Minne Marathon Team List

HI Ladies! Just wanted to let you know that the WISH team will get a 20% discount from runningskirts.com for the month of April. They have the "Minnie" polkadot (red w/ white dots) skirt and even a maternity skirt!

There is a thread on the main events board if anyone is interested...

Stacie

Angie!!!! Are YOU doing both the 5K and the 15K??? I have you down for the 5K with your mom and your DH for the 15K. Please let me know if I need to change that!

Robin, There are no official pace people, but we definitely have some in your speed range. If they don't contact you before, please spot the bright green shirts at the start and come introduce yourself!

Stacie and Liz, I am a definite back of the pack walker who will be there to give you lots of encouragement!! I am usually the last WISHer to cross the finish line at any of these events!! Coming back from this injury will really have me pushing to not be swept! :goodvibes Anne

Robin-Not quite at that pace yet, but it is my goal for the Minnie-On the TM I can keep up a 9:05 pace, but it is harder outside-Let's keep that run together in mind though. I'll keep working on improving-this is my first race and I just started running in January-had been a fast walker for many years.

Anyone else run at the 8:45-9:00 pace?

Hey, i'm training at the mo at 9.30/mile but in the 5 mile race last weekend i ran 8.50ish so will be hoping to be able to keep that up for the minnie. Ultimate aim in to complete in around 90mins before the heat gets me. Will see you at the start huddle!

WISH Meet - Not to add more confusion to where to have it, but for people who won't have a car, it's not easy to get to otehr resorts or the BW. It'd be a lot easier to meet at DtD. Just a thought.

I know its not easy to get to another resort from a resort, but it really is not VERY hard. If you are already at a park just hop on a bus to the hotel you want to go to. If you are at Downtown Disney, just take the bus to that particular hotel. If you are at a resort, think what area or park is the closest to you and take a bus there, then get off and take a bus to the other resort. Like if I am at POP I would take a bus to Hollywood Studios and then get on a bus to Port Orleans Riverside. We do this all the time... I take my car to WDW, but park it after I check in and don't touch it again until I leave. I leave the driving to Disney. If anyone needs help with this just let me know.:thumbsup2

DH is going to join us for the 15K! :cool1: He won't get in until late Friday night and has to leave Sunday night (my flight isn't until Monday) but glad he'll be there. Please add Patrick (tiggerspal222) and we're staying at CBR.

Anne & Stacie - I'm still going to need my friends at the back of the pack since his time is far better than mine seeing as he runs. We'll keep each other moving along! :goodvibes

[Anne

Yes, I AM SOOOOOOO SORRY , PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!

I am doing both and DH had to drop out, his back is hurt again :sad2:

Do they have pace people at all that do the Minnie 15K? If not is anyone that runs a 8:45-9:00 mile pace interested in running with me? I know I can keep the pace with my Garmin but would love to run with someone.

Robin

This would have been my goal this year, last year I did 8:58 pace, but I had to have back surgery this year. Amy and Scott who post on the weekly threads are doing MINNIE and seem to be averaging around this pace. Like someone else said, please!!! make sure you come introduce yourself and we can hook you guys up!! Who knows maybe by then I will be there. :confused3

smileyk8 & Joan---Thanks for posting.....If you are interested in running together I would definitely be interested. I know I can keep my pace, I would just love someone to chat with and make sure I don't slow down.

angie---I will introduce myself. I was at Marathon weekend and saw all the green shirts and wanted to say something, but I am SO shy. I did thank some WISH fans on the course, but am not very good at making small talk. But I am very excited for the Minnie, I can't wait to meet you guys.

Robin

We're doing The MINNIE!

DH (in a long, convoluted story) has agreed that this is important. I have airfare and we're booked at Pop. WOOHOO! Add us to the list!

I am SO looking forward to meeting my WISH teammates at my FIRST RACE EVER! :cool1:

We won't have a car and there are two of us, so if anyone is interested in sharing transport, we'd love to share!

We are doing both the 5K and the 15K.

I'm so excited!

Yeah...:yay: More WISHers at the Minnie!!

I'm at All Star Sports, I don't think I see anyone there yet, but am willing to share a ride with a few others.

This is growing into a HUGE WISH event!!! Soooo excited for these races and we're only about a month away :goodvibes:

Best of luck to everyone during the next few weeks of training :)

I'm so excited!

Tracy, we were originally at All-Star Sports but switched to Pop, in part because the Grand Slam pool at sports is closed for refurb 4/21-5/15, according to Allears.net.

I have to get ready!:cool1:

Ms. Mightyduck...thanks for the info. That's quite alright about the pool. I don't really use the pool while I am there and I'll get there Friday afternoon and leave Sunday afternoon. I got a better rate at All-Star. If I wasn't going to WDW in 4 days then maybe I would switch. Plus, maybe it will be more quiet there than normal.

I hope it is quiet for you! You need your racing rest.

DH said to me last year when we were at the Beach Club, "No one goes on vacation to use the pool!" I had scheduled a "free" afternoon for lounging at Stormalong Bay.

Four days! Have a great time! :yay:
