Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

Okay, that cake looks yummy!!!!

Love the DTD pictures! The new lego statues are so cool!! Hollie is gonna love the Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs!!

Yeah!!! Off to a fun start! I love your trip reports. I am going in september and I can hardly wait so this report will help get me through until then!

A quick check in before I leave to start another day of cooking mass quantities of food. This morning, we'll have eggs, biscuits, sausage, ham, cereal, donuts, bananas, peaches, and cinnamon toast. For lunch - sandwiches, chips, fruit cocktail, and cookies. Dinner is chicken, mashed potatoes, shells and cheese, corn, green beans, salad, applesauce, and rolls.

Hello to all 'old' DIS friends, and welcome to all new readers or those just chiming in after reading for a while. I apologize for the mass reply this morning. Any other week, there would be individual replies. We definitely want you to stick around and get to know us and to make other good DIS friends here.

I will miss reading all of your reports this week, so I will look forward to catching up this weekend. My best to each of you as you go through your week of birthday parties, baseball games, going to the movies, hanging out with friends at the pool, grocery shopping, being at VBS, taking classes, going to work, recovering from illnesses and injuries, going on trips, and all the million things you all will be doing. Some of you will start the dreaded school supply/clothing shopping. Anyway, whatever you are up to this week that I will miss out on, I hope it goes well or is fun, and I hope you have safe travels as you come and go. I really do enjoy keeping in touch with my DIS friends. :)

I enjoy sitting at the various tables getting to know the individual campers as we eat. Last night I found myself sitting beside the daughter of a girl who went to school with Jill and Brandy. She was a lively girl, and she talked about how annoying it was to have little sisters who bothered her things. It was fun just to listen to her, as she was telling this to another girl who was the younger of two sisters. She informed her that since she was the younger sister, she was probably annoying to her big sister. The sister is also at camp, so they went and asked her to confirm or deny the 'annoying' factor. The sister confirmed - yes, little sisters are annoying. ;) The younger sister wasn't offended, though. She just laughed. They were really just having fun and not purposely being hurtful. It was interesting to listen to them and talk with them and get to know them better. I was happy to hear they loved their meal of tacos, nachos, rice, red jello, and salad. :thumbsup2

That's it for now. I really must run, even though I am enjoying starting my day visiting with you guys. Have a magical day!!!

I think I will come join the campers for breakfast and humorous conversation, MeMom! My stomach just rumbled reading that there was going to be cinnamon toast, and I laughed out loud reading the conversation about sisters. I am sure Chelsea would say that also applies to younger brothers. LOL!

Good luck with camp this week! :goodvibes

I have yet to be brave enough to tackle camp. Our camp is always about 2 hours away from church so you go and stay overnight for the whole week. I just can't imagine myself sleeping on a bunk house with 40 giggling/arguing girls all week! I stick to VBS! That way I get to go home and sleep in my own bed each night! ;) But like you, we are the "cooks" for VBS. I really enjoyed it though. Our theme was NYC and I had a good time coming up with the themed menu for that each night. It turned out awesome!

Hope you have fun at camp this week. It makes all the hard work worth it when you see kids "getting it" as the week goes on!

Hope you have a great week at camp! My parents are coming back from Scotland on Friday so I might have some pictures to share if my dad gets them up on Facebook. He already has some up so I can't wait to see the rest. My mom found him a couple days ago shouting lines from "A Christmas Carol" out the window (they're on the fifth floor of their hotel), so if you hear about some crazy American getting arrested in Scotland, it is probably my dad. He also had a cab driver ask his name, and when he told him, the driver said that he was a Campbell and he was pretty sure there was bad blood between clans. I really can't wait to hear any other crazy stories!

That a lot of cooking!!!! And planning and preparing!!! Good luck with all of that! You are a saint!

Tooo funny about the sisters finding each other "annoying".....:rotfl: Here's my house: "__________ (insert name) stop bothering your sister!" :lovestruc

There's nothing like the first moments of a trip! :lovestruc They are the exact opposite of the last moments of a trip. :sad2:

Yay for Judy and your rooms being ready! :thumbsup2 The pics of your room made me very nostalgic for our Halloween trip last year when we stayed at Pop. We had connecting rooms with our very good friends and we have many pictures of that room view of us sitting at that table...we had a lot of good times just hanging out there in their room and the kids played in our room (the connecting one). :cloud9:

Oh my! That cake looks YUM!!

Have a great week at camp! They're so very lucky to have you!! :goodvibes

I'm here, I'm here! I've been a badddd, bad DISer and haven't been on here in about 3 weeks! So, even though I'm 18 pages late, I'm here :goodvibes I saw your NY DIS friends shout out, hopefully I'm one of them! :thumbsup2

Looks like you guys had a great room location at Pop, very peaceful. They're making some good progress across the lake!

The first moments of a new trip are indescribable. Chris and I already cannot wait to be back there. We're planning things for our Disneymoon and I have a countdown on my phone for it...467 days!

Oh and I love the video of how the report got it's name! Too cute!! Lauren's little guy Jake called the flamingos "mangos" and that's what it reminded me of. :goodvibes

Better late than never, I always say. Your TR is on it's way to a good start and of course shopping pictures are always a plus! ;) I love the tie dye cake! SO creative!!
Have fun at camp!

Hey MeMom...

DD decided on an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen so we won't be attempting the cupcakes for the birthday party this weekend. So we won't have a picture of that. I thought these might be good in their place.

Here are a couple of pics of the chocolate dipped strawberries with caramel that we made as a Disney fix.

Oh my goodness! Officially drooling on my computer keyboard....

I'm Nutty for Nemo!!!

We had to strip our walls for painting at the end of the year. Well the budget ran dry, the painting didn't get done...
We have to put stuff back up and they will paint sometime this year.

There is no way I'm going to put up all of my Toy Story stuff to take it back down.
I had thought about Nemo, it could hang from the ceiling! When we were in Chicago at Shedd Aquarium I fell in love the the plush jelly fish but they were $30 each. I just couldn't justify the cost. I pouted and said "no Nemo".
Well, then MeMom, and Stacy started....
MeMom texted me a picture of her jellyfish, and I started looking on ebay to see what else I could find. The hunt was on. Ideas are being shared and copied...:rolleyes1
Classrooms are going to be awesome this year if I do say so myself!

Good morning, all!

Last night's chicken dinner was devoured. This morning, we'll see how the campers feels about chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, oatmeal, eggs, and toast. I always put out cereal and Pop-tarts, too, and fruit. Most kids are light eaters in the mornings, especially when they are being made to wake up out of a comatose state after going hard all day and staying up too late giggling and being silly (and making wonderful camp memories) the night before.

So, let's talk about my cat.
And the big carpet burn on my face.

When I got up this morning, I stood up ever so slowly, because it takes me a minute to get upright in the mornings. I'm a sight when I first get up - shuffling my way all bent over across the room until my joints come to life. Jill will confirm this for you. My cat decided it would be funny to jump off the bed in front of me and test my reflexes. One face plant later, my forehead and nose are cherry red with the little clear liquid/blood mix that you guys are familiar with, especially if you have kids who 'skin' knees and elbows frequently.

I am now the camp cook who looks like maybe I got in a fight with someone who didn't like the food or something.

Tomorrow, I have to go to a workshop for school. I will be the teacher that everyone glances at, then does a retake, then wonders how a grown woman ends up with a scraped up face.

Maybe I'll make up a story about being a hero.
Let's see, the neighborhood was in extreme danger from a....let's say a wild tiger on the loose from the zoo.
Yeah, that's it.
And the tiger....
And the people...
And then I....

Oh yeah, I've got it all figured out now. ::yes::

Hope you guys have a great day!

Wigd, your jellyfish are awesome. Seems like a bunch of us will be teaching from under the sea this year. Nemo happened to be on when I came home last night. I would have watched the end of it, but I crashed.

I've never had or heard of those before, they look AMAZING!!!

Oh, no! That darn cat! :headache: Hope your face feels better soon!

I think the tiger story could be really spectacular!

Connor and I watched Finding Nemo last night -- we just couldn't resist. LOL!

Have another great day making yummy food at camp!

Sorry to hear about your accident this morning! I hope your scrapes heal quickly.

Have an amazing day! :goodvibes
