Minnie Marathon 2007 -- WISH Roster (see post 1 for WISH Meets Info!)

Yay! next week I'll be sleeping at the World! Thanks for sharing the pics everyone. It is great to see you before I see you!

Sorry to those having stonkers. Take it easy now. We'll be playing before long. Be sure to enjoy the event and savor every moment!

Here's my DW and I with our Goofy Bling. Someone at EPCOT wanted to take our picture for themselves and we convinced them to take a pic with our camera:lmao:

OMG...I cannot wait until Thursday...this week has been AWEFUL!!!!!

I did manage to get some walking in, but then yesterday on my way to work I was making an appointment for DH to go to the dr's cause he has high blood pressure, and he has been having some pains in his chest, well they told us to go right to the emergency room, so I called him at work and told him to go to the hospital, and I met him there. Well, he has a very bad family history of heart disease and heart problems so they decided they were going to keep him and run some tests to make sure he didn't have a mild heart attack or anything like that. So I sent dd-11 to a friends house overnight and dd-6 was with a friend of mine and I was going to pick her up after visiting hours at the hospital, well when I picked her up and we went home, she cried and screamed that she didn't want to go home without daddy...UGH I felt so bad it was horrible, well after about 10 minutes I finally got her calmed down enough to come in the house, and of course she climbed righ tinto bed in daddy's spot and fell right to sleep. I dropped her off at school this morning and went right over to the hospital, and dd was getting the stress test and an ultrasound of his heart. At about 2:00 the cardiologist came in and said that everything looked normal except for his cholesterol that was pretty high. So they let him leave, but he has to take cholesterol medicine, and because of his family history of heart problems(his dad has high blood pressure and has also had triple bypass heart surgery, his grandfather died in his early 50's from a heart attack, and his mom has high cholesterol and diabetes and high blood pressure) the Dr wants him to take one baby asprin a day. He said that taken one asprin a day can reduce the chances of having a heart attack in men by 30% who knew??? Anyway, needless to say I am going to go out and get some tomorrow so he can start taking it, he needs every preventative he can get!!!!

I don't know if any of this makes any sense...lol...I took my pain meds(percs) for my back and just needed to vent:lmao:

Anyway, I can't wait until the Minnie. I NEED A VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl2:

OMG, glad to hear DH is OK, his family history sounds like mine...maybe we are long lost relatives. Good thing he went to the hospital and got things checked out.

Love all the pictures.....they are great.

Well, weather here today sucks so I think I will continue with my inside spring cleaning. I am going to leave most of my packing until Tues night but most things are in the spare bedroom ready to go.

Weather outlook is still hot, looks like a bit of rain.

1 week today, DD and I will probably be at AK, only going to spend 1/2 a day there then not sure what we are doing.

Good morning all! Today I plan to get my last LR in. I hope the weather cooperates.

Michelle, sorry about your DH. I hope he is ok. I had to bring my DH to the ER twice last year for the same thing. They couldn't give me any answers  They put him on anxiety medicine and sent him on his way.

Is anyone planning on carrying water with you during the race? Where did you find a waist pack that holds water? I have gone everywhere around here and cannot find one. I am thinking I may just have to carry a bottle of water with me? :confused3

Thanks, he is feeling much better this morning, and we went out on a four mile walk this morning. You know my DH has anxietys too, and that is why I kept blowing it off, last week one of the guys at his work had a seizure(like a full blown convulsing one) and my DH was holding him and trying to make sure his tongue didn't go to the back of his throat and cut off his airway so I thought he was just fraked out about that...guess I was wrong huh:confused:

As far as a carrying wter, I plan on carrying a gatorade in my "fanny pack" It fit last year(you know the smaller bottles) and I also plan on carrying my camera as well in it. It was a bit annoying especially when I was running, but I am glad I had it.

I always carry a fanny pack with a water bottle holder. Fuel Bet(FuelBelt.com) makes a variety of multi bottles or single 20 oz bottle.

I like to drink when I need it and not necessarily at the aid stations. I sip as I go, especially in the heat. I was really glad I had it with me for the Goofy after the issues the race had with water and cups. I usually fill the bottle with Cytomax(electrolyte drink) that doesn't cause me stomach issues. If I drink Poer Ade(or Gatorade), I will be in the bathroom all race:eek:

Becky- I ordered an Amphipod holder. It has a small pocket up front, two water bottles, and a little pouch thing that hopefully will hold my camera. Right now I'm trying to pack it- you'd think I was going on an Eco-Challenge. I seriously need to get some self-control or I'm going to pass out from the weight of all my totally unnecessary junk!

I have a waist bottle holder from Road Runner Sports. It has a little pocket for a very small cell phone. It would probably fit a regular sports bottle if you have one you like- I don't like the one that came with it. Say the word and I'll bring it for you. The only reason I'm not using it is that I got anxious about carrying my camera and phone. I'm all about taking pictures and finding my ride! And over-packing-- apparently I'm all about over-packing.

As far as need for water, I've done exactly two races in my life. The first I was totally annoyed because I didn't have my water; the second I was carrying it in my hand and I wanted to toss it. Looking back on it, the time without water was much hotter and a longer race. I imagine I won't even use my belt-- the camera will probably be in my hand the whole time; the water will be untouched; the sports beans will be too hard to get out; and my family better be waiting at the finish with the car keys!

In other news, my daughter is hard at work on a sign for the WISHers. I thought I'd never seen anything as bright as the poster board we found; but then I caught a glimpse of my glowing shirt again. :lmao:

Can't wait to see everyone

I can not believe my final training run is tomorrow morning and then it is time!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Here is a pic of me and DS#2 at the Kids Race in January.

I also have an Amphipod belt. Mine however, has one large bottle that fits in the curve of your back. It also has a small pocket for gu/keys/etc. I really like it--not too much jiggling around--but I've found that the bottles only hold enough water for around 9-13 miles--perfect for the Minnie. I like to carry my own water for the same reason Robert mentioned--like to have it when I'm thirsty, which is not necesarily a water stop.

 :scared1: I went to pack my WISH shirt and I can't find it...I haven't had it since January and don't know where I put it....UGH...:confused3

1 week today !!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe it. Going out for a 8K this morning!!!!.

Will check back in later.

Kim

Not too much to report from me--still a little sore from my stonker run on Friday. But still hoping that all these bad runs around here will turn into great race day performances!

Cam--how are you feeling today?? Breathing any better?? Oh, and if it makes you feel any better, I'm working this weekend as well, so I can play next week

disneyfanz--Hope you can find your shirt!

Well, one week from right now, I'll probably be heading back to the hotel for a shower. And then a day of playing at EPCOT. Could life get any better:yay: :yay: Oh, and I also found out that I don't have to babysit Friday now, so maybe DH and I can try to go stand-by on an earlier flight:cool1:

And now everyone it's time to start spazzing out about the weather! :scared1:
Sat
May 5 Scattered T-Storms
87°/68° 50%
50 %

Sun
May 6 Scattered T-Storms
88°/67° 60%
60 %

For those who missed out in January, looks like it will be more of the same... Keep hydrating!

The weather channel is showing me:

Saturday: low 68, high 87, partly cloudy, 55% humidity
Sunday: low 67, high 88, sunny, 58% humidity

I got my final long run in yesterday....it was supposed to be 8 miles....so many detours on the path and I wound up running 9 miles and I still wasn't back at the start. I walked the final mile, so the good news is I found a great 10 mile route! The run felt great!!! My legs felt so strong I felt like I could have kept going and going and going. I tried Sport Beans out for the first time yesterday too. Really liked them, but it is hard to chew with my mouth closed when I'm breathing hard during a walk break. I'm sure I looked really attractive!!

From what I have been running in down here I would MOST DEFINATELY BE PREPARED FOR A REPEAT OF DISNEY MARATHON THIS YEAR.

In fact when I saw the weather forcast on weather.com I thought it was a repeat of Jan. :lmao:

Not really funny, but put it this way, in January at mile 2 I WAS SOAKED, the humidity was horrible. On that positive note, exactly 7 days from now I will be laying by the pool at PO with DS's and DH, enjoying a cocktail (no I am not waiting till I get to JR) and relishing all that I have accomplished this year. Going out for last LR tonight but waiting till about 7, cause it is BLAZING HOT!!!!!!:cool2: right now.

Hello,
I'm not a Wisher but I am a DISer. I have a question about the Minnie expo and you all seem to be the experts for this event. On the disneysports website I just found a link that says "view the champions ladies night schedule". It takes you to a Disneyworld.com page that mentions nothing about the race. Have any of you found the schedule?
Thank you in advance!

Hi all!

I did my LR of 7 miles early this morning, 70:24. Ran to my Dad's house and back - I had called him last night to tell him he should come outside and wave to me, but he said it would be too early. :rotfl: So instead he put a bottle of water for me in his mailbox! I thought that was very cute, and it really helped me get back home.

I wanted to mention that Sport Beans are on sale now at Target! I have never tried them, but I got three single packs for 80 cents each. The guy at the register looked at me and said "sport jelly beans?" I explained what they were, and he smiled and replied "I wonder when they'll start making sport Ho-Ho's?"

:rotfl2:

Vitamin water is also on sale for $1 each. I love Target.

[less than] One week to go!!!!

Hi Katie! Here is the only thing I have found so far - it doesn't have any kind of schedule for ladies' night, only the schedule for the expo speakers and demonstrations:

expo schedule

Maybe someone else will have more info for you. :goodvibes

ETA: I guess they goofed up on the link, I see what you mean. I went to the link above and then filled in the text from the link target and here is what I came up with!
