Mission Accomplished~Now A Trip Report~Day 10~A BRIEF CONCLUSION~

Now I remember..... You said by saving on the room it was like flying for $XX. See, I really need to keep up with things better.....

Boy, exercising?? early morning?? Not for me! :rotfl: This is why I had my children all at once. Only had *morning* sickness once. The rest of you should try it...:dance3:

Your TR has me intrigue to head over to Linda's TR. I need to find time for all these TR's. Work just seems to get in the way.:surfweb: That's why it took me so long to find you....

I have to check out Jaycns pre-trippie before I get back to work.... SHHHHHHH.... don't tell anyone....
Barb
P.S. I'm STILL so proud of you for riding Soarin'! I KNEW you could do it.

You have to read Lynda's. She's a little slower than me, but now with school starting she might have a chance to catch up.

Love ya Lynda! Really I do!

Sorry you can't enjoy Soarin , but at least you know what you're "missing" - probably don't feel like you're missing anything under the circumstances!

Loved the pic of Malorie with Pluto - so, so sweet!

Nancy

I'm new to your trip report but loving it just the same! Hope you feel better soon!

This day we were breaking apart our group. Tim was taking the boys to Universal Studios and the girls were just gonna do our thing. Girl things, princess things. I wanted to see Mal’s eyes just shine.

The boys left first in the rental car and the plan was to meet back at the room about 5ish so we could get read for our dinner ressie. It was at 7pm at the Grand Floridian. We were eating at 1900 Park Fare with some royalty. I believe it said Cinderella and her friends.

So we are ready and head to the bus stops. The line for Magic Kingdom was just insane. I said to my mom, “Let’s get in the Epcot line and just take the Monorail over to Magic Kingdom”. She’s game and we do just that.

It’s time to use my Disney Knowledge. Time to brag that I am a Diser. Time to Prove I know a thing or two about a thing or two.

We get to Epcot and had to wait in line to get our bags inspected just to get on the Monorail. We usually flew right through these lines because I purchased 2 clear see through back packs. Every guard thanked me. Each and every time. Except for today. This little lady, half my size was running our line. I had to open every zipper. You know so she could look at what you could already see. So much for saving time……

So, we get on the Monorail and head to Magic Kingdom.

Well kinda. We took the scenic route. A very long scenic route.

Remember I said my mom likes to talk? She talks constantly, non stop, at a very loud level. Please don't take that wrong, I love my mom more than anything, but sometimes you have to tune things out. After hearing the same story the 5th or 6th and your eyes glaze over sometimes you have to force yourself to think pleasant thoughts. That's why I missed the important announcement to change trains at the TTC. Or she drowned it out. I think, she drowned it out. So, we stayed on.

I was wondering why it was taking sooooo long to get there and I see Epcot. Huh? Doh! I could’ve smacked my head.

Ok, we are riding again. This time Mal falls asleep and we ride back to the TTC and switch trains and finally get to the Magic Kingdom.

Whose ideas was it anyways to ride the Epcot bus? Let’s tar and feather her!

Just wondering, but does anyone think those monorails smell really bad?

We head straight to Toon Town. There are some princesses we are going to meet.

We get in line at the Judges tent. The line was not long at all. But boy did that line move very slow. People were in line for the other characters, there were three lines in all, and they would do both of those lines before we got through ours.

I do want to also make a stop at MGM studios today. Remember we didn’t get to do Voyage of the Little Mermaid? That’s in the back of my head.

We chat with a nice family in front of us who has 4 girls. Wow! They are all excited about meeting the princesses. Mal was pretty good waiting in line. She had a moment or two but they were only moments easily diverted with talks of Cinderella being behind that door just waiting to meet her.

I’ve no idea what’s in store for us. Keeping my fingers crossed this is going to go over well. It’s our turn and we get to go in with the family in front of us.

There in front of us are Belle, Snow White and CINDERELLA!!!!!

Mal is so patient. The family with 4 girls were in front of us. So we stood there for a moment with our eyes big and just stared and took it all in. I kept suppressing tears. Just a happy wonderful moment I was about the share with my daughter. Something I never thought I was ever going to be able to do.

In the family I married into, Tim comes from a family of boys. He has two brothers. He has 3 uncles and 1 aunt. His oldest brother has 3 sons. His immediate cousins are all boys. Except for the girl who was adopted. His one cousin has 2 boys. His other cousin has a boy and a girl.

He does have 2 girl cousins who were born on fertility drugs. My chances were slim that we were going to have a girl. I had Matt and Zach. 6 years later Mal came to us.

So, this was a special moment for me.

It’s our turn. I don’t know who is more excited. Mal goes right up to Belle and hugs here. Then she looks her right in the eye and says, “I’m going to see Cinderella!” Belle was just wonderful and talked like they were good friends.
DisneyPhotoImage25.jpg

Next is Snow White, Mal hugs her too and says, “I’m going to see Cinderella!” Snow White daintily laughs and poses for their pictures.
DisneyPhotoImage23.jpg

Mal gets to Cinderella and becomes speechless. I help her get things started and soon they are chatting. She tells her she is going to wear her dress later and I explain we are having dinner at 1900 Park Fare with Cinderella and her friends.

Cinderella told Mal she looked forward to having dinner with her later. I just loved that and Mal hugged her again and we left.
DisneyPhotoImage19.jpg

We started to walk out and I saw wee little ones getting in line for the Goofy Barnstormer. I take Mal over to the measuring stick and she’s the perfect height to ride. Why not? I don't do rollercoasters, but my baby wanted to ride and it was roughly a 30 second ride, I could do it!

Malorie was thrilled to ride it and had a ball! I felt bad her daddy the rollercoaster freak didn't get to do that with her first.

Next on our list of Must Do’s was Philharmagic. We can’t do this one enough. Mal wants to ride It’s A Small World and she sings the whole ride. I have video and it's cute!

We got the front row that time. FYI, there is no leg room in the front row of those boats. It’s much more cozy sitting in the back. Plus I didn't lose anything this time.

Disney2006197.jpg

We hit the Carrousel, bypassed Ariel’s grotto, (will not do a line with a 40 minute wait) and headed to see what the fuss was all about at the castle. They had it decorated very differently today. The stage was loaded with Christmas trees and a beautiful white piano was on stage. There were camera crews everywhere. Huge lights like you’d see at a concert. I knew that parades were about to be tapped for the Christmas special but that was a couple days away. Then we were being beckoned to the stage for a live performance of a very huge national recording superstar. At least that was what the lady was saying on the microphone.

We are easily amused and went to check things out and joined the crowd that was forming in front of the stage.

Next thing I knew Beyonce was coming down the steps in a white gown and she started to sing Silent Night. They were taping it for their Christmas Day Special. We stayed for one of her tapings. I heard she did 4 before they were all satisfied.

Disney2006206.jpg
Disney2006202.jpg
Disney2006205.jpg

And on Christmas morning we taped and watched the performance to see if our faces were noticable. Nope. Not a one.

All that excitement made us hungry and we hit Cosmic Rays for lunch. As we ate it poured and when we finished it stopped. Tour guide Mike has nothing on me! Just kidding.

We are walking to Future world and my mom starts chatting with a CM who offered to take a couples' picture. I recognize the outfit and the bag. It’s a dream team member. I just walk and listen and see where this one is going to go. I look at his name tag. Peter from Brazil. They talk and talk and talk. I smile and smile and smile. My mom has no clue who she is talking to. I guess he sees his contact and expresses how much he loves his job and hopes that we have a great day and excuses himself. He left us hanging and I was crushed. So, we get on the escalator for the TTA and then I explain to my mom what it was he really did. ANd sulked a bit. So what. I wanted to be blessed with a dream just like everyone else. Got over it in a few minutes.

It’s getting late and I don’t think we are going to make another Park so I suggest we do Buzz Lightyear. As we are almost on the ride a Dream Team Member comes out of nowhere and opens a large duffle bag and starts handing out Lanyards with trading pins. We each get one. I was excited for that because I was trying on this trip to perk there interest in trading and collecting pins. I would give mine and Mal’s to the boys. They were grey. If Mal is going to have a lanyard it’s going to be Pink!

We ride Buzz one more time for good measure
Disney2006208.jpg

and head down Main Street. I told myself I would purchase something for me so we stopped in a shop that sold watches and I got the cutest watch. It’s gold and has a gold Mickey silhouette on the face with a denim blue background and all the links are Mickey silhouettes. I love it.

The crowd is gathering for a parade and we just quietly sneak out. We head for the buses. We are almost there and a bus is about to leave. There is a couple ahead of us running to catch it. The bus waits for them. As we enter the chained area the bus pulls out and leaves. It wasn’t even packed. I was bothered by that immensely. So, we are forced to wait about 15 minutes for another bus.

We beat the boys back to the room and Mal is enjoying another one of her naps. I wait until the very last minute to wake her and put on her much anticipated Cinderella Dress. She is very excited about this and is just great the rest of the night.

We get to 1900 Park Fair and have time to walk around the Grand Floridian and admire the Decorations and the Gingerbread House.

Disney2006228.jpg

The music from the second level was very nice.

Disney2006212.jpg

Our buzzer buzzes and we are greeted by Fairy Godmother.

Disney2006215.jpg

Everything smells gooooood.

Mal is in awe. Coming toward us is Prince Charming! He talks with Malorie, tells her how beautiful she looks, she tells him she’s gonna marry a prince live in the castle and they pose for a picture.

Disney2006216.jpg

Pearla and Suzy are walking around signing autographs and taking pictures.
Disney2006222.jpg

Cinderella makes her Grand appearance at our table.
Disney2006219.jpg

Lots of pics are taken and Cinderella even takes advantage to embarrass the boys for a bit.
Disney2006221.jpg

The food here was fantastic! We all ate way too much and enjoyed everything. The strawberry soup was absolutely fantastic and worth every slurp I took. I even licked the bowl clean. Well I imagined it.

The chef went out of his way for Matt and made him his own specialty pizza, cause if Allergies weren’t enough, Matt has his quirks and doesn’t like sauce on Pizza. So one was brought out for him the way he likes it.

My whole family was happy and they all ate until their hearts content and I got to truly enjoy a dinner.

That’s when I bumped into another Diser, Avivasmommy. Last night on the phone we both mentioned we were eating at 1900 Park Fare and our times were 30 minutes apart. I saw her adorable lively daughter and recognized her from the siggy photo. Plus as a bonus she had on that darling Minnie mouse outfit from the photo, it had to be them.

Our children ended dinner kinda playing around and talking and we had such a large table that the little girl hung out with us. Hopefully her mom and dad got some quite time.

Dinner was over and with our stomachs overfilled a walk around the place sounded like a good plan. We went to the second level to get on the monorail. Just take it for a spin. When the monorail pulled in I saw passengers get out of the front doors and pushed Tim in the direction while quickly telling him to ask the conductor if they could ride in front. Tim reluctantly asked and was surprised that this was possible. The kids got to sit in the front with their dad. It was nice riding around at night seeing all the hotels lighted up as well as Magic Kingdom. The kids got their special cards after the ride was over. Tim too.

Disney2006226.jpg

We get back to the Grand Floridian and really walk around this time. We found a photopass station and I was concerned I miss placed my photopass card. The very helpful and intelligent girl asked when was the last time we had our pictures taken. What park and where in the park, and what we were wearing. Out of 10’s of thousands of pictures she found ours and put them on a new card and gave us one of the sturdier cards that felt like a credit card. I was so pleased I gave her a card that thanked her from the Johnson Family for going out of her way for us. I truly believed she did.

We took pictures in the lobby by the tree and gingerbread house and finally called it a night.
Disney2006209.jpg

When we got back to the hotel, Illuminations could be heard so we drove to the back of the hotel and watched the show from the lake. I just have one question, when they open the second phase of POP, what are they going to do with the 1000's of birds living in and around the lake? They were not happy that we were there and protested very loudly. I really thought we were going to be attacked.
Disney2006232.jpg

Next: A few do overs, a lost child and utter panic, and MVMCP!

Loved this installment, Monica. Great photos. Did Mal notice Cinderella looked a bit *different* the second time she saw her? I'm always curious about that. Thanks!
Barb

Maybe you should make a newer version of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds" All you have to do is air your vacation video.:lmao:

Mal is sooooo cute with the Princesses. Your Snow White looks like "my" snow white. She was very sweet when my dd2 wanted to leave her and see Rella-Rella!!!

I love that the chef made your picky DS a special pizza! How sweet!

I'm going to have to try 1900 Park Fare next time. I love everything at the GF. So fancy shmancy!

Bionce is so beautiful in real life! Lucky!
That Christmas Day Special was just a well done Commercial for Disney World! I mean, I watched it and liked it but Kelly Rippa? It was SO commercial-y!

Oh, LOVED your latest!!!! You are really great at this!!!

awesome installment how cute is lil mal? i can;t wait to take my daughter to see the princesses i know i will be bawling esp. at aurora she is my favorite and my daughter looks just like her . love it and can't wait for next installment i stressed at the missing child part..:scared1:

Oh, Monica! Another great installment! I LOVED the photos on this one. :thumbsup2 Mal is sooooo cute! And I can't believe you stumbled onto Beyonce! We heard she was there while we were there. How nice that you were in the right place at the right time! :goodvibes I gotta get movin' on my trippie, huh? :rotfl:

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe not so much at the time, but when she looks at the pictures. I hope not! It would be so sad to ruin her magic.

I think Malorie is too little to understand the part of different people "playing" Cinderella. I just will either use one picture in the scrap book, or make absolutely sure that they aren't on the same page. Kids get things in there own time. When it's her time, it will be her time.

Wendy: I totally agree with the Disney Christmas special being a commerical for them. It was so scripted and so pieced together.

But we are disney nerds and will watch anything promoting the parks.

What a great day! I'm so happy you got a dream! Wahoo!!!

Geez, Monica........I read this yesterday and I guess I didn't post. :confused3

:cutie: Loved your girlie day of fun! Bummer about the monorail. Reminds me of my bus ride from DTD. Very cool that you got to see Beyonce! What a treat! And I enjoyed splitting up boys/girls a couple of times.

The Grand Floridian is beautiful with the tree and all!!! That is one of the most AWESOME pictures I have seen! Hard to get the size and scale in perspective but you did a great job! Would love to see it for real sometime.

Take care, sweet girl. I know you're feeling rotten lately. Hope you are better soon.

Today is Thursday and sadly we are getting to the end of our trip. We have one full day left and on Saturday we return home.

Am I the only one who does this? :sad2: The end plagues me when we are on vacation. That thought that we have 5 days left, and then we have just 3 days left etc just hangs out in my head and nags me to death. I almost feel that it ruins some of the excitment. Why do I do this?

The only plans we have are Dinner at Liberty Tree and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. :santa: The most part of our day is open and I have two goals. One is seeing Voyage of the Little Mermaid at MGM and getting a Dole Whip. I read so many good things about them and I was very anxious to get one. I had 2 opportunities to get one earlier in the week, but I would remember right after we ate and I wasn’t hungry for one. So today was my last chance.

We started out going to MGM Studios. We had a few things on our list. We went straight to Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I was giddy and excited. I had my video camera ready. I really wanted to tape this show and I wasn’t sure if you could. I imagined Malorie falling in love with this show and us sitting back at home enjoying viewing the video. We were in the little room before they let you in to be seated. We were way in the back and were looking at all the “stuff” on the walls. Zachary and Grandma were really into this and had a “Look what I found” session going on. The doors opened and I took the lead with Malorie in tow. We found our row made sure we moved all the way down and sat. I was getting out my camera and listening to the announcement. You can video! :woohoo: Yes!!!! The show starts rather quickly and I am in a trance. I can hear Malorie all excited talking with her daddy! I got the video camera rolling. I love puppets. This takes me back to when my mom took me to the library for puppet shows. I remember school assemblies when they brought in the coolest puppets and performers. This is my most favorite show at MGM.

We get to the part when Ursula comes out and I see in my side vision on my right this little boy standing. Too little to be one of mine. Mal and Daddy are to my left. Matt and Granda and Zach are on my right. That boy is awefully close and he’s not one of mine. I look left and see Mal and Tim, I look right and see Grandma and Matt.

WHERE’S ZACHARY! :scared1:

You can hear me saying that on the camera. I look all the way down the row and no Zach. We are dead center. I put the camera down and get up I remember from the announcement cause I paid attention to it today, that if you had to leave suddenly they said to exit to your left, which I really tried hard to do without hurting too many people. I know I stepped on a lot of toes and I apologize for it. If you were there and reading and I hurt you, I am deeply sorry, but as you can see there was a very good reason for it.

I got to the doors and there was no CM in sight so I exited and went to the beginning. There were 2 CM’s and I explained in my best possible non crying voice that I can’t find my son. We were in the queue line together, but he did not get in the row with us. He got on his radio and spoke to another CM inside. They figured out that the little boy inside who told that same CM he couldn’t find his family was indeed my son. They told him to sit in a chair at the end of the row and wait until the show was over to find his family.

THEY WOULDN’T LET ME BACK IN UNTIL THE SHOW WAS OVER.

I had to go back to the doors where everyone exits and wait for them to automatically open. It felt like an eternity waiting for them to open. I stood there and scanned every face that left. My family gets to me and no Zach. We wait until it emptied and then I see him. Walking very slowly with that look on his face. At first it was scared, and then it was relieved and then the tears just started pouring from his eyes. His and mine. I walked up to him and we just hugged and cried. I kept saying I was so sorry. I felt like the biggest loser mom in the world for not realizing my son didn’t sit down with us. I just thought he was at the end with my mom. I was so thankful that he was ok.

We walked out and joined the rest of the family and we all just had a big crying group hug :grouphug: that ended with us all laughing. We asked him if you wanted to see it again and he loudly yelled, “NO!” He doesn’t even like to watch this part of the video. Poor kid. I traumatized my own son because I had to video that show!!!!

Next we headed to Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground.

Disney2006239.jpg
Disney2006240.jpg

Matt wanted to do this because last time his sister wasn’t old enough to play in it. This year she is 2 and so ready to run around with the big kids! So we spent some time here. We finished and we can hear the Power Rangers right around the corner. They are already out and the lines are outrageously long so I do what any quick thinking mama can do:

Disney2006243.jpg
Disney2006244.jpg
Disney2006246.jpg

You can see them in the background, you know you can. We didn't have to wait in all those lines. Just turn this way. Click. Turn that way. Click. Ok one more time turn. Click. And you are done.

We did get in line and were very lucky to have enough time to meet this one. Barely cause the warning was going off.

Disney2006249.jpg

Lights Cars Action was next and I hope this is the last time I have to sit through this. I saw it last year and it was cool then. It just loses that element of surprise and coolness once you know all the little secrets and tricks.

Time for lunch! I was headed back to the Studios Catering. I asked if David was woking today. BONUS he was! I found David and he took care of us once again. He remembered us. Remembered my son’s allergies and helped carry the trays back to the table. I told him we were so pleased with the way he took care of us before, had had to come back one more time and we would always make it a point to eat here on future trips. He brought over his manager I believe and we had a little chat. They were all so nice. We even got a group photo for you to enjoy. I got David’s approval.

Disney2006255.jpg

:worship: This is the one CM that truly made our vacation so enjoyable and memorable. David seems to like what he does and it shows. I made sure to stop at guest relations on our way out and I filled out an applause form for him. I hope it got into the right hands and he was recognized for his performance.pixiedust:

On our way out we let the boys stop and shop for pins. They were really feeling the magic with the pins and now they have a very nice collection. This is when Malorie got her pink princess lanyard as well.

It was time to head to the Magic Kingdom.

Up Next: Magic Kingdom and MVMCP!

OMG! Glad to hear you came through the missing child thing OK! I was worried when I read that at the end of your last installment. You are just flying along, arent' you? :rotfl: I have been working on my recipe journal, but it's going in the mail tomorrow, and hopefully I will get crackin' after that! (Can I blame you for getting me hooked on the Peeps thread? Not that that would be a bad thing - quite the opposite!) Anyway, another great installment, and I am getting sad that it is coming to an end soon. S-T-R-E-T-C-H it out as much as you can, would ya? (Not just so I can catch up. I don't want our trips to be "over"!)
