Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Here I am! Real life has called and I have missed my Dis friends so much! I have been voting for you every way I can MeMom and also passing it along on FB. I hope you win!! I have read the last couple of updates and am going back farther now. :)

Sure ;)

I made an amazing discovery last night. I already knew that WDW resort prices were less right after New Year's but I noticed that the week before MLK Weekend WL costs about the same as it did after we used the 35% off pin code last year :scratchin And hopefully I'll still get the pin code. I've gotten one around that time every year for a couple years. I actually have one that I can't use sitting on the table taunting me right now  If we go we're gonna try to overlap a few days with Meg :goodvibes I wish we could overlap with you again too!

Yeah, if we could go right at the end of the year and stay on a week, it would be much cheaper. I have to be back in school, though, so that's not going to work for us. We have to go during the busiest time. :crowded:

Morning, all!

Feeling MUCH better today - thank goodness!! Busy day ahead but I wanted to say hi! :)

Good to hear that. Maybe by tomorrow you will be almost 100% again.

I just voted for you:) Your room is really the best and most themed. Throwing a stuffed Mickey on a blackboard doesn't make a room Disney.

Good luck!

You are kind to say so. I won't say mine is the best, but we do like it. The one that is winning, however, in my opinion, is really the least decorated of them all, and I don't really understand that. Like Jill said, the contest is about the room, not the teacher, so any of the other ones are more decorated, as far as I see it.

Love the girls dresses! They are sooo cute.

Bella is too cute as a ballerina. :cutie:

I am anxious to hear how crowded the Poly beach was the night of the fireworks. It was horrible at the contemporary.

The crowd was not as bad as it has been the other times we have been. I think more people are starting to go on the 3rd. That's good for us. ;)

I just realized that I can vote from lots of different computers. At work I use different work stations often. I can make up those 10 votes in no time! :)
Plus the iPad, the phone, the laptop...all my FB friends and co-workers...

I am ON IT!!

Plus this weekend I plan to go look through the box in the garage for some books etc. that I can send you for your class. My kids will be so happy to help other kids especially now that they're "too old for that stuff!"

We will take all the votes we can get. She went up on us pretty quickly today.

Memom,

I voted and got my sister to vote as well!!!! Going to vote from my cell now!!! Here is to hoping you win!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2: 3 weeks from tomorrow I leave and 3 weeks from Saturday you leave hooray!!!

Yes, this is true. 3 is sounding like a wonderful number right now! :dance3:

We miss you, too, when you can't come out and play. :goodvibes

I hope the pictures can bring you some smiles as you catch up.

We will take every vote we can find! :woohoo:

The observation is over, so I feel much 'lighter' now. I know it won't last long, because there is always something waiting around every corner, but at least for now, it feels good. Thanks for all the good thoughts this week. I am ready for the weekend!

A good thing about college, I'm on vacation from December 17 until January 23 :worship: I almost fell over when I heard that :rotfl:

I am glad the "load" has been lifted and that is out of the way.

I voted from my phone and home and work computers. I tried from another work one but it would not let me.

I will make a special plea to some friends.:)

I hope you had a good teaching day. My observation paperwork has been turned in. The lesson is tomorrow. Teaching is the easy part - the paperwork is a beast!

My teaching day was only so-so today. 5th period there was a "fire" (aka one of the students in in-school suspension knocked the fire alarm off of the wall so the fire department had to come) so that took up most of my teaching time. 6th period I just didn't feel prepared enough (my own fault) so I'm getting super prepared for tomorrow and Friday.

Glad to hear your observation is over and you're able to relax now, at least for a short time :goodvibes

I get observed by my field supervisor from my college on Friday. We're working on the Constitution and I already bribed my kids with donuts...I hope it goes well! Only 2 more days until the weekend :thumbsup2

I'm trying to think of everyone possible to vote for you in the classroom contest!

Glad your observation is over. Hopefully, the future hoops they ask you to jump through take less time to prepare for and cause less stress!

I posted on both my school FB and my personal. I will have to log into multiple stations at school tomorrow to see how many times I can vote for you myself. When does the contest end?

Definitely a plus when you are in college. :thumbsup2

One free swim lesson for any family that brings in twenty votes?

I am glad I am not just now leaving school today. That's a sign the load has been lifted a bit. :goodvibes

Mine got gummy worms and sour cherry balls. ;)

Yay for more votes! Your high schoolers can probably vote on their phones.:woohoo:

The contest ends Saturday. Several of us were able to vote at school before it cut us off.

Good idea! I just posted it on my school FB too. All my former students know that I love Disney too, so I asked that they vote for a fellow teacher friend!

'Ohana means family,

and stuff like this.

We had a seat in the corner.
We were joined by Katie and her group, and I am going to let her do the introductions of them, because I have forgotten names and relationships.

DisneySummer20112ndset438.jpg

You could see the castle.

The entertainment.

DisneySummer20112ndset440.jpg

If you have not eaten here, just get on the phone or online right now and make that appointment.

DisneySummer20112ndset441.jpg

I ate about seven thousand noodles and a couple of fields' worth of broccoli.

DisneySummer20112ndset442.jpg

John had been dreaming of this meal for months!

DisneySummer20112ndset443.jpg

The steak was beyond good. I only ate one little shrimp. The server never offered me chicken or pork. He skipped me with both of those, and I didn't want to seem greedy. Those seven thousand noodles filled me up, though, so it was all good. Next time I go, I will make sure I try the chicken and pork.

Coconut races in a crowded dining room.

No, I will not share. It is all mine!

Ice cream and Mickey sprinkles.

DisneySummer20112ndset447.jpg

Fun by the pool.

DisneySummer20112ndset448.jpg

Meet Dave and Kathy. They are the gracious hosts for the evening.

DisneySummer20112ndset449.jpg

They get a room here on the beach several times a year, and they often set up a webcam to share the enjoyment of being in Disney World with those at home. Many of you have watched fireworks thanks to them or listened to the boats out in the lagoon as you kept the webcam going while you were doing mundane chores around the house.

We saw a family that had come all the way from Duckburg to enjoy the fireworks.

Grab a chair or blanket or cheap plastic tablecloth and join us.

The votes are close again! I think you'll edge her out MeMom. :goodvibes You have the advantage of your classroom being more decorated than hers. :thumbsup2

You're only down by 10 the last time I looked! I posted it to my Twitter acct! Let's hope some of my 650 followers vote! :thumbsup2

By the way, if any of you are on Twitter too, I'm Minnie_Moose on there- say Hi! :goodvibes

I'll introduce "my people" :)

It was me, my sister Alice, brother Noah & his friend Carrsan. :) The boys LOVED it. (We did too of course!!). That bread pudding alone is worth it!!!!

We drove back to Pop with no trouble, and we saw more fireworks from the parking lot.

DisneySummer20112ndset474.jpg

At that was that. Independence Day was done. We crashed into a deep Disney sleep in cool rooms.

Mmmmmm, those pictures from Ohana look so good right now....

I love watching Wishes at the Poly. Such a great location for everything.

Everything is so close in the contest, I'll make sure to post on Facebook about voting. :thumbsup2

I am all caught up!!!!!! I posted the link for my friends to vote again on FB. I hope you win.

One free swim lesson for any family that brings in twenty votes?

::yes::

I will try again in the morning to log into another work station and vote again.

Even though we both hsve trips before NYE I am looking forward to seeing NYE fireworks on the beach again. ::yes::

This is what I have been waiting for! :woohoo: I'm majorly drooling. I'm still full from supper, but I'm drooling. Does that make me a glutton? :rolleyes1 I am so glad you all enjoyed Ohana. It certainly has a very special place in our hearts. I'm with you on the noodles and broccoli! YUM! I also love the peanut sauce. Did you try the sauces? I'm a dipper. If you can dip it in something, I probably like it! We also thought the steak was extremely good. It was the most tender steak I have ever eaten. Man, I gotta think about something else or I'm gonna raid the fridge!

I bet those 4th fireworks were awesome from the Poly. Did they have the big panoramic finale like the party ones do? That's the part that looks so good from a distance.

I wish there was a live webcam on right now. I could seriously use a Disney fix.

Makes me sound like a bully! :rotfl:

While I do think our classroom and all of the others are more decorated than hers, she must be a heckuva teacher to have so much support. :teacher:

Thanks for the support. We are proud of our classroom. The kids love looking at the seashells and reading all the ocean/sea life books.

I'm glad you got the text. I remembered Noah, but not the others. I think all of our guys did a good job of getting their money's worth at that meal. I can't wait to share the 'Ohana experience with Trent and Jarvis on New Year's Eve. :woohoo:

Thanks for the votes. We're behind by a little this morning, but we can 'just keep swimming', right? :fish: :upsidedow

I am all caught up!!!!!! I posted the link for my friends to vote again on FB. I hope you win.

So glad you could get some DIS time. Since school has started back, there are some stretches of time where DIStown has become a ghost town! Everyone is busy, busy, busy. My plate just got a little lighter - for a little while, at least. For that, I am thankful. I think I will breathe easier this weekend than any since school has started.

Thanks for the votes, and keep spreading the word!

::yes::

I will try again in the morning to log into another work station and vote again.

Yes, they are incredible - and to be viewing from such a beautiful spot with family and friends is pretty cool, too.

I did try one of the sauces, but I can't recall which one. The whole thing was a meal I dream of often, I can assure you!

Yes, they had an awesome display at the end. You can't appreciate it as much from up close, so that's why we like seeing it from Poly so much.

We need to make sure we let all DIS friends know when anyone has a webcam going. I don't know when Dave and Kathy will be back. They usually go several times a year.

Glad the observation is over and done with for now! We had central office personnel (including our superintendent) in the building yesterday for focus walks. We have done this so often, I am completely over it. I had hardly alluded to it beforehand, so one of my students asked me, "What are we supposed to say if those people come in here?" I told them, "Just be yourselves on your best behavior."

Ohana and Fourth of July fireworks look like a lot of fun!
