Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Christine-glad to hear that your mom's surgery went well and she is recovering nicely!:goodvibes

Love the DTD pictures! I have a fountain picture somewhere... I also have a picture of the tourist lego family, I think... They are definitely still there but changed up a bit. I loved all the new Lego sculptures and the design of the Lego store now. Much easier to deal with now for we frequent Lego store shoppers.

I did get to eat some Earl on this trip (Ellie doesn't like it:scared1: so we buy her a hot dog from the stand outside). We got drenched on our DTD afternoon so we didn't get to do much shopping. Unfortunately we never made it back this trip either. I think that means I get a do over too, right??;)

Absolutely love the tie dye cake! I will have to try that.
Before I even read your ideas, I had planned on doing some Nemo in my classroom this year too. Last year I had Toy Story outside my room (Rounding up a great class) and the kids all decorated cowboy hats. This year another teacher gave me some under the sea name plates and border so I was going to do Nemo! Great minds think alike!

Chicago is the place to be this summer! I am going on Sunday with some people from school for a conference. We won't have much time but I am excited to see what I can!!

Ellie doesn't even like grilled cheese or PBJ from Earl? Wowser! She's the frist person I have ever heard of not liking Earl. Buuut, I may need to try her hot dog stand, because I have not had a dog from there. :thumbsup2

Do-overs for everyone! :dance3: I would meet you in DTD this afternoon to get started ont hat, but there's the little matter of camp starting. Plus I have no money for a plane ticket.

We'll get back to DTD eventually. I hope to carve out a little time for it in October, though it won't be much. There's already too much little girl fun to pack into our few days.

Show me how your Nemo stuff comes out. I got some blow up fish yesterday and made a couple of jellyfish with styrofoam balls, paint, streamers, and ribbon. I was telling Wigd by text that I really want to put the bottom of a boat on my ceiling! :goodvibes

Your cake looks yummy! The girls and I made rainbow cupcakes for St. Patrick's day that turned out really neat, but making layered cupcakes was a bit tedious. I like the idea of a cake much better!

Yes, I think a cake would be a lot quicker than individual cupcakes, but you know how kids do love cupcakes.

Love Love Love the video, it is absolutely too stinking adorable. Those girls are just too precious and adorable.

Tink9721 - I'm glad your mom is doing alright! I'll think good thoughts for both of you over the next several weeks.

I sure miss my girls. After being with them every day on a trip, it is hard to not have them around.

MeMom -- Loved the Downtown Disney update!!!! EoS is soooo yummy! I can't wait until September to have another Hawaiian BBQ sandwich!!! :lovestruc

The girls are sooo adorable! I love their matching outfits!!! And of course that video was sooo stinkin cute!!!! I watched it over & over :thumbsup2

I feel the same way -- I love DTD and WS but don't feel like we're ever there long enough!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Christine -- Just sent you a message on FB because at that time, I hadn't read past the post when you announced your mom's surgery. Now I've read MeMom & your updates -- soooo glad everything went well with the surgery! I will still keep you both in my thoughts & prayers for a speedy recovery!!! Please let her know all of your DIS friends are thinking of her!!!

So glad you liked the video. I am glad I just happened to be taping at the time and caught it.

I don't know if there is ever enough time to devote to World Showcase - with all the shopping, museums and displays, rides, movies, etc. - I could spend days and days just going though the countries and doing and seeing every little thing.

The Cake looks yummy! Can't wait for another update! :)

I will try to do one this afternoon before I leave for camp, but no promises. Jill may be ready to put up some of her arrival day pictures, if she has time today.

So glad you tried the cake recipe. It looks very cool!

I love strolling around DTD. And you've put an item on my shopping list with those wood (or maybe they are plastic made to look like wood) plates.

Love EoS but also want to try Wolfgang Puck Express. Decisions, decisions.

I think they were really wood, but don't hold me to that. I think I did pick up a plate at some point.

WPE is good, too. Maybe get a little of each and share with family and friends?

Yeay for Earl and DtD! All those new Lego creations are very cool! Love the Maleficent dragon!

The cake looks delicious!!! Can I convince you to come down to Georgia and bake Chelsea's b-day cake for tomorrow? She wants a round red velvet -- hopefully it is easier than last year's round cake was for me to do.

You know you will make the perfect birthday cake for Chelsea. I told her Happy Birthday on Facebook a little earlier. I am sure she is snoozing away right now, though. :)

:goodvibes :thumbsup2

I hope this one is still there in October! I love my Maleficent.

He loves my computer. In fact, he's somehow managed to make the tool bar disappear and I can't figure out to get it back!

Hello, Seth!
You'll have to let him start pointing out smileys now! ::yes:: The girls love to do that and then see them in action.

I'm guessing those statues will be there for a long while, wouldn't you think? I mean, there had to be a lot of work put into them, so hopefully they will stay put for a long time

I know that you are one of the people who does remember regularly where all of this Disneymania started. :)

:cool1: Yay a new TR! Can't wait to hear about all of your adventures....even though I'm recouping from an accident/concussion & I'm not supposed to be on the computer at all :rolleyes1

So sorry to hear of your troubles! Maybe you can just peek in here and there, but don't overdo anything. You'll have to fill us in on the details when you are able.

Thank you everyone! :goodvibes

You had/have lots of people thinking of you this week.

Good luck with camp this week! The cake should be a big hit with everyone! Looks very yummy!

I've never been to the Ocala Walmart, we usually make a stop in Kissimee.
This trip we will be make a stop after SeaWorld on our Day 2.
I have to Google locations to see if there are any on route.
Gotta get bananas and snacks...and we always find a souvenier or two.
I love any Walmart that has a Disney section in it! :goodvibes

I wish I was in DTD!
Great pic of the fountain....my DMom always marvels at it and hopes one day to copy it.
Yipee! Shopping pics!
I just put the muffin tray and those wooden plates on my list.
I wonder if Lexi would still let me put those "cute" princess hair bows in her hair.
I vow to try EoS this trip somehow.... somewhere.
We have plans to sample something at TRex and Planet Hollywood on the first night.
The new Lego statues are so cool! I'm saving those as a surprize for Lexi..she doesn't play with Lego but loves to see the creations.
One of my goals this trip is to discover more of DTD.

Did you like the hotel at DTD? The pool sure looks nice!

I am so apreciative to Walt for having his vision and for all of the people who have had a hand it making his dream come true.
That kind of magic doesn't just happen....I'm so grateful there is a place that my family can go and all have a great time!

Tink 9721I'm so glad your DMom made it through the surgery well and I wish her a speedy recovery.

Where did this morning go...I gotta hustle and make a grocery run before work tonight.
Have a great weekend all! :)

For tonight's dessert, I have tie-dyed cake, brownies, and banana pudding.

If your mom creates that fountain at your house, she has to come to my house and make one for me. I love it!

Don't pass the muffin tray up, like I did. ;) I thought about, then thought I could do without it, of course, then when I got home thought of other ways it could be used - like for Rice Krispie treats. I will probably get it in October. :thumbsup2

Walt's the greatest. :worship: Wonder if he had ANY idea how his innoventions (like how I worked that in there??) would filter down through the generations and help families play together and stay together?

DD peeked over my shoulder and saw the pic of the tye dye cake and her face went like this:  She turns 8 next Saturday and was seriously considering having this for her birthday cake.

I hope you have a marvelous time at camp MeMom and I look forward to hearing from you when you get back!!

I don't think he could know the far-reaching affect he would have on so many people. I'm sure glad he did what he did. And I like that I read good things about him. I don't know that there is a tell all book about a bunch of skeletons in his closet or about any behind the scenes craziness, is there? I think he was just a good guy.

Let us see your birthday cake, whatever you end up making.

Here we call it a Crab Walk! But don't know if thats a technical term either:confused3
I'm in, a little late, for another trip report!!
I did start a TR its called "Is TODAY the day Dad? A July TR", hope u'll stop by!
Can't wait to hear/see more about ur trip!

I call it a crab walk, too, but I htought that was just a common name. I figured there was a proper gymnastics name for it. I actually was pretty decent crabwalker when I was little. I won some races on field days doing the crab walk. I was light and fast back then. ;)

I'm loving the new trip report and the merchandise pictures! Get's me excited for my trip in 18 days! :goodvibes

Lucky you! I'll be back in school then, so your life will be much happier than mine! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh, that looks so good! Can I have some? Hahahaha :goodvibes

I'm serving it at camp tonight, so come on over!

Please people: stop quoting that cake picture! I am DYING here wanting it!
Now I'm going to have to go back and find the recipe and get the stuff to make it! Jeez. You guys are torturing me!

If I add in a few pans of brownies and some banana pudding, does that add to the torture? :upsidedow

Just come on up to camp tonight and have all you want. :flower3:

Yum, yum!!! Did I miss the recipe? Would you mind posting it MeMom? My kids would LOVE it. :)

No recipe for the cake. I used a boxed white cake and divided it into five bowls. I colored it, swirled it, and baked it. I put foil on the top from the beginning so it wouldn't brown and baked it at 325 instead of 350. I think it turned out to be very pretty.

I'm joining in!!

I can't believe how big the girls are getting, they are growing up way too fast. Super cute as always.

I always say I am going to bring down a small fan when I travel, I have to have the sound of a fan going to help me sleep well. I was thinking of just buying one of the small clip ones and clipping it to the headboard of my bed next trip.

Can't wait to hear how the rest of the trip unfolds. :thumbsup2

I actually did think of that, because with SW allowing both Brooklynn and I to have two suitcases, I would have room for a small fan. It would have to be middle-sized, though, not just the teeny tiny ones. There should be plenty of room for one of those. I know that having the box fan sure did help me on this trip! ::yes::

I think I have enough time to at least get us on Pop premises this morning, but it won't be much.

This is Black Pearl, our guide wherever we go.

disneysummmmer082.jpg

She tells us where to go and how long it will take to get there, and she recalculates a lot. ;)

I hope Jill has a better picture of this.

disneysummmmer083.jpg

disneysummmmer084.jpg

Good morning, Pop Century Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida!

disneysummmmer086.jpg

Black Pearl says it like this - 'Buu-wenna Vista'.

Judy checked us in.

disneysummmmer087.jpg

She told us they had us in two separate buildings, but she fixed that right away.

Nice Judy. :)

A picture of my good friend, Donald, on my AP.

disneysummmmer088.jpg

Notice he is not scowling.
He is so happy about all the fun I am going to have with this pass.

I cannot express to you how much I love this place and how much I love the first moments of a trip. I suspect most of you know, though, and feel the same.

disneysummmmer089.jpg

Our rooms were ready, even though it was first thing in the morning and Judy had just gotten them for us.

Nice again. :thumbsup2

disneysummmmer091.jpg

We were on the lake side of the Tramp building - second floor.

disneysummmmer092.jpg

Look what is happening across the lake.

disneysummmmer093.jpg

A cool (but very expensive) value resort is going up. :upsidedow

We wasted no time putting a few bags in the room and then going back toward the bus stop.

disneysummmmer094.jpg

We had an 8:10 (I think) ADR at Crystal Palace.

disneysummmmer095.jpg

Okay, that is it. I have much, much, much to do, but I am happier right now just seeing those pictures again. :cool1:

Have a beautiful Sunday, all!

I love John's shirt. I have quite a few of those soda shirts myself.

I was thinking that if we fly Southwest I could fit a medium sized fan myself. I actually have one in my cubicle at work so I could probably just bring that and it would work well. I'm going to add that to my packing list ASAP so I don't forget about it when it comes time to take out those suitcases.

Ah, my favorite view! We've been in that same area many times! Makes me want to go now, but not enough to brave the heat and crowds!

I'm here!!!! Great updates so far! THANK YOU for the Disney babies picture! I now know how much money to save so that I can add to my collection! The girls are beyond adorable, as always! I might need the recipe for the tie dye cake ;)

That is a great view from Pop. I'll have to make a note so I can request it next time. I'd love to stay at Art of Animation (is that what it's called?), but the prices are astronomical for a value! I'll just walk over from Pop until they bring the price down or offer discounts.

I am so impressed with how you checked into Pop and got to MK for an 8:10 AdR. It is a struggle for us to get to RD! The last 2 trips we were always between 5-10 minutes after. Still low crowds, but I'm going to have to rededicate ourselves to getting there at actual RD.

Wow, Judy really worked her magic!! Great that you could get in your rooms!! :thumbsup2

Yay for your rooms being ready so early!! Can't wait to hear about Crystal Palace - we got an 8:10 ADR there too for our trip!

We had a very similar view when we were at Pop for our one night in March! Except it was raining most of the time...

I'm homesick looking at your Pop pictures...

I wish I was there right now!!! :wizard: Oh fairy godmother, where are you??? :rotfl:

Ok I knew when I looked at the other report & there were no posts since 7/15 that a new TR was started!! Now I have to catch up...

I checked in and was like 8 or 9 pages behind but I ran to catch up! Love the video and downtown disney. I went to little mismatched in NYC and a pair of socks was like $12 so I walked out...lol. Hope its more reasonable in DTD though I have doubts. Glad you got such an early morning start and your room at POP! yaa!

Thank you for sharing the first moments at POP!

It's very excitting to walk in and know your trip is ahead of you.
I always feel sorry for the ones leaving...they look so sad.

Glad that Judy could get you two rooms together and they were ready too! :thumbsup2

I love to walk into a fresh & clean room...that hasn't been "lived in" yet.
You had a nice location.

I really hope we get a Lady & the Tramp building this time. :wizard:

Yummy desserts you are serving tonight at camp! Lucky kids!
Wish I lived closer...I could wash some dishes for a taste.
How many kids do you have to feed at camp?

Ok all caught up-phew!!

Love the pics of the girls in the introduction.:thumbsup2

I do see Mickey ears in the clouds.

I also bring a fan with me. I cannot sleep without one now. Well I guess if I was tired enough I might. I make sure I have enough room in my suitcase for it.

Great job on the tie-dyed cake MeMom. It is making me hungry!!

That is great that your rooms were ready so early!!:thumbsup2

That is so funny about Bella wanting to go eat when you checked in.:rotfl: That girl knows where the food is.

Sorry to hear about Trent & Tanya. I thought they had a great thing going. You never know he could find his love when he least expects it. Don't give up on him yet.

Oh, I totally know what you mean about the Pop feeling! :goodvibes
A part of the reason we're going back there again is because I saw pictures from your TR's and realized how much I missed the place! (And I'm sure my mom is very happy because I saved her a couple hundreds by switching from POR.. :rolleyes1 )

I need the help of my "crazy internet friends". My cousins are going to Disney next month for their first trip. It will be Kristianna, Joe, and their two kids Annabella (5yrs) and Gabe (14 months).

I am going to send Bella a special package with things for her first trip. What things should I include?? I'm making a trip to DTD later this week (oh the joys of living close to Disney :goodvibes ) to pick some things up so any suggestions are welcome for both Bella and Gabe.

Thanks Much!!!!!
