Minimum to add-on. Is it really 25???

OK, I already know the answer to this question but thought maybe someone might know of a loophole I could use or someone I could suck up to. Through adding on and our original purchase we've ended up with 380 points, kind of a weird number. I want to buy 20 more points just to round it up to 400. Any way I can make this happen???

25 is the minimum.

(if you are really obsessive-compulsive about getting to 400 exactly, you could sell a 50 pt contract and buy a 70 pt add-on or whatever...but it would be more expensive... )

also, you now have the option of adding up to 24 pts per use year for $15 per pt at the 7 month window.

I don't mean to get off the topic of the original question and I apologize for doing so. I see that Charles said you can add up to 24 points for $15 each at the 7th month window. Wondering exactly what that means....if I need say 4 extra points (or whatever up to 15) for a stay, does that mean at 7 months I can call and get those additional points at $15 each for that one time use? I am a complete newbie and just getting under contract so I just want to make sure I know all I can. Thanks.

let's say you make a 6 night reservation but want 7 nights and don't have enough pts for the last saturday - you have 20 pts available but need 4 more to book the room. in that case, at 7 months out you can call and - if there is availability - purchase 4 one-time-use pts to have MS complete that 7 night reservation for $60 (4 x $15).

Not sure how someone did it, but recently a BLT contract showed up on the OCC web site for only 10 points. Both wdrl and I noticed it.

I thought the minimum to add was 50. I've been searching the timeshare store for 25 point contracts because that is what we can afford to add on next year. I would probably rather buy directly thru disney. Are you able to choose your uy when adding on thru disney?

The minimum is 25. If you buy from Disney and choose to finance, the minimum is then 50.

Minimum add-on is 25 if you pay cash, if you finance 50, if you want the price discounts for points it varies from time to time, sometimes at 50 sometimes at 100 minimum.

As to the mention above about a 10 point contract showing up on the OCC website, that is something that should be impossible because Disney has never sold a less than 25 point contract and thus there should not be one for less than that in the resale market.

As to choosing use year, Disney does not let you choose for an add-on. You automatically get existing use year except that you can request and get a new one if you purchase the same amount of points as a new purchaser is required to buy.

Re: the 10-pt BLT contract, perhaps some of the initial BLT owners were allowed to add on less than 25 points due to the impact of the 2010 point reallocation. It wouldn't surprise me if one or more BLT owners complained about being short a few points given that many of them stated they were shown only the 2009 point chart when they purchased.

That's what I was guessing.

wdrl also pointed out it could also be a typo. There are a handful of BLT contracts on the OCC that have units that don't exist at BLT. The unit numbers looked more like either SSR or AKV. Since the Bay Lake Tower is clearly typed out, so they must be BLT contracts. Just that they have an invalid unit so I'm not sure how Disney determines the number of points sold for a unit.

There is one other case I've seen of a contract smaller than 25 points but it was due to an add-on at one of the sold out resorts. Disney can split up contracts they get through ROFR but they cannot combine contracts if they are for different Units at that resort. Someone wanted to add on at a sold out resort but Disney didn't have enough points available within the same Unit. So the owner ended up with two contracts, one for almost the full amount of points and another one that made up the difference. I don't remember the details but it was something like this: the owner wanted to purchase 50 points but Disney could only do it by selling them one 40-pt contract and another 10-pt contract.
