Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

We do report cards on nine week rotations now. The nine weeks ends the day before we leave for Florida. I am going to be getting my grades done very quickly. :thumbsup2

Sometimes I really drag my feet with stuff like this--a Disney trip would certainly help me hop to it!

Thanks. I got the girls Spooky Buddies, so they watched that a few minutes ago. Bella called it Squishy Buddies. :upsidedow

I saw the ad for that- do you think it is too young for the 10 year old sect?

Brooklynn did a wonderful job saying the Pledge. There were several little girls helping, so I couldn't single her out, but I am guessing she stuck with Justins, since that is how she has practiced it all along.

Super Cute!

We walked up to the big school and got books from the Book Fair and gave Brooklynn's teacher some money to get something she wanted for the class. Brooklynn got a Disney Princess book and an African Cats book. I got one for my classroom on the Chinese tomb warriors. Sooo, in a sneak way, we had a little Magic Kingdom, a little Animal Kingdom, and a little Epcot on our morning. :)

You are so clever!

Happy Birthday, Magic Kingdom!

Hope it is a great day in Magic Kingdom for all who are lucky enough to be there on this special day! Rumor has it that all of DIStown will be there for the 50th, so put it on your calendars now!

IMG_4112.jpg

Great photos--I haven't seen some of those characters in parades! Great shots!

I heard MK was packed for the 40th--I can only imagine what the 50th will look like!

I am putting it on my calendar now! :cool2:

I'm a day late but Happy Birthday Magic Kingdom! :cake: :bday:

I love your tribute! Great pictures!

Also - great news about the Disney classroom contest!!! So exciting!! :cool1:

I loved your MK pictures. I'm so glad we are going in January because those made me want to be there sooooo badly!

Wow...OMGGGGG...those MK food pics...I'm drooling!!! Looks so delicioussss!!

All of the flashback pictures are great and have got me aching to be there again!

All of those Magic Kingdom food pictures just made me soooo hungry right now!

I can't believe that it's been 40 years!

Quick update - at downtown Disney now. Earls holidaySandwich is back but the line is around the side out the door. Won't be lunch today :(

Great MK pics:thumbsup2.

I wonder how it was there today.

It looked very crowded at opening, and I got the term 'insane' from one friend who was there.

I loved all the Magic Kingdom photo's. The food pictures made me want a midnight snack.

I was all for planning for the 50th anniversary until I realized how old I would me. I might need to rent a scooter in order to keep up. My camera will be ready to take a group picture of all your grandkids. Brooklynn will be a teenager at the 50th anniversary.

I may be scootering, too, in ten years. I hope that I have more than two grandgirls for you to take a picture of. At this rate, I'll have great grandchildren from them before I'll have grandkids from these stubborn boys.

Oh, I'm loving all these Magic Kingdom pictures... If only I was there right now. Happy Birthday MK! And I'm totally marking my calendar for the 50th, though... I will probably own Disney by then ;)

I'm all for you owning Disney! :thumbsup2

So glad I have a trip coming up soon. Those MK pictures have me wanting to go back now!!!

I think I'm glad we changed our dates. Maybe it won't be as crowded in two weeks.

Thanks so much Memom for filling our day yesterday with magical MK photo's.:wizard: Much appreciated.:goodvibes

I just skimmed through and got a few. I wasn't feeling very well, so I didn't have the brain to do any trip updates.

I would absolutely LOVE to be!!! I hope so! :goodvibes

In ten years, our DIS babies and kids will be tween and teenagers. It will be interesting to watch them grow up here between now and then.

Is it strange that every time I see Disney food pics, I want a trip even more?

Not strange at all. I'm looking forward to trying out some new things at F&W in a couple of weeks. Any time I am there, I like to try something brand new. I had my first sushi there and my first lamb. This year, I think I am going for the Fisherman's Pie with lobster and scallops. Lobster I have had, but not scallops.

Great photos--I haven't seen some of those characters in parades! Great shots!

The 50th will be past insane, but we can be there for the morning special activities and them cut out early. :thumbsup2

Wait a minute....
you have a trip coming up soon?
Seems like I know several people that are saying the same thing. :goodvibes

I'm a day late but Happy Birthday Magic Kingdom! :cake: :bday:

Thanks. I have been seeing the girl who was in charge of the contest on the webcam this weekend.

I loved your MK pictures. I'm so glad we are going in January because those made me want to be there sooooo badly!

And January will be a lot less crowded. :thumbsup2

Wow...OMGGGGG...those MK food pics...I'm drooling!!! Looks so delicioussss!!

When you live down there, you can take quick day/weekend trips.

All of those Magic Kingdom food pictures just made me soooo hungry right now!

I can't believe that it's been 40 years!

Yep, and I was there in 1971. Not on opening day, though.

Quick update - at downtown Disney now. Earls holidaySandwich is back but the line is around the side out the door. Won't be lunch today :(

It gets crazy crowded there, doesn't it?

Hi Guys
Just got home from WDW. I will try and post some pics from the 40th tomorrow. To tired now. :) It was crazy crowded at opening Sat but it really flowed well. We stopped and saw Mickey and minnie with less than a 10 min wait then got a place on the sidewalk across from the emporium. Lots of official Disney people around. The train pulled up and after an announcement the characters just flowed off the train and down the stairs then they split up to go both ways around the courtyard area to meet at the start of main street. Also characters came out of the side entrances between the barbershop and fire station and tonys and the hat shop. Then they all marched down main street to the castle. They were playing the major parade music from the last 40 years as they were marching/dancing down. I did nt even try and take the stroller down to the castle into that crowd but watched from crystal palace. I could not hear well but they announced/introduced castmembers from opening day and also castmembers who were there and still were with the company. The fairy godmother was up on the balcony and it turns out she was the original cinderella from opening day! The park was very busy but probably better than summer. We went to EPCOT then and it was PACKED. Between the anniversary, food and wine festival and the 1/2 marathon/5k it was really busy this weekend but again it all seemed to flow much better then in summer.
They gave us a button and the guidemap looked like the old tickets system. It opened up to the current map and then opened farther to show the original park map. OK time for real life then bed. Have a great night!

MeMom- great photo tribute to Mk 40th! I am going to mark my calendar now, I would LOVE to be there for the 50th! Distown is going to take over the place! ;) I was there for AK 10th, and I am planning on being down for Epcot's 30th next year. I think milestone dates are so much fun! :goodvibes

I love the story of Bella telling her story then finding her purse:cutie: So cute!

I want to be there for the 50th also!! That would be so great. We have to work on that.:goodvibes

I just hope I get to be there in 25 days as planned.

I would absolutely LOVE to be!!! I hope so! :goodvibes

I think it would be fun to be there for the 50th!!!! I'll put it on my calender. Just think....10 years...the kids will all be grown and we will (UGH!!!) be older too!! :rotfl::rotfl2:

Good to see you, Scott. I hope you'll make it over to Magic Kingdom on October 16th. More pictures to come soon.

u should try CEO, it is really fun to see the 80's. I cracked up the entire time.

What awesome MK pictures!! That really makes me want to be there NOW!! :)

I will pencil in a "10 years from now" vacation! :) Sounds like a plan!

Loved all the pictures of MK! Sure wish I had been there on Saturday. We will definitely be there for the 50th. Did you know that there is a time capsule at the Boardwalk that is to be open on the 50th? Jeremy and I have been looking at the resort and it is supposed to be near the chandelier in the lobby.

So glad you had a great time with the girls.

Oh, you are getting close MeMom! :yay:

I saw the 'walk down the street' with the past parade music. It was so crowded right there at the hub and on Main Street. As much as I would have liked being there, I'm glad I got to see some of it, but also still have a trip coming up. They tired out on Sunday, and when I checked in, they were back at the house and just stayed there talking. I cut it off. I felt horrible starting Saturday morning and was in and out of sleep for the weekend, so I didn't see much, but I enjoyed what I saw on Saturday.

I will look forward to your pictures and reviews, and we'll all make plans for the 50th - maybe it will be a mega party!

Jill and I were disappointed in ourselves for not making it to the tenth anniversary of Animal Kingdom. I saw the video of the opening and some footage of Joe Rohde and Jane Goodall speaking.

The 50th it is! Maybe by that time I can afford a Poly room. ;)

I think it would be fun to be there for the 50th!!!! I'll put it on my calender. Just think....10 years...the kids will all be grown and we will (UGH!!!) be older too!! :rotfl::rotfl2:

The kids will be thrilled to be out of school.

I think the meet is supposed to be around 6 at the front gate, since some won't be able to get in.

Aw, love the Magic Kingdom montage! I love the feeling of magic you feel when you are there and these pictures gave me a little taste of that. Thanks MeMom. :goodvibes
