My husband is currently deployed and our son will be 5 at the end of April. My birthday happens to be in April as well. I was planning on taking my son to Disneyland April 3-7 or 4-8. The middle to end of the month is to hectic for us so we have to go the first week in April. So how bad will the Spring Break crowds be? Also we are on a military budget so whats the best way to go: take advantage of the play for 5 pay for 3 and stay at one of the Good Neighbor hotels that is offering the 4th night free or book tickets and hotel separately with military discounts? Also I need tips on the closest budget friendly hotel to the Disneyland entrance(plan on walking), airfare discount tips, and opinions on renting a car or using shuttle service. I know we can get a shuttle from and to the airport and if we're in walking distance of the park do I need a rental car? I know I'm asking a lot, but I hope some of you experts can help! Thanks in advance!

Just checking back. Hopefully some of you experts will find time to respond later. Thanks!

Hello fellow military wife!! And April trip sounds great! Spring Break should be over for just about everyone by the week or two after Easter, so you should not have too many issues with crowds by the time you go, unless you get a bunch of conventions.

I think the pay for 3 get two free is a great deal! However, the regular 5 day hoppers with a military discount were cheaper for us by about $10 for an adult ticket, but the child's price was cheaper going through the disney site, which was odd. If you can get the military tickets and the entertainment rate at HOJO, you would probably come out pretty good, and I don't think you would have trouble walking back and forth, I believe they also have the ART shuttle that runs if you and ds are too exhausted. As long as you are so close to the parks I don't think you would actually need a rental car. I can't give you a lot of airfare advice since we don't fly alot. I usually just try to get the best military discount I can.
