Military Ticket Questions

I have a few questions about the military tickets that are available for Disney. I see through Mousesavers that there is a special Military Salute ticket available, but there isn't much information or cost. I beleive I read that the tickets can be purchased at the base.

I have a friend in the navy. Could he purchase the tickets for me and let me use them without him being there? ie: I wanted to go to MK, but he wanted to stay at the hotel.

How much are the Military Salute tickets

There is a lot of info available on the Military Salute tickets. They are only good until Sept. 30:

They renewed the deal it's about 158 for 4 day park hoppers. Your friend must be at Disney world with you to activate them the first time but after that you can use them as you will. He can only buy 6 per year and there are blackout dates.

I never heard that rule until recently and we were never told that when buying them. I do see that it is a rule though.

You can enjoy the parks without that person though once the tickets are activated. My Mom had a day left on hers and used it last week and we weren't there.

Wow. I had no clue things were so different. I really never knew the rules though either, just did what they let us do.

Guess I need to re-evaluate our December plans... I think my family will be buying their own tickets so I can get my own Salute 6 or 7 day ticket.
