This is not a tipping debate post - so would appreciate it not becoming one.
Just got back from a long weekend at WDW. Used a Minnie Van three times, including one very long trip from BWI to MK as we navigated Princess Half traffic (so I took the opportunity to get nosy with my driver!).
The question of tipping Minnie Van drivers comes up quite a bit around here, so I wanted to relay what I was told by all three drivers.
I was told as of a few weeks ago (early Feb), Minnie Van drivers are now considered ‘tipped positions’ and can accept both cash tips and tips through the app (they were not eligible for tips before). If you tip through the app, it will eventually make its way back to that CM.
I did ask all three drivers, just in case I was being ‘sold’ a story by the first driver.
They all pretty much said the same thing.
If accurate, I think this is a better setup. To me it was confusing before - some would take cash tips, some would do the ‘refuse three times’ thing, tipping via the app was an unknown black hole. This puts things more on par with how Uber/Lyft operate when it comes to tipping, frankly.
Obviously tipping is a personal preference thing, but just passing along info for those so inclined. Thanks!
