Military ticket question

Do the regular discounted Magic your way Military tickets have to be activated? If not, that's a way to get that trip. It is a more expensive ticket than the Military Salute, but still cheaper than the discounters because they have tax included in them.

Technically, yes, everyone who will use the tickets is supposed to be present to activate them at the ticket booths. Most of us will bend that rule a little if someone's spouse is stuck in the bag check line or taking the kids to the bathroom or something like that, but we're supposed to see X people if we're activating X number of tickets. Again, I don't know what Shades of Green does.

I don't scan MBs to activate Salute tickets even if they're already linked, but some CMs do. Personally, I find it a hassle to have a big group of people all trying to align their bands properly on the scanner. I swipe each paper certificate, pull up the MDE that it's linked to, and assign a plastic card to each person, then activate the certificates from there. It sounds like a longer process, but it's really not, and it works better for me. To be honest, though, I see a lot more Salute certs that aren't linked to MDE at all.

Thanks! I have't taken the vouchers with me since mb were avilable. CMs always just ask everyone to take the MB and hand them to them for activation.

Only salute tickets need activation.

Yeah, if folks don't have their certificates then I don't have a choice - but we're really not supposed to ask you to take your MBs off and hand them to us. (Plenty of us still do, but our managers don't like it.)

We purchased Stars and Stripes tickets from SOG last year and those did not need to be activated.(we had them sent to us by Fed Ex) However, we purchased a Salute ticket for my one son because he could only stay for 4 days and his did need to be activated.

We are going in June and have 5 Salute tickets for my grand children and their parents. My wife and I have APs so we don't need them. I have already bought the and I have them in hand right now.

This is what is printed on the front:

EXCHANGE CERTIFICATE

-on the back-

This is not a ticket. This exchange certificate is not valid for admission and requires redemption at one of the ticket sales locations listed on the reverse side prior to entrance.

We have used these several times over the years and have always had to activate them. We are staying at Shades in June and they have not offered to mail us tickets beforehand.
