night we make this big "ceremony" of marking a day off our calender. Every morning the first thing they say after "good morning Mommy" is "how many days til Disney??"


Aw, MAN... I almost got busted! Ashe just walked up and said "May you please get me some water?". (isn't my baby polite? ) And started reading what was on the screen... he's a quick reader, so I had to turn the monitor off FAST b4 he got to the part about the costumes.. WHEW!

Bill (his boss) met a contractor at the hospital of all places.... Crosby (the partner) went yesterday (yeah.. on a Saturday!) and bid on a job..........


a pretty BIG job.........



AND THEY GOT IT!!!!!!!





The have signed contract in hand for 4 houses. Apparently the contractor couldn't find any companies that could do the specialty work he wanted. At least, they couldn't do it WELL.

See, this is what DH's company does.... they work on the million dollar homes, specialty woodwork like custom spiral staircases, round windows, custom shelving.. basically anything that's difficult. BUT, they cost more. ALOT more. Between Bill, his brother and partner, Crosby, and my DH (who is the supervisor), they have almost 75 years experience. They have the best reputation for quality on the beach. Also the reputation for being the most expen$ive.

At first, although I was happy, my heart kinda stopped. I mean, how could he go to Disney when they're gonna be slammed with new work, have to find some new guys, and DH is the supervisor? But Bill told DH to GO. Have a GREAT AWESOME SUPER TIME... and it can be his


PAID VACATION FOR THE YEAR!!!!!!

Not only that, but when a job like this is finshed, DH automatically gets a BONUS!!!!

He starts back NEXT Monday, they can't order wood until this coming Tues b/c of the holiday. It takes 3 days to have the stuff custom milled. So MOnday, off he will go, lunchbox in hand!!! He'll work that whole week, then we'll be
