Military Salute Ticket

In June we activated 5 Salute tickets for our daughter's family - 3 grandsons, daughter and her husband. We will be in Disney again and we would like to get two more and activate them - for our daughter-in-law and granddaughter. I know the rules say you can only activate 6 during a year, but I've also heard that Disney makes an exception for direct family members. Has anyone had experience with that? TIA.

I believe that they're talking about a family of military member, spouse, and several children. Like if a couple have 5 children they would need 7 salute tickets. I don't think it includes in-laws and grandchildren. Check out militarydisneytips.com for accurate info.

It's what totallytigger said. You might could call and see if you can make your case to a castmember, but it's very unlikely. Checking with your military base ITT may get you a still-discounted ticket for the remainder even if it's not a salute ticket.

Just wanted to point out, ONE of the six tickets has to be used by the military sponsor or his/her spouse, so at this point, it seems only you or your husband can use the remaining ticket.

The one exception to that is if you have an AP which we do.

You are all out of military salute tickets to activate this year. Since you already activated 5 we are AP too and never heard that exception. The only expection I ever heard was for direct family member aka kids(dependents)not grown adult children. If you go to the website you can read the fine print.

Uh, nope. We are Disneyland AP holders and have activated 4 tickets for family this year and they told us we only have one more left unless me or my DH uses it. They do keep track of this. There is no exception for AP holders.

I need more than 6 Armed Forces Salute Tickets during this offer what can I do?
The policy at Disney ticket booths has always been that exceptions should be made for immediate families larger than six people.

Disney will allow you to buy and use enough tickets for your entire immediate family.

For example, if a family has five children, Disney will allow all members of the family to purchase the 4-Day Disney Armed Forces Salute Tickets (for Mom, Dad, and the 5 kids).

Disney defines immediate family as: Dependent Children!

Grand children, adult children, and extended family do not qualify.

Military ticket resellers may not allow you to buy more than 6 tickets.

If you do not fall under this exception, then you can still purchase the regular military discounted Magic Your Way Tickets from your base ticket office or Shades of Green. For those staying on Disney World property, Shades of Green also sells their all inclusive, length of stay Stars and Stripes Passes.
