Military Discount Tickets

So, now that DL has "extended" this offer of $99 3-day park hopper tix for military members, does this mean that if you bought the 6 tix last fiscal year (between Oct 1, 2010 and Sept 30, 2011) that you can buy 6 MORE tix for THIS fiscal year (between Oct 1, 2011 and Sept 30, 2012)?

I'm just not sure if "extended" differs from "new offer for this year" as we'd love to take advantage of this offer again THIS year since we used the offer LAST year in November 2010.

Any help clarifying would be greatly appreciated!

Yes....the offer now says that you can buy up to 12 tickets. So fantastic! You can't purchase, activate or use more than 6 tickets in one week. But like you, we used 6 of these last November. And can use 6 more of them again this November. Woohoo! Here is the official info:

Can anyone confirm that you can actually purchase these at DLR? We don't have a base near us here in Indiana.

Unfortunately they can NOT be purchased at DLR - only at a military base location and then activated (with the military member present in person) at DLR

However, Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach is only 20 miles from Disneyland and has an MWR location where you can purchase the $99 military tix. Their number is: 562-626-6006

Thanks Steph! We are visiting relatives in San Diego first, so I am sure we will be able to work something out there too.

Funny, I posted about the Military 3-Day park hopper a couple of weeks ago, and some people on the board said that you *could* buy them at the ticket booths at DLR. Sounds like there is conflicting information about this.

I will say that if you are buying on base, don't expect to walk out with tickets in hand. My in-laws just bought some, but they had to place the order and then wait several days for the e-mail vouchers to be delivered. They were able to do the entire transaction via telephone and email (they called the base, gave credit card info over the phone, and then the vouchers were sent via email). So you don't necessarily need to be at the base itself to purchase.

These tickets cannot be purchased at DLR. They must be purchased at a MWR or an ITT office.

As LisaT just mentioned, there have been multiple first-hand reports on this site (from reputable sources I might add) that you can purchase the military tickets directly at the Disneyland ticket booths. So the previous posters are incorrect, you do not have to buy them at a MWR or ITT office.

Lisa, I thought I had heard that too! Now I am worried that they are not immediate at the base either. I need to get to work on this! Think maybe I will call Disney first.

The Military Salute tickets (the $99 3-day Park Hoppers) CAN be purchased at Disneyland. My husband and I bought them at the DLR gate for our trip in April.

We actually had no choice but to buy them at the gate, as it was a spontaneous trip (decided less than a week before we went), and the ITT/MWR office on base required us to purchase tickets at least 2 weeks before the trip (so they could have time to get the vouchers in hand to give to us).

It's the regular military discount tickets (the non-Armed Forces Salute discount tickets) - the ones that are available all the time, regardless of whether Disney is running the Armed Forces Salute program - that have to be bought on base because those are run by ITT/MWR.

The Armed Forces Salute is a program run by Disney, not by individual base MWR/ITT offices, and so Disney can (and is!) selling the Armed Forces Salute tickets at the gate.

From mousesavers.com:

How to Get the Tickets

You can pre-purchase the tickets at a military base (MWR/ITT office) or buy them at a Disneyland ticket booth.

Rules

The military member (or spouse) who purchased the tickets must be present with military ID in hand when the tickets are used.

These tickets are for active or retired members of the US military, including the National Guard, Reservists and the US Coast Guard, with a valid military ID card. Dept of Defense (CIA, FBI, Secret Service) and Coalition Forces are excluded.

No more than six Disney Military Promotional Tickets may be purchased by any Eligible Service Member or spouse (regardless of the place of purchase and whether purchased by that person or that person's spouse), and all six must be purchased at the same time.

The tickets may be upgraded to Annual Passes, with credit toward the upgrade based on the actual price paid. No other upgrades, such as adding additional days, will be available.

Tickets must be used by the same person on any and all days.

This offer may not be combined with any other offer.

Where to Ask Questions

If you have questions about this promotion, I strongly recommend that you call your local base MWR/ITT directly and ask them.
