Minimum 4 night stay- question about discounts

From what I understand one of the first things you have to do in planning your wedding is booking the 4 night stay. Being that you have to book a year in advance, you aren't going to have any codes to use for your room and or package.

Are you able to apply codes that you find later onto your preexisting reservation?

Yes you most certainly can. You just call if/when you find an available code and they will adjust the price. And you are right; booking the room is pretty much the first thing as they won't really give you the time of day over at DFTW if you haven't done so.
