I know each person is allowed 2 bottles of wine or 6 beers. Has anyone ever tried to bring on the little mini bottles of liquor? Like the one shot bottles, in case we wanted to mix a drink in our room? Or will they take those and keep til the end of the cruise as well?

Per DCL's policy, hard liquor is not allowed to be brought on the ship. You may find people who have snuck on the mini bottles and gotten away with it, but you cannot count on this since it is against the DCL policy.

Just FYI for the OP, the no liquor policy is a fairly new one. If you obsessively read old trip reports like I do, you'll find lots of references to bringing full-sized liquor bottles on board -- but that's because it was allowed (with bottle limits) under the old policy.

Didn't I read somewhere that this all came about because it was found out teens were having access to the liquor and having stateroom parties with under age drinking? I personally know one person who got caught doing this years ago and was banned from cruising Disney again because she was allowing the underage teens to drink in her stateroom :confused3

I think DCL wanted to sell more booze.

Ok! Thank you all! @Jess_S , I think that must be where I was getting it from. I just knew I kept reading people saying stuff about mixing their drinks in their rooms! Guess we won't be taking them!

There are a lot of theories, but FWIW Disney never came out and said 'this is why we are doing it'. :(

I'll be bringing mini wine bottles on board. Getting tired of my full size Prosecco bottles not fitting in the fridge, even on a slant. They don't stay as cold in the ice buckets.
DH is already in mourning, not being able to bring his small bottle of scotch on board next week for our B2B.
I'm with the previous poster- I just think they want to sell more liquor....

Thanks for the reminder on number of bottles. I'm fine with two minis. Just enough for me to sit and sip on the balcony.....
