Last day of camp. So much to do to get ready for tonight's spaghetti supper.
Gotta make the spaghetti, for one thing. I am also making a carrot cake, an 'Ohana pineapple bread pudding, a fruit cocktail cake (since I just happen to have some leftover fruit cocktail), and a chocolate pudding dessert - the one with a graham cracker crust and a cream cheese/Eagle Brand layer. I have to get the fridge and freezer cleaned out and the shelves cleared. We have to leave the camp foodless when we go.
Hold your napkins on that Crystal Palace breakfast. We really ate there on a Saturday morning, so we will 'pretend eat' there on a Saturday morning - tomorrow. I had good intentions for today, but there is just too much to do. I apologize.
A story from yesterday to make you feel better about whatever your house looks like today, if you happen to be thinking it's a mess:
One of Drew's friends from down the street called him and said she saw a policeman in our driveway yesterday. He called Trent to see if he was here to find out what was going on. Trent was not and knew nothing. He told me about it when I came in last night. I didn't have a clue, but it sure had me wondering.
When I checked my e-mail a while later, my backyard neighbor had sent me a message. She didn't have my cell phone number, but had my e-mail through a project our schools had done together. Anyway, she said that our back door had been open, and the police were trying to locate us to see if there was a problem. Our back door doesn't catch sometimes, so I guess it just blew open when Drew left, because he didn't lock it.
The neighbor said the policeman came in and walked around to check things out.
The

part is that he couldn't have picked a worse day in the whole year to come into this house! Downstairs, there are half boxes of candy bars, cases of water and canned drinks, a pile of clothes that were pulled out of the dryer and left to be folded when I get the time, a long extension cord that one of the boys was using for who knows what, and as always, assorted tools and bicycle parts. The kitchen table was covered with jars and cans of spaghetti sauce and spaghetti noodles, pudding boxes, Eagle Brand, two days of mail I hadn't gotten to, a Bruce shark that I ordered from ebay, and an empty plate Trent left sitting there. The sink was filled to the brim with dishes. There was a box in the middle of the floor with today's canteen items, and there were three overripe bananas that I am keeping to make banana bread this weekend. Two pink jellyfish for school were hanging from the edge of the table.

It was an eclectic mess!
If he checked on the AKL bathroom, all was well there.
I feel the need to call and thank the nice policeman today and invite him back to take a look at the house after I have a chance to clean it up.

There is no telling what he thought about this place!!!
I felt so badly about what that poor guy thought about the people living here. I immediately started cleaning and called Drew to tell him to be sure and ALWAYS lock the door when he leaves.
The moral of the story is, if you have a messy house, be sure to lock your door before you leave.
Have a fabulous Friday, friends!
Crystal Palace pictures tomorrow.
Keep that napkin going, LL!
Stace208, of course I saw you waving as you went over.
TCKK and Scott, good to see you both here.
Later, everyone!
