Missing Any Fabulous Restaurants??

So I just booked our vacation and am planning our DDP reservations. I keep going back to the same restaurants we ALWAYS go to and would really like to try something different this year. Our one place we will gladly return to is Biergarten, though.

Here's what we've done in the past:
Biergarten (three times~A MUST)
Donald's Safari Breakfast Tusker House (twice, it was great)
Toy Story Pizza Planet (three times-yuck, but my kids love it)
WCC (first time 2 years ago~WAY too much food)
CRT Dinner (twice, enjoyable)
Tutto Italia (once)
Plaza Restaurant (okay)
1900 Park Fare dinner (not impressed)
Rainforest Cafe (eh, not that great)

Since we don't have park hoppers, I'm planning our TS meals for the park we visit that day. By the way, we are not very adventurous foodies (for instance, we'd starve at Boma and Ohana's~nothing there we'd really like). And, I want to stay away from character meals (my kids are over that) and any TS that takes 2 credits. One credit only, please.

So, here's what I need recommendations for my family of 4 (me, DH, DD (12), and DS (9) ):

Dinner in Epcot~Biergarten
Dinner in Magic Kingdom (other than CRT)
Dinner in Hollywood Studios (never eaten dinner here)
Dinner for Animal Kingdom day will be at a resort~which one?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

For MK, try Liberty Tree Tavern. We love it! It's a fantastic respite from the park, and has lots of "basic" food. Tony's is OK, but you can get much better Italian elsewhere.
For DHS, 50s Prime Time Cafe is always fun, if that's your style. Read some reviews to make sure you know what you're getting into. Food-wise you should be fine - absolutely nothing adventurous there. Sci Fi si OK, but always struck me as a poor use of a credit. Brown Derby is 2 credits, so that's out.

The other two are harder...
for EPCOT, I'd consider expanding your boundaries just a little. Almost every restaurant has chicken or something, so you should be able to find SOMETHING to eat, while still experiencing a new culture and experience. Tepan Edo is awesome, especially if you've never been to a Japanese Steak House before. The food, at the most basic level, is grilled meat and rice - nothing too adventurous. Coral Reef is also a favorite of ours, and might be a good choice if you guys like seafood.

For the resorts... there are just SO many options, that I don't even know where to start. Will you be leaving AK for the day to head to the restaurant? Where are you staying?

Have fun!

I LOVE 50s prime time at HS - get the fried chicken and give in to the antics!

I've never eaten TS at MK, I prefer to eat at the hotels around there. And I also prefer eating at my own hotel so I don't have to worry about transporatation to and from my hotel to another hotel to a park, etc.

Perhaps I was too misleading when I said we are not "adventurous" foodies. :) I mean like we don't enjoy African foods like Boma offers, or Hawaiian such as 'Ohanas (more of the "exotic" foods, I guess). We love seafood, japanese, chinese, mexican, italian, and american foods.

We love the Biergarten at Epcot b/c my husband lived in Germany as a child, the atmosphere is so festive, and the food is unlike anything we can get here at home. I would love to try Tepan Edo, but I don't know if I could convince the family to go there since we have a fabulous japanese steak house here at home. And, we're only at Epcot one day. I hope I don't regret not having the Park Hopper option, b/c we usually eat at more than one Epcot restaurant.

I forgot to mention that we've eaten at LTT and Tony's in '02. Back then LTT was a character dinner. I remember the food being fine. We did not enjoy Tony's.

How is Mama Rosa's at HS?

We are staying at CBR~our first time staying there. We usually stay at POP. I've read that Shutters is not that great. Yes, we will leave AK to eat at a resort for the evening.

I can see Boma being adventurous for many but Ohanas seems pretty standard fare to me. Just typical shrimp, grilled chicken, beef and pork.

You might try Kona next door to Ohana's. They have a bit of everything on their menu and are very good.

The Wave at Contempory is excellent but I find their menu limiting so check the menu on Disneyworld.com or allears.net first.

Tony's at MK has always been good. Nothing fancy but good food and excellent service every time.

Coral Reef is one of our favorates. Excellent food, something for everyone and great ambience with the huge aquarium to watch while dining.

DHS has very little decent food. Counter service there is lacking. Mama Melrose is good, Hollywood and Vine mediocre. Brown Derby is good but expensive.

Animal Kingdom is for the adventurous diner with the exception of Rainforest. They are a national chain and nothing really exciting for us.

Hi,

My husband, brother and I loved LTT when we ate there back in 08. That is the only restaurant I can think of in MK where we'd want to do TS.

Resort-wise, I think we might have different tastes. We liked WCC...although I eat like a bird, and I agree, TONS of food!

Le Cellier at Epcot is one of our favorite restaurants in WDW...maybe you could head over there instead of a resort after your day at AK?

Hope that helps!

Also...ment to add that I liked Mama Melrose in DHS. My brothers, who are meat and potato guys, hated it though. You might want to take a look at the menu and see if it will meet your family's tastes!

We usually do the Deluxe Dining Plan but we love all the Signature restaurants but this is our favs for 1TS

EPCOT - has so many - love to Rose & Crown - ask for the Patio so you can watch Illuminations from your table. Food was great also.
Coral Reef is good to... Love La Cellier but come March it will be back to a 2TS. We will be trying La Hacienda this trip.

MK - Love LTT for lunch and dinner.

DHS - My DH loves MM but I prefer 50s PT and Sci Fi

AK - Tusker House was good at one time but it has gone down.. Doing Yak& Yeti again this trip - was not crazy about it last time but we will try it 1 more time...

Check out the Garden Grill in Epcot. It has really good food, good character interaction, and is about as quiet and private as you can hope for at WDW. We go there every trip.
