Minivans in AUG? Does pricing go down

We are going to WDW in Aug (14). I have made ressies for a minivan for the 10 days we will be there and got a price of around $500. This seems a little high as we didnt even pay that much during Christmas for the same ammount of time. The problem I am having is the "deals" only are out now that run through July 31st. HAs it been anyones experience that the prices go down for Aug as it is not a busy season? We do prefer to have the van pick up at the airport and not have to ride a van as DS is in a wheelchair and the fewer times we have to load re load etc the better. Thanks. Oh we have AP's and are AAA adn Disney Visa holders . Thank you in advance.

I am running into the same problem. We arrive the 13th of August. I booked Thru Dollar, cheapest so far $229/week+all the additional charges. I HATE them though, because they charge for 2nd driver, even if you are a Fastlane member, and it is your spouse. AND they charge extra unless you take the very small minivan (Caravan vs. Grand Caravan for example) Together, that is $10/day more or something. We also have a wheelchair, and 4 kids, so we need the extended size.

We prefer National, we pick the vehicle, and spouse drives free (Emerald member). I just wanted to book something, just in case. I have no idea why they are waiting so long this year to drop the rates.

I have every credit card, AAA, Ent book, BJs, Costco, and more to choose from. It takes a couple of hours to try every combination.........

i tried every which way (DVC, CC's, Costco, fastlane/emerald club/etc, & every valid code on mousesavers ) ~
Dollar is still lowest for us (using KISS3 code).
miniva for 8/21 thru 8/30 (10 days):
$229 week, $39.99 for 3 extra days ~ totalling base rate of $349.96/$436.07 with fees & taxes.

i've been able to get lower rates in past years, as the dates get closer........but this is a "livable" rate (for now )

That is the same rate and code I have for August, we did the same homework. Just remember, if you need an "extended" minivan, to tack on the extra fee. And if you want 2 drivers, add some more. I just pray National comes around soon with their summer rates for minivans, for August.

Oh well, I will just keep hoping that they come out with "deals" for August soon. I tried for hours using different codes on different sites but it was still rather hihg. Oh well, Thanks again. I will post here if anything drops. Please do the same. Thanks again.
