Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

the slacktide of otter.

It's funny because with my accent, the backside of water would not rhyme with the slacktide of otter lol It'd be more like the slacktide of order

Gotta love the Jungle Cruise and the corny jokes :thumbsup2

only here people, only here....Memom, you crack me up!!:lmao:

I love the NYTimes article - it really does show the ridiculous of it for you. I am sorry. I hope the exposure does help make it better for you and the kids!

Love Jungle Cruise ride; thanks for taking me along. The commentary (yours) certainly added to the fun!:goodvibes

You'd think those guys would get the point! :rotfl:

Those Jungle Cruise jokes well always make us laugh. Sadly, we're usually the only ones laughing along. Everyone else is too serious.

Now I know why I had to read a timeor two and then go back and figure it out. ;) I knew what she meant but in my head it was not coming out right. :lmao: Duh the Accent. :lmao:

You'd think those guys would get the point! :rotfl:
They always get it in the end. :rotfl2:

Those Jungle Cruise jokes well always make us laugh. Sadly, we're usually the only ones laughing along. Everyone else is too serious.

I think we need a big DIS Jungle cruise meet.
Then we could laugh and say it along with the skipper. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one getting the jokes, and if I laugh too loud or too long I will get " the look" from other passangers.

Thank you for taking me on a ride down the jungle cruise this evening! I just love all of its cheesy goodness! :goodvibes

Also I wanted to say WAY TO GO Bella on ditching the paci! That is going to be an epic battle around here any day now and I'm so happy to hear that it wasn't too traumatizing for either baby or parent!

Oh and welcome Abby! You are in good company around here with regards to taking babies to Disney. I took my little one at 4, 6, 10, and 18 months and he is going to go again at next month. I would definitely read MeMom and BrooklynnsMommy's trip reports, they were really helpful to me before I took my first trip with my little man. :)

It's a good thing we had the front claws taken out of our kitty.
If we hadn't, the way she is tearing around here tonight everything would be torn up just like that kitty sign at Jungle Cruise!

I love Jungle Cruise!! I really do feel like DBF and I are always the only ones laughing on our boat whenever we go. Last time we cruised, literally NO ONE else laughed at the backside of water. (:sad2:, I know.) So it was just us, and the guide was like...well that's pretty pitiful.

I love the Jungle Cruise, there is something comforting about the same jokes over and over again.

I love the jungle cruise! I hear it is really neat at night but have never done it. I have got to start paying attention in the queue lines. You had some really neat pictures.

Jungle Cruise is the best! I'm corny myself so corny jokes are my favorite. Easy to please I guess! ;) I love that Brooklynn is such an old pro! :thumbsup2

Reelmom: I am so glad Matilda is on the mend! I was way behind, so I just read about her accident and it broke my heart. It hurts when they are in pain and don't understand what's going on. One of our dogs recently had to wear the cone of shame after surgery; he destroyed two of them.

MeMom I am sure you deserved a better evaluation than you received, but I'm glad you are relatively content with your scores. That lesson sounded like a lot of fun! That story from NYTimes was appalling. Hopefully TN fixes what they are doing.

I love your pictures from Jungle Cruise. I've never been on that ride. But I adore corny jokes, so I am sure it is right up my alley!

:lmao:at your commentary on the Jungle Cruise. It sounds like we all should ride it together!!! It's so much fun - even my kids are starting to roll their eyes at the jokes, but they still laugh.

I like your little warning to Abby!!! Hang with us Abby - we are a ton of fun and a wealth of knowledge around here!!!

Ah the good ol' Jungle Cruise....the jokes might be corny and repetitious, but I do love it so! And I have to say, I personally find that each skipper puts their own spin on things so things aren't always exactly the same! A fun and relaxing ride for the whole family!

And yes, a million little "chambers of death" filled with Santa's and snowmen and reindeer! Just to get you in the Christmas spirit! ;)

I still love the Jungle Cruise! Those silly jokes still make me giggle.

One of these days Brooklynn is going to actually catch on to the jokes, and she will crack up. She loves to laugh!

I kinda want to ride the teacups in January. I'd have to ride with Kailyn because there is no telling WHAT kind of spinning Mike or my dad would do!

I love Jungle Cruise. I definitely laugh at all the corny jokes!

Yes, I think your dad would be having you going as fast as they would spin!

Hahahaha... funny captions tonight!
Brooklynn probably has the Jungle Cruise memorized word for word by now!

She probably knows a good bit of it. :thumbsup2

Love Jungle Cruise and I don't even remember a couple of the things in your post from the queues (I assume?). The menu and the kitten thing.

Love your humor in your writing. I know all about the slackside of otter!

I'm just a bit goofy sometimes. I'm glad you caught the otter/water reference.

It's funny because with my accent, the backside of water would not rhyme with the slacktide of otter lol It'd be more like the slacktide of order

Gotta love the Jungle Cruise and the corny jokes

So you guys say water like (w)order?
People say it differently depending on their accent, for sure.
In Bella's part of the country, they must say 'watah'. ;)

only here people, only here....Memom, you crack me up!!

Glad you enjoyed the little trip.

I am pretty glad to have the third portion of my observation series over with now.

You'd think those guys would get the point!

Those Jungle Cruise jokes well always make us laugh. Sadly, we're usually the only ones laughing along. Everyone else is too serious.

The driver really does make the difference on that ride. ::yes::

Now I know why I had to read a timeor two and then go back and figure it out. I knew what she meant but in my head it was not coming out right. Duh the Accent.

And how do you say watah in your part of the world.

Jungle Cruise meet in December? :santa: We could shock the daylights out of an unsuspecting cast member with some craziness. :rolleyes1

Bella did better than I thought she was. I was feeling pretty bad when I left her to go on my trip and she was about to fast Bella the Beast that night.

Helping each other have better trips is such a good thing. :)

It's a good thing we had the front claws taken out of our kitty.
If we hadn't, the way she is tearing around here tonight everything would be torn up just like that kitty sign at Jungle Cruise!

My cat is afraid of his own shadow. He would be scared to death of a kitten, no matter of its size.

You deserve a good cruise next time. :goodvibes

I love the Jungle Cruise, there is something comforting about the same jokes over and over again.

And the cruise is nice and long, too, so it's not like standing in a line for a 37 seond ride.

I love the jungle cruise! I hear it is really neat at night but have never done it. I have got to start paying attention in the queue lines. You had some really neat pictures.

We have done it at night.
It is a little spooky. Ooooooo-weeeee-oooooo!

Jungle Cruise is the best! I'm corny myself so corny jokes are my favorite. Easy to please I guess! I love that Brooklynn is such an old pro!

As you may have noticed, my silliness can rank pretty high on the kernel, as well. ;)

Reelmom: I am so glad Matilda is on the mend! I was way behind, so I just read about her accident and it broke my heart. It hurts when they are in pain and don't understand what's going on. One of our dogs recently had to wear the cone of shame after surgery; he destroyed two of them.

You have never cruised on those great rivers??? :scared1:
Maybe you are just in de-Nile.

That Jungle Cruise plan sounds good. :woohoo:

We will not be talking snowglobes ---- understand? ;)

Occasionally I read that they try to make the cast members stick strictly to the script, but I like them to have a little tiny bit of leeway. They need to stay squeaky clean, but still have their own humor elements to it, in my opinion.

And how do you say watah in your part of the world.

Jungle Cruise meet in December? :santa: We could shock the daylights out of an unsuspecting cast member with some craziness. :rolleyes1

Most everyone says watah but since I am from the land of xoktenox so maybe a combo... otder???:lmao:

I think a Jungle cruise meet would be great!!!!! The skipper may jump offf and make a run for it. :lmao:

OOOHhhhh but :rotfl2:

In Bella's part of the country, they must say 'watah'. ;)

Bella must be from Boston! :rotfl: I am pretty sure I must say "watah." I really never notice how I speak till someone points it out to me. When I was on the phone with Katie once, she said that she loved how I say "garden." I actually watched something on the Ellen show a few weeks ago -- there was a huge fire in an apartment building and a Boston firefighter caught a little boy from a third floor window. When he was talking, I kept on catching how he spoke and thinking, "gosh, I sound like that." He said "ahms," "fiah," etc., which is totally what I say! It's funny because people from the Boston area, like me, and people from the western part of the state sound distinctly different.

I was looking at your baby ticker and I think the last one is a watermelon! :scared1::scared1:

Are you are a pahk the cah in the yahd girl? My friends mother despite being in the south for 40 years still had a New England accent until the day she passed.
While she was in the hospital after a stroke an Indian doctor came to evaluate her speech and declared her in need of therapy . Luckily her daughter ( my friend ) intervened saying she talked like that all her life, no use trying to chagne it now. :lmao: Between the accent of the Doctor and the Southern/New England there was something lost in translation. :lmao:

OOOHhhhh but :rotfl2:

I am from the south, and I sound pretty country to you guys, I know, but I could introduce you to some people around here who sound a lot worse. Southerners tend to ay-ud syllables when they talk, so there comes out like thay-ur. I think I am a little mix of dialects, since I moved around when I was younger. Living in Florida, you are around a lot of northeners, so that influenced my speech, I am sure. Although you guys may have me pegged as soon as you hear my country twang, people from around here have tried to figure out where I am from because of my mixed accent. Better known here as ax-ee-yunt. ;)

I hope we can make it to the Jungle Cruise meet!!!

We'll have to coordinate that for when everyone is there. We took over a Small World boat, so I think we can capture a cruise boat, too.

I hate hearing myself talk on video. I sound like a total country bumpkin. Where your talk is taahk, my talk is tawk. I have a kid for Reading and Language this year who puts about five syllables in every word. He is sooo country. His twin sister, however, is in my homeroom, and she tawks just as normally(?) ;) as the rest of us. I'm not sure how they were raised in the same place by the same people and have such different accents.

Yeah, at this point, Bella has a little bit of Bahstan in her. Her r's will come eventually, though, and she'll be just as kuuntry as the ray-ust of us. :goodvibes

I think this was the point in the day that Jill, John, and Brooklynn were going to ride Big Thunder Mountain, and I was going to hang out with Bella at the playground.

This could mean there are a few other people on the ride.

Bella loves to go through the tunnel

and down the slide.

DisneySummer20112ndset890.jpg

I can't remember if J, J, and B got to ride, but for some reason I am thinking this is the time they came right back either because the wait was too long, the ride was down, or maybe they just used Fastpasses and got back quickly. I just seem to be recalling that Bella and I were not here very long.

I think this area is so cutely themed.

What used to be our Pop stop.

DisneySummer20112ndset902.jpg

That was not our Pop stop in October, however. They had that blocked off, so maybe they are getting it ready to be the stop for AoA. I'll tell you a story about how this affected my October trip a little later.
