Missing school assignments?

DD has an art project listed as "missing" on her online gradebook. This is the same piece of work that was selected to hang at a local hospital for a program they have there. DD has a plaque from the awards ceremony for this but the artwork stays at the hospital. Her art teacher is the one that nominated her work. Now the art teacher can't "find" the assignment so she got a "0" on it. Um, I think I need to call her about this one. DD can't get her to understand WHY it is "missing". She isn't our favorite teacher at the school.

maybe she should bring the plaque to school and show that to the teachers. It might make the lightbulb go on. Congrats to your daughter for the award.

All I can say is good luck. You would think it would be a real no-brainer when its sitting in the hospital and you have a plaque. We have found nothing is ever that easy. We went through the same thing with my DD and a grade this year and it took several letters and visits to the school to correct something that should have been easy to fix.

I plan to have her bring that in on Tuesday to remind her teacher, if that gets her no where then I will call. Hopefully the lightbulb will go on though. The funny thing is we never knew DD could draw, let alone be good enough for an award.

we've had repeated incidents where the teacher sends home his weekly "update" (kind of like a progress report) that shows what grades were received as well as lists (by subject category) any missing assignments. nice idea in theory but when the cover page shows x number of missing assignments but the teacher has included those assignments in the attached "completed/graded" papers you have to wonder what the deal is (can't count the number of times i've signed the form and had to note "see attached papers YOU provided, missing assignments for x,y, and z were received and graded by you"

I've had one of DD's teachers mark the entire class missing, and bring down their interim grades, for papers that were turned in but just not graded yet several weeks after they were turned in.

OT--Of course this is the same teacher who gave my DD extra work for punishment when she wasn't even in class. I was flamed big time for DARING to question a teacher when I brought that up.
