Hey, the semester is OVER! I did awesome and now I have free time!!!!! Back to the TR!!!!
It’s Friday, the last full day of our trip. We wake up semi early and head over to the Polynesian Hotel for 8 O’clock breakfast.
We usually have one nice breakfast on our trip and originally had breakfast scheduled earlier in the week at Donald’s in Animal Kingdom and cancelled it. We tried to reschedule it but they were booked so I found tons of room at Kona Café. It’s next to O’Hana’s and I was told they shared the same kitchen. No characters, but I was getting a chance to eat Tonga Toast and I was excited.
We got there with minutes to spare and they seated us right away. I truly enjoyed my cup of coffee there. I had several for good measure. The Tonga Toast was delicious and I can still taste it.
Here's Zack and his yummy chocolate chip pancakes!
Side note: My sister just went with her 2 boys and her fiancé with her DVC membership and she bought the dinning plan with 2 weeks before her trip! She wasn’t clear on making dinning ressie’s ahead of time (Newbies) and couldn’t get what she wanted with only two weeks notice, so I said, give me your dates and I’ll do them for you. They ate at Kona’s and she called me up to say she was eating Tonga toast. I just began to salivate. I could smell the cinnamon and bananas through the phone. And I was very jealous

.
I also set them up at Tony’s in Magic Kingdom during Spectro and they got a patio table that finished with Wishes. I knew she’d get it they have the luck. They ate at Cap N Jacks in Downtown Disney and they got the lobster tail with their dinner. She said that was awesome and it was being discontinued the following week. So, big sis here came through and set them up with great dinning for the week. I even got a thank you! Sister’s can get along!

Ahem. Plus for me being such a nice sister I told her should could let us come with her next time and stay in some big fancy shmancy place with the DVC membership.
Back to us!
As I took Malorie to the bathroom before breakfast started, we walked by where Stitch and Jasmine were taking pictures for the O’Hana guests and they waved and blew kisses to her. So, in the end we got the magic without paying double for it.
I love the Polynesian. It’s my dream to stay there. I remember as a young girl driving by it on the Monorail when my parents took us and my dad would say, “That’s where the rich people stay.” I would watch the family’s getting off the monorail staying there and wondered how they were able to afford such a place, while my family only got to stay at the Contemporary. What kids don’t know……. So the hype was built up for me way back when. I love walking through it and love the way it’s designed. We got to go there last trip for the Aloha Dinner show.
After breakfast we let the kids shop for more pins and headed over to Animal Kingdom.
We were anxious to ride Expedition Everest. I was getting nervous cause we all had full bellies. So, I didn’t hit the gas peddle to hard, to give our food some time to digest. I just wanted to ride it once to say, yes, I have ridden it.
We arrive at AK and we got to see Stanley and the talking tree. I love spotting the person controlling it.
Then we head straight for that Yeti. My mom finds a shaded place to wait for us and it’s actually one of the nicest days of the week. It’s pleasantly warm. Matt is ready to ride and Zach gets cold feet and decides to hang back with Grandma and Malorie. He was almost crying so I knew he wasn’t ready.
We are standing in line and Matt is pretty nervous. He keeps asking me if I’m gonna be Ok. Isn’t that sweet? He says he’ll sit with me and Dad can ride alone. He knows I’m nervous about riding coasters. He even holds my hand in line.
Matt gets so nervous he starts to have second thoughts. We give him some change to through at the money pit and he actually hits the big plate.
We get through the line in less than 7 minutes and we have our seats.
I rode it. With my eyes shut. I did open them quick enough to see the Yeti for 2 seconds. Happy it ended with a nice burning feeling in my tummy. If it wasn’t for the burn, I think I’d like those kinds of rides. This is a big thrill ride and can see why my family rode it so many times afterwards.
This is my attempt at taking a photo while on the ride, and of our pics that were posted. Nice eh?
We found the crew, told Zach how much fun it was and moved on to Kali River Rapids. Got out the poncho, cause I hate wearing wet underwear, and the rest of them got soaked. Because the boys were drenched Mal wanted to get wet so they took her over to the fountain because they weren't already wet enough. This fountain releases some water and stops for a bit. Mal wasn't good at timing this thing and she got real close and was blasted with a rush of cold water. Needless to say, she wasn't a very happy camper.
I know some of you are going to cringe but we spent the next hour and a half at Dino Land. My kids love carnivals and this area is just a blast for them. I find a nice shaded spot and let the boys ride their booty butts off on the spinney dinosaur ride. Over and over and over they rode. Before Mal was ready to pass out I did take her on the dino version of Dumbo.
That was a huge feat for me. I hate to go in circles. But I watched the ride and it seemed to be over pretty quick and she did want to ride it, so I sucked it up and spent a nice Mommy and Malorie moment together and then I let Daddy take over. Once was more then enough for me. She found some dino's to hug
and it was time to take a little nap. My boys they just spun their little hearts out. I can’t even watch. All that spinning…..Oi!
The Nemo show is about to begin and we head on over. This is a fabulous show and I think it’s one of Disney’s best ideas. They finally rehabbed the auditorium. It’s no longer a sauna from blazes. They enclosed it with air conditioning and added a spectacular show. This show is one of the best I’ve seen at Disney. I give it A+++++. Take your kids to see this show. Kids take the adults too. I loved it.
We used our snack credits for a little lunch and headed over to Camp Mini Mickey and Lion King.
Mal got her autos and we all got our pics taken with some great Characters with a lot of interaction.
We really made Donald mad because we had a Mickey Mouse pen and he would not sign our books until we found a pen without Mickey on it. No Joke! I was going down the line to borrow someone else’s pen.
He made his point when he put the #1 sign next to his signature in all three books. The boys traded pins standing in line with a CM. That was Matt's first time trading.
We listened to some modern Christmas carolers and it gave Mal a chance to run around and dance. After a nice wet sticky and bright orange popsicle
we enjoyed one of our favorite shows: The Lion King.
Dinner came next and I swear when we walked into the McDonalds I thought it was closed. It was a ghost town.
I think our presence awakened the cashier just enough so we didn’t hear him snore. I love this time of year! We had our choice of table. How often does that happen? I believe I remember one other family there enjoying a comfy quite dinner.
If Mal was gonna cry and have a fit, who cared! They needed something to keep the employees awake.
Zach was being completely agitated by his brother about how cool Expedition Everest was and it was time to put the baby tude away and show a few people what he was all about. “Dad!” We heard. “I don’t want to go on Dinosaur next, I want to ride Everest!” I never seen a grown man inhale a hamburger as quick as my husband did and they looked at me with those eyes and I said, “GO!” And they were gone just like that. Grandma and I packed up all the left over food. No sense in throwing it all away. After my men’s long journey to find a Yeti they’d be back and hungry. So we moseyed along and took in the sights and I played with the camera to see what shots I could find.
This is my way of showing hidden mickeys.
Mal took another short nap and Grandma and I hung out with a view of Mt. Everest.
I called Tim to catch up and they were just continuously walking on the ride over and over. I love this time of year.
Time to go, mom’s got stuff to pack up and the plan was to head back to the room and they could go swimming while I could pack in peace.
As we walked out I took a couple of these
which made for a very nice memory.
More on today next, if I can find my notes, I know there’s a trip to Downtown Kidless!
