Honesly..... why is it when I told people in the past.. "We're off for 4 nights to Boston / Washington / NY or even Las Vegas..." We always got "wow, luck you!"

But tell them you're going to Orlando for 4 nights and they think you've lost the plot...it's only a couple of hours more more ....

I know it's mad but hey.. you only live once....and the plot.. who needs it anyway!:dance3:

I agree I have done plenty of long weekends to the states before. I don't understand what's wrong with going to Orlando for a few days. Sounds great to me. Enjoy!

Sounds good to me:thumbsup2

I often say that to people who go Christmas shopping in NY, that I'd rather go to Orlando and do it in the warmth (well a lot warmer then NY anyway)!;)

Are these the same people that say things like 'Why are you going there AGAIN?'

I agree!

We went for 7 nights last may no regrets.

You hit the ground running so it feels longer.

My FIL worked there for a while so myself and DH used to get a cheap flight and go for a few days here and there - it was great, we only did the things that we were desperate to do and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! This was pre kids mind you - not sure I'd do it with them in tow! lol

We did a 4 night microtrip to Disney to watch a Shuttle go up and though it was hectic it was more than worth it.

In one way it's good as you don't fully acclimatise to the time zone before you get back so the lousy jet lag when you get home is less. At least that how it was for us.

I never thought we would go for less than two weeks - I was always of the opinion that if you're flying that kind of distance you need to make the most of it.

However we are now squeezing in a cheeky 7 night trip to "mop up" what we missed last year so I have changes my outlook completely. You only really lose 4 hours of the day with a 9 hour flight and you're losing sleep rather than time on the way back so why not! 14 days felt like a long time too so I think a short trip will be just right for us this year :)

Always good to know there's likeminded fun loving people out there... unfortunately I don't seem to come across many of them here!!

I've never even thought about doing less than 2 weeks before. You've now got me thinking, off I go to get some prices :lmao:

Go for it! We are actually quite sensible people .. but as we were able to actually use our Virgin miles it was too much of a bargain.. it would have been a crime not to take advantage... well that's the story I'm sticking to! :littleangel:

All going well we should be moving into our first home in mid July so can't afford 2 weeks away, especially not the spending money! If we get a decent price or even a cheeky late deal we may just be able to afford a shortened trip :goodvibes Now to convince my other half...

I like how everyone thinks on here :thumbsup2

We have done 7/8/9 nights lots of time as sometimes that's all we can fit in and we rather do that not go at all. :thumbsup2

We also did 5 nights and not only was it our shortest trip I was also 33 weeks pregnant with DD :rotfl: We still loved it and would do it again :)

We booked a "cheap" week in April, no hire car, no universal etc, escalated to 2 weeks with everything lol! Booked to go for end of next october but don't think I can wait 17 months, you've got me thinking again now! :rolleyes1

Lol, I'm the same, wouldn't mind but I'm forever putting off things that need doing in the house and just keep saying 'oh well, you only live once'! I love the Epcot flower & garden festival and it's a really good price at the end of march, trouble is would have to book 'again' by 1st July to get the good offers! :rolleyes2
