military ticket question

My husband heard some rumors flying around at work that the armed forces salute tickets expire seven days from the date of purchase. I've read the release from Disney and understand the tickets to be good through Dec 19. I haven't seen anything about a certain time frame that you have to use them in except by Dec. Can anyone confirm this for me? I'm assuming if we buy them this weekend we can use a couple days now and the rest in August. Thanks for any help!
