Minor AP holder still get benefits?

My 13 yr old has an AP, but we don't. Can we still get the AP discounts even though she is a minor?

My DD14 at the moment has flashed her AP card to:
get into the parking lot without paying, while I'm driving and she's in the passenger seat (sometimes they ask for ID but when they see her face they just wave her in)
bought merchandise at several stores with her money and her discount.
I have never tried to use her AP to buy something and then pay with my CC. I also have an AP I'm just giving you the instances that she has used it by herself.

Since a minor's AP now is the same price as an adult's AP, all perks and benefits should be available to kids. BUT....if you want to buy something, with the AP discount, you have to give your child the cash so they can buy it. You can't pay for it...can't even give them your credit card! The AP has to be in the same name as the credit card holder. Other than that...shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks! We were looking to use it for dining discount at Teppan Edo and Yak and Yeti, but we will be using our Disney Rewards card to pay for food. Guess we can always just pay cash there. Thanks again!

A minor with an AP can/will receive the merchandise & dining discounts as long as they are the ones paying. They will not receive any room discounts because you have to be 18+ to reserve a room.

In your case, assuming the rewards card is yours/in your name, then no discount would be applied/entitled but paying cash is an option.
