Mingos in the Watah! What in the Wuhld?

So sorry about the loss of your friend's father

On a brighter note, have an awesome trip with Brooklynn!!

I am so sorry to hear this. Prayers and good thoughts to the family.

Have a wonderful, magical and fantastic trip! I hope you are able to "disappear" into our happy place for a short time and just forget about all the worries and cares in the real world. ENJOY!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

I hope so, too. I need to not think about paperwork and deadlines and lists and scores for a few days.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend's dad and Kay's brother. My thoughts are with both of their families and I wish Kay's brother a speedy recovery.

My grandpa passed away last week. It was relatively quick but was definitely seemed more like a relief than tragedy. He was a wonderful man whom I miss dearly.

I hope you and Brooklynn have a wonderful trip! It sounds like you could use a nice break, so enjoy it! I cannot wait to see the pictures. :goodvibes

Rachel

The surgery seems to have gone well. :thumbsup2 He has a very long road to recovery, but in the beginning, they were afraid he was paralyzed, so anything now is much better than that.

Sorry to hear about your granddad. That's the way I felt when my older grandmother died. She had been in a nursing home for a long time and had said so many times she wished she could just go to sleep and not wake up.

The zoom on my camera is getting a little weary. I am taking Jill's as a back-up, just in case it decides to fizzle completely.

Memom, firstly i am sorry that you have close family friends that are suffering right now. It's never nice to see people you love upset .On a brighter note though, i wish you and your darling grandaughter a magical, wonderful time, and hope you make some precious memories that will stay with the both of you forever. Jill, i hope your photo day goes ok. I have had the delights of days like that, but for only about forty little one's.Each one comes to preschool with instructions from their Mums that they want their hair brushing in a certain way, outfits changing etc..:rotfl:Also, just keeping the other kids clean who are waiting for their turn . We never put out paints, playdough, glue activities while photo's were going on. One blob of paint and that's the whole outfit ruined.!I hope your day goes well!

I will be in a school leadership meeting today at funeral time. My mind will be on my friends. I really wanted to go to the funeral, but I visited last night instead. We have to wrap up our nine weeks grades today and have them locked in, and I have to be in this meeting. They will be focused only on their immediate family today anyway, so it's not like I would really even see them. I will be with them in spirit. :)

Just wanted to wish you a wonderful trip with Brooklynn! When we were there 2 years ago we had plans to visit Epcot one afternoon after dtd. It was drizzling and only my dd and dgs wanted to go. She wasn't a driver on either car so I finally said I would go even though I was tired. It was so much fun and later looking at photopass pictures my grandson told me it was his "dream come true, just mom and me and him." He had a wonderful time without his 2 younger sisters and he could do what he wanted. I think you should make it a point to be in at least one picture with Brooklynn. Get one first thing while your hair still looks great.:thumbsup2

I second that .... Safe Trip. I do believe the Firshouse was closed when I went. I did look over there but I did read they were closing but I thought they would relocate the merchandise. :confused3

Counting down in minutes now I believe. :yay:

Leaving for the airport! See ya soon MeMom, Brooklynn and friends! Pop here we come!

We will have a great time. When I was almost to Nashville today, the words 'Can I think about Disney World now?' popped right out of my mouth. I didn't plan to say that, but it just jumped out! It was crazy!

I hope Brooklynn is old enough now that she will remember it when she is older. I will try to suck it up and take a picture. Even first thing in the morning, we're not gonna get a 'great' with the hair!

Have a wonderful trip!!! :goodvibes

Yes ma'am. :thumbsup2

What a beautiful sight that is! :goodvibes

Dawn, Brandy, and the boys got there last night. She texted that they put them in the 90's way, way out, and they called and asked if they had anything else. She said they very kindly put them in the 50's, but she didn't say what building.

I think it was supposed to close just within days after we left.
I bet they do have some of the merchandise somewhere, though.

Have such a fun time, MeMom and Brooklynn!!! :wizard:

Thanks. We're getting ready to turn in early, since we have to be up early.

Leaving for the airport! See ya soon MeMom, Brooklynn and friends! Pop here we come!

See you there!

Have a fun and magical trip.:goodvibes

Watch for pictures. I will send them to Jill, and she will put them on FB.

Sorry, I have not been here very much the last couple of weeks. Life has gotten in the way. Nothing bad, just really, really busy. I am going back to catch up. I hope that you have a wonderful trip.

I am doing my bi-monthly check in:thumbsup2

I hate that I'm so behind. Mostly, I'm so sorry about your friends Dad. Thier famly is lucky to have you as a friend. I will say a prayer for them and you!

Not sure if you all are going to try to go to the zoo's halloween thing. It is SO much fun. We are going Sat, Oct 22 - hint... hint...:rotfl2:

I hope you have a magical trip with Brooklyn. Can't wait to hear all about it.

I know you probably won't see this before you go, but I just wanted to chime in on the whole "I look terrible in pictures" thing.

I used to think that I was too fat to be in the pictures. I took them instead. I'd see myself in a picture and all I could see were fat thighs, bulging belly, round face... You get the idea.
But someone (a DISer) pointed out that this is who I am. This is the person my kids see and love. Why would I deprive them of the memories we are making together by not being in the pictures? Someday they'd look at them and say, why isn't Mom in any pictures? She always took them. I figured someday, they'd want to see the whole family in some pictures. (Thank goodness for photopass photographers!) So I decided to suck it up and get some good family shots. I still don't like myself in a lot of them, but I've stopped caring. This is me. Good, bad, fat, bad hair, crooked smile, whatever. My kids don't care, why should i?

I'm not going to tell anyone what to do, or how to feel about themselves, but just offering another perspective.

That said, now go have an AWESOME time and make some memories!!!!

Busy for everyone. We understand. Jill used the coupons toward the girls' Halloween costumes, in case we haven't told you. They were much appreciated. :)

Hope you enjoy catching up on the report. Unless Jill gets the chance to do any updates in the next few days, there will be a lull in the action.

We just went last week, and on the heels of a Disney trip, I am guessing that we won't be doing another zoo trip. I hope your zoo day is as nice as ours was. The weather was great. They had started putting up a few lights, but the big Halloween stuff wasn't out yet.

The Wildlife on Wheels program came to our school this week. They brought a hissing cockroach, a hyacinth macaw, and a boa constrictor. They told us that one of those giraffes is going to be delivering a baby any day now, so be on the lookout for information about that when you go.

Since sleep wasn't a big part of my evening, I did see this. ;) I'll try to get in a picture or two, but I won't like what I look like. I'll do it so my grandkids can have a faint memory of what I looked like. I'm sure their parents/my children will tell them of the sacrifice I made to have those pictures made. :upsidedow

*********************************************

In usual fashion, Kay arrived about four hours behind schedule last night. By the time I went out to the driveway when we heard the car door, she had gone from driver's side to back passenger's side and had managed to lose her keys. Our girls were already asleep, of course, so Breanna was not happy about not getting to play with them.

I have my hair rolled and my make-up on, so the last few things can now go into the suitcase and we can load the car. We're flying out of Birmingham, since Jill said those were the best flight prices this time. She checked us in yesterday morning, so we're ready to roll.

I may or may not make it home from the trip alive. Brooklynn has been known to cover my mouth and nose when I begin to snore. I wake up gasping for breath as she is smiling at me. :scared1: That's if she's in a good mood. If she is trying to fall asleep watching a Disney movie, she says in an agitated voice, "MeMom, stop it. I can't hear!"

Here's a crazy coincidence about this trip that I just learned yesterday. One of Kay's brothers is going to be in Disney World with his two kids, and she hasn't seen him in almost two years. (Her family is spread out all over the country.) They are staying at POR. I am so excited that she will get to see them. Her brother's wife died several years ago from cancer, and he has been on his own with the kids - a boy and girl set of twins. I think they are young teens now, but I will have to ask her. I remember her saying that he really took it hard the first year. I hope they have a wonderful time getting away and having fun, and I hope Kay gets to spend all the time she wants with them.

Everyone is still asleep here for now, but that will change soon. The house will slowly and quietly awaken in the next hour, and we will roll things out to the car in the dark. We were supposed to do this before dark yesterday, but Kay's delay sort of threw a kink in those works.

I still don't think it has hit me. Part of it is because I don't have my whole crew going, so I can't let myself be completely happy. I am sad to be leaving Jill and Bella behind. The thought of Bella's face when she wakes up and discovers that we are gone is not one that makes me happy. I will miss my big girl, too, and the laughter we always share on these girl trips. She made the executive decision not to go, though, due to work and finances. She wanted to try the beach trip, so she did, and she decided that it really wasn't her thing. She said it really helped John, too, as he discovered that a beach trip was nowhere near as good as a Disney trip both financially and in the availability of things to do. I am glad that it will only be two and a half months before we will all be going again.

Anyway, it's time to pack up the 'puter and say goodbye. Jill will FB update and do it here, too, I am sure. It's time to play 'Guess the Building', so lay your bets on where we will end up at Pop Cenchy. The only two buildings I have not stayed in are Lady and Mowgli and Baloo, so I'll hope for either of those. I think a lot of both of those buildings are preferred, though, so I won't count on it.

You guys have a great weekend!

Have an absolutely magical time with Brooklyn, MeMom, and I sincerely hope she doesn't suffocate you in the middle of the night!

Looking forward to FB pics of all the fun!

Oh no, I hope there is no suffocation on this trip. Just tell Brooklynn that will really throw a kinks in the plans if you aren't able to breathe. :rotfl2:

Have a fantastic trip! :wizard:
