Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

I love the empty Main Street! I know some people advocate against using the EMH since they feel is draws crowds. Do you think the parks fill up faster on EMH days/nights MeMom, then on normal hour days?

I also want to see those PP pictures of Jill's family! :)

You sounded pretty good when we talked on the phone yesterday so I guess you really got the best of that tiger.

I bet you all were very kind to Edwin, in turn he made your experience special! I can't wait to see those pics!

Of course you were capturing the moment!!!

I don't envy you at all today in your social studies meeting. I'll be making more jelly fish friends....

I love the reflection picture that you took of Edwin. It looks like it was a beautiful morning. What fun to have a nearly empty park and experience a great CM like Edwin!

We have to remember that a vital part of our trips is how we are treated by the CM's. They can make or break 'the magic' sometimes. Edwin was a nice guy. If you ever meet him, you can tell him you've heard good things about him. :thumbsup2

Wow....talk about going above and beyond! What a nice guy. Can't wait to see those pictures. I will def. keep an eye out for him in October. What a nice way to start your vacation! :goodvibes

Hello, who knew it would take me to page 22 to get caught up. But I've enjoyed it all so far. So glad you weren't hurt too bad in your fall. I think my girls would like your camp. The food sounds wonderful and they say theirs' isn't that great. However, they do really love their camps as campers and as counselors.

Your little ones are so adorable and Bella on the video is just too cute. :cutie:

I love the Main Street pictures and guess what...I may be seeing that in just a few weeks. I think we may really get to go this time when we take our oldest DD back to college! :cool1:

Can't wait to see your report on Crystal Palace. I love that place, but it's been years since I've been inside.

I feel like I am right there with you guys! :goodvibes
I love meeting those cast members that are just so remarkable you remember them after your trip. :thumbsup2

a tangle with a tiger, tie-dyed cake, soda bottle fish... this is a bunch of grown-ups on here, isn't it? :rolleyes1

love seeing mk so peaceful in the am. can't wait to stroll main street myself.

Empty main street pictures is one of the reasons I like the before-park opening ADR at CP!
Kudos to Edwin for going above and beyond and taking some different shots! Looking forward to seeing those PP pictures!!

Hope your class wasn't too painful!

Oh the Magic Kingdom! A great way to start your first day at Disney :cloud9:

You seem to attract all the nice CMs, don't you guys? Hahahaha That was so nice of Edwin to take all those extra family photopass pictures. I totally agree about how they can make or break a trip. (: Those pictures must've come out nicely. ::yes::

Love the pictures of the empty main street, the perks of an early ADR. :goodvibes I need to reserve one of those Hehehehe

Awww... no Crystal Palace today ): Well, I'll guess it's supposed to add anticipation for the next chapter. Can't wait to read! :mickeyjum

Oh and I forgot to say earlier, Have an awesome time at camp (well hope the rest of the time you are there is awesome!)! They were very lucky to have that lovely tie-dye cake. Yum! ;)

Hope your SS workshop wasn't too painful today!
After 3 days of my conference, I am ready for a few more weeks of summer before my brain has to start working again! Chicago was great though, really loved it there.

I waved to you today when we flew over TN. Did you see me?? :rotfl:

Anita-can you text or post a picture of your jellyfish? Pretty please?:flower3:

Oh man, I'm sorry about your spill. I would stick with the tiger story. I always make up really grand stories when I do stuff like that (which is frequent).

I love CMs that take time with you. It makes things so special, and you're absolutely right, it makes things that much better on a trip. I hope the pictures turned out nicely.

great report and pics so far but of course what else would I expect from all of you. LOL

Glad to hear the damage from your trip was not so bad.

Very nice CM taking the photos. It is things like that that make you happy for your trip.

So lucky that you got the room already. :thumbsup2

Last day of camp. So much to do to get ready for tonight's spaghetti supper.
Gotta make the spaghetti, for one thing. I am also making a carrot cake, an 'Ohana pineapple bread pudding, a fruit cocktail cake (since I just happen to have some leftover fruit cocktail), and a chocolate pudding dessert - the one with a graham cracker crust and a cream cheese/Eagle Brand layer. I have to get the fridge and freezer cleaned out and the shelves cleared. We have to leave the camp foodless when we go.

Hold your napkins on that Crystal Palace breakfast. We really ate there on a Saturday morning, so we will 'pretend eat' there on a Saturday morning - tomorrow. I had good intentions for today, but there is just too much to do. I apologize.

A story from yesterday to make you feel better about whatever your house looks like today, if you happen to be thinking it's a mess:

One of Drew's friends from down the street called him and said she saw a policeman in our driveway yesterday. He called Trent to see if he was here to find out what was going on. Trent was not and knew nothing. He told me about it when I came in last night. I didn't have a clue, but it sure had me wondering.

When I checked my e-mail a while later, my backyard neighbor had sent me a message. She didn't have my cell phone number, but had my e-mail through a project our schools had done together. Anyway, she said that our back door had been open, and the police were trying to locate us to see if there was a problem. Our back door doesn't catch sometimes, so I guess it just blew open when Drew left, because he didn't lock it.

The neighbor said the policeman came in and walked around to check things out. :scared1:
The :scared1: part is that he couldn't have picked a worse day in the whole year to come into this house! Downstairs, there are half boxes of candy bars, cases of water and canned drinks, a pile of clothes that were pulled out of the dryer and left to be folded when I get the time, a long extension cord that one of the boys was using for who knows what, and as always, assorted tools and bicycle parts. The kitchen table was covered with jars and cans of spaghetti sauce and spaghetti noodles, pudding boxes, Eagle Brand, two days of mail I hadn't gotten to, a Bruce shark that I ordered from ebay, and an empty plate Trent left sitting there. The sink was filled to the brim with dishes. There was a box in the middle of the floor with today's canteen items, and there were three overripe bananas that I am keeping to make banana bread this weekend. Two pink jellyfish for school were hanging from the edge of the table. It was an eclectic mess!

If he checked on the AKL bathroom, all was well there. :thumbsup2

I feel the need to call and thank the nice policeman today and invite him back to take a look at the house after I have a chance to clean it up. :goodvibes There is no telling what he thought about this place!!!

I felt so badly about what that poor guy thought about the people living here. I immediately started cleaning and called Drew to tell him to be sure and ALWAYS lock the door when he leaves.

The moral of the story is, if you have a messy house, be sure to lock your door before you leave. :thumbsup2

Have a fabulous Friday, friends!
Crystal Palace pictures tomorrow.
Keep that napkin going, LL!

Stace208, of course I saw you waving as you went over. :)

TCKK and Scott, good to see you both here.

Later, everyone!

Oh no!! I wouldn't want a policeman going through my house most of the time. It is usually "neatly" organized in piles of stuff. :scared1:

I'm glad everything was okay though, that can be scary but it's nice to know that the police were there to check everything out even when you aren't around. :thumbsup2

Oh, MeMom!!! I am sure the house didn't look nearly as bad as you thought it did! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I would have reacted the exact same way afterwards, though, and started to clean. ;)

Scary about the door not being locked, but thank goodness the police officer came and checked things out and all was well.

Good luck with your last day of camp!

Those Photopass pics should be awesome! What a great CM! :thumbsup2

I am anxious to have my first "empty" MK moment...only a couple months to go...:)

I was wondering if you can pick which annual pass characters you get?
How many different ones are there?
We are excitted to have them for the first time. :goodvibes

Can you get the Tables in Wonderland card anytime?

I'm glad it was just an open door at your place yesterday.
Try not to feel so embarassed, he probably didn't even think it was all that bad.
I think it is great that someone cared enough to make sure you and the guys were all right.

My DMom felt the same way the day she fell off the bike.
A neighbour brought her home and it was probably the worst my house has looked all year.
She had swamped out the backroom and had stuff everywhere.
It didn't help matters because the lady has the nicest house on the street.
You know the one that could be in a Arcitectural (sp?) Digest magazine...
The neighbour was very sweet and I was just glad my DMom was alright but to my mother...she will never forget the embarrasement.

Enjoy the last day of camp! Seems like this week flew by.

You'll have to put up the fruit cocktail cake recipe. Sounds delish!

Why is it that our houses always look their messiest at unexpected times like those? It seems like when my house is spotless, no one is around to see it except my family who immediately works at making it looked more "lived in". It sounds like you have some good neighbors, though. At least now you know you have people watching out for your house when you are gone. :thumbsup2

Have a great last day at camp! I've never been to 'Ohana (got to change that!), but I'd like a some pineapple bread pudding please! :goodvibes

Well, there's something to say about your neighborhood and the observant nature of your backyard neighbor. I'm glad that nothing was amiss, and know that the policeman has probably seen a whole lot worse!

You are a cooking machine! I would love to sample any of the offerings you've presented this week! I hope that the kids appreciate all of your hard work!

I'm 100% certain that police officer didn't think a thing about your house. We have several family members in law enforcement and you wouldn't believe the stories they tell of what they see.

Just a little story to make you feel better.... The neighbors we had at our first home were crack heads. It was a nice neighborhood, they were the odd balls. But seriously, they were on every kind of drug out there. Well, one day we saw their 2 year old daughter almost get hit by a car in the middle of the busy highway that was in front of our house. We ran out and grabbed her and took her home. We knocked and knocked and knocked, but no one came to the door. The door was cracked open so my DH walked in and started calling for them. That house was the most awful thing I have ever seen. There was not one inch of flooring that could be seen. The kitchen was covered in dirty dishes and rotten, molded food. They had 4 German Shepard dogs and 2 cats living in there with them and they had been doing ALL their "business" on the floor for quite some time. There were also dirty diapers laying everywhere. The smell took our breath away. They were even growing pot right there in the house. We found the parents passed out in the bedroom. They had no idea that the little girl had even left the house. We called the police b/c we couldn't get them to stay awake and be coherent. The officer that came acted like that was nothing new to him at all. He didn't even flinch at what he saw. So, my point is, I'm certain that your house looked like a spotless palace to that officer! Don't let it worry you at all!

Oh my MeMom! Bless your heart! Why is that when your house looks the worse, that's when someone stop by or in your case, the police come knocking!

Good luck with everything today! I think it is so nice that you do all this. :)
