Military park tickets

I just got really confused. I thought the best option for getting park tickets was Shades of Green but I just read they don’t send them before 60 days out. Which isn’t good for fast passes. And I’ve heard some bases aren’t that easy to get tickets also. Help!!

Yes, you are confused. If you are staying at SoG they will send you the ticket order form about 45 days out, since you can't make FP until 30 days out when staying at SoG (and I believe you don't pay shipping fee). If you aren't staying at SoG you can order the tickets at any time, pay a $10 fed-ex shipping fee and get the tickets whenever you want. I ordered Salute tickets from SoG about two months ago and our trip is in a month.

You can also order from some bases. We've ordered from Camp Pendleton I believe as we don't live close to a base with a ticket office. We got the tix months in advance. Plenty of time for FP. It is my understanding now that tix from SOG don't need to be activated like ones bought on base (salute tix). Even if you order from a base you can still make FP with salute tix that need to be activated at guest services.

I ordered from Shades of Green. Got the tickets in plenty of time to do fast passes. We are staying onsite. It was really easy. They send actual tickets. No need to go to the gate to activate.

DD bought our tickets on base both times. The first time she ordered them and it took about a week for them to come in. This trip she is at a larger base, tickets were ordered Tuesday and came in on Thursday. I know the local reserve base also can order military tickets.
