Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

slightly_obsessed.... thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. It is tough seeing the people you love in pain.

Memom... I hope you had a great time with your favorite girls. Pretty soon you'll be back in WDW spending a lot of time with at least one of your favorite girls. :lovestruc

If you have a moment/thought/prayer to spare, I'd appreciate one for my grandpa. He's had a rough year, bouncing between the hospital and rehab facility for pneumonia, a broken hip and some other health issues, but he seemed to take a turn the worse this past weekend. The prognosis isn't good; when he swallows, stuff goes down the wrong tube so he is unable to eat or take his medicine (specifically his Parkinson medicine). When last asked he didn't want a feeding tube. I went to see him in KC the last couple days, he seems to be aware at times that I was there, but I don't know if he recognized me and he can't vocalize what he wants. I think he's miserable and upset. I'd just like some peace for him and if this is truly the end that he passes quickly and without pain. I think he's ready to go be with my grandma. Anyway, I'd appreciate any good thoughts or prayers you could throw his way.

I teared up while reading this because your story reminded me so much of my own grandpa and his passing. When he hit a point that he couldn't care for himself any longer, he said goodbye to my mom and her sisters, told them it was time for him to go be with 'mother' (my grandma, who had died the year before) and he passed within a few days. I think he willed himself to go, he was just ready. Prayers for you, your family and your grandfather

It sounds like Jill and the girls are ready for a wonderful weekend! I'm glad to hear that you had fun at the program, what a nice thing to do in honor of the grandparents!

Thank you for sharing some wonderful Epcot photos! They look so bright and cheerful, you can almost believe you are there!

I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend, and don't spend too much time on schoolwork!

There were grandparents of all shapes, sizes, and colors there. It was so sweet to see the kids come and and begin to wave as they saw the special people who were there to share their day. Grandparents were smiling, cameras were clicking, and video was rolling. ;) Brooklynn was 'tickled pink' that she got to leave school early. It looked like her teacher was only keep 2-3 kids, as everyone else busted out with their grandparents! :woohoo:

Even though the trip report is in Epcot right now, I am going to go find some Magic Kingdom pictures to celebrate its birthday today.

I don't have a ton of schoolwork this weekend, but I do have some - maybe about two hours total. I'll do it in spurts throughout today and tomorrow.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the program at Brooklynn's school!
Okay, I have a little thing for these dog buddies movies, Marc makes fun of me but I always want to watch them. I haven't seen any of them yet but I'm secretly so excited to have baby on the way because now I have an excuse to rent and buy them. I really want to see Spooky Buddies, it looks adorable!

We are always glad to contribute to the classroom libraries every year during the book fairs. Jill picked on for me to give to Bella's class, too, so both girls made contributions to happy reading ahead for lots of kids! :goodvibes

Brooklynn hardly moved a muscle during the whole movie! You will enjoy buying movies for your little one and sharing them with him/her over and over and over. :)

Aw, what a fun day with your special girls MeMom!

Yep, I kidnapped them both and spent the afternoon playing Potato Heads, watching movies, etc.

The best part was the animal show in the afternoon. Brooklynn started telling the audience about her animals, and Bella decided to get in on the show, too. They would pick an animal, stand on some kiddie chairs they had lined up (both wearing Princess high heels and looking very royal), and tell about the animal in true Conservation Station form. Brooklynn's details were accurate.

Bella's descriptions were more like, 'Dis a cwocadial. Him roaw roaw roaw! (as she makes a chomping motion) Dair my purshe!' (as she suddenly sees one of her purses in a pile of dress-up accessories. :rotfl: I wish I would have taken some video. They are little nuts!

I'm finally here!!

Hello MeMom and Jill...and everyone else!

Well MeMom...DH got a job in British Columbia so we moved half way across the country last month. (For those not familiar with Canadian Geography we moved about the same distance as Detroit, MI to Spokane, WA...a mere 2000 miles!! )

Now we're terribly far from Disney World

but........

we're about as far here to Disneyland as we were there to Disney World so I think it's a fair trade!

We've never been to Disneyland before so, of course we're planning a trip there in the summer!

In fact, we're aiming to be at the Disneyland resort on DD's 9th birthday so she is beyond thrilled!

Just wanted to update you and let you know I'm all caught up and ready for more!

Have fun at the beach Jill and family!

You can be our official Disneyland correspondent, then, and keep DIStown apprised of everything going on on that coast. :thumbsup2

Glad to have you back! :)

Brooklynn is getting more and more excited. I asked her what we were going to eat down there, and she said, "Mickey waffles!"

It's hard to see those who cared for us become so weak and dependent on others. :sad1:

It seems like men have an especially hard time when they lose their longtime spouses.

Happy Birthday, Magic Kingdom!

Hope it is a great day in Magic Kingdom for all who are lucky enough to be there on this special day! Rumor has it that all of DIStown will be there for the 50th, so put it on your calendars now!

Wouldn't that be something if all of DIS town gathered for the 50th? Putting it on my calendar now. :goodvibes

Hope you have a great weekend. You and Brooklynn will be eating Mickey waffles soon! :)

What a lovely way to spend your Friday, MeMom! Brooklyn's program sounds darling and shopping for books is always fun! :goodvibes Hope they have a great time at the beach!

Your pictures for MK's 40th are perfect! I will have to sing my own off-key version of Happy Birthday to it today. Tonight is Wish Upon a Star for us at Chelsea's high school -- an appropriate activity for today, I think. :goodvibes

Great pictures, MeMom! I hope you have time to get all your schoolwork done this weekend and still find some time for yourself. :goodvibes

Happy Birthday to the Magic Kingdom! I'm so envious of people who are there, making memories right now!

Love all those pictures MeMom! Great way to show a celebration.

I just grabbed a few. I didn't have time to go through the thousands that I have!

I'll be 64, if I live that long. Maybe I'll have more grandkids by then. ;)

Brooklynn and Bella called me from the beach this morning. They were excited about seeing a boat go by. I know they will have such a fun time this week. :lovestruc

The morning will be devoted to watching Magic Kingdom, and after the castle show at ten, I'll drag out school stuff.

I am jealous of the people who are there, but I kind of have the best of both worlds - I can be there now on my laptop, but I still have our trip to look forward to!

I love your MK pictures - the one with Tigger and the sunglasses is so cute! :goodvibes

Happy 40th birthday, Magic Kingdom!!! :wizard:

Tigger stole my shades at Crystal Palace.
He thought he looked pretty cool! :cool2:

You'll be there for the 50th, right? :cool1:

I wish I was at MK today. But, alas, here I am at work until 10:15pm. :sad2:

Glad you had a good time with the girls.

I laughed about the pledge of allegiance story. :rotfl:

When I get back from WDW i'm going to be on the hunt for some books for you! :)

I love the story of Bella telling her story then finding her purse:cutie: So cute!

I want to be there for the 50th also!! That would be so great. We have to work on that.:goodvibes

I just hope I get to be there in 25 days as planned.

She was a chatterbox yesterday. She fell asleep on the couch in the afternoon while watching Squishy Buddies. ;)

We all hope you get to go, too! ::yes::

Love Brooklynn's pledge! Those Justins are very cute!
I knew a boy that said, "lizardy and justice for all"

There isn't much easy about reciting the PoA for the little ones except they get to do it every morning so they do get rather good at it!

I've gotten several pictures of the girls today. I know they are having a big time at the beach.

More to come as I find them.

I loved all the Magic Kingdom photo's. The food pictures made me want a midnight snack.

I was all for planning for the 50th anniversary until I realized how old I would me. I might need to rent a scooter in order to keep up. My camera will be ready to take a group picture of all your grandkids. Brooklynn will be a teenager at the 50th anniversary.

Oh, I'm loving all these Magic Kingdom pictures... If only I was there right now. Happy Birthday MK! And I'm totally marking my calendar for the 50th, though... I will probably own Disney by then ;)

So glad I have a trip coming up soon. Those MK pictures have me wanting to go back now!!!
