Military Discount 2022??

I am being vague on purpose.

I normally do not provide this type of information.

I have been in contact with someone who is knowledgeable on tickets and they said the mil tix will be released on Nov 16th.

I consider this person honest and reliable.

Between what MDT posted and my source, we are right on the edge of having the tickets being made available.
Any chance the room discounts are released on the same day?

We have a basic package and I thought we'd get the salute tickets. But my DH and BIL are nervous about buying non-refundable tickets. Can we add tickets to our basic package and then make a decision before our final payment is due? How long does it take to get the salute tickets from SOG if we do decide to switch? Can we move our park reservations from one ticket to the other if we switch? From how park availability looks a month out from now, I would think we'd be safe at 30 days out, right?

Does anyone know how much room discounts would be offered on value resorts?
I'm sure it depends on dates, but they had nothing property wide for Presidents Day Week.

Early August I was quoted 15% off Movies, 17% off POR and I believe around 28% off of Boardwalk.

Definitely not impressive to us. We'll most likely be staying at Shades if we stick with Disney throughout the year.

Did you call? Are the lines busy? I asked my TA to try to get us a discount and haven't heard anything back. Kicking myself for using a TA again. I'm much too type A, but it's a friend and I wanted to throw her some business.

I called this morning...probably about a half hr wait for me.

I was able to select a low priced week and get a 25 15 percent discount..........in that regard I feel pretty lucky.

Edited later in the day to correct the percent off

3/31 to 4/7 at A/S Music Std Room -- 1107.55 with tax

As the MDT piece talks about....the discount can vary widely.

I need quick help.

We were able to add a military discount to our room but they're saying we have to pay in full now? Rather than 30 days before like originally with the basic package.

No, they're wrong...you don't need to pay in full until 30 days prior for a package...5 days for a room only.

That's what I thought. I'm going through the TA via txt so I'm not sure I got the whole conversation!

Apparently they said if we added tickets onto our basic package at this time, we'd have to pay in full. But just adding the military discount didn't trigger that. So we just left of the tickets still and will make the decision between salute tickets (nonrefundable) and standard (refundable) tickets sometime before our 30 days.

We did get a great discount though! $1000 off each room from our original price with an upgrade to Garden/woods view. Really hoping my BIL (who's the actual military guy) and family do not bail on us, because our reservation will be more expensive if they don't come - Back to the non-discounted price but now for a more expensive room. Yikes!

I'm also confused why they had to upgrade us though, since there are still standard rooms available at the Beach Club.

I don't know the answers to all of your questions, but it can take 10-14 days to get tickets from SOG. Right now they are probably pretty busy with the new announcement, so might take a bit longer. You first fill out the order form and they will typically call you within a few days to complete the order. Then they ship the tickets and that can take a week or so. They also usually ship them FedEx with a signature required delivery which can be a pain if you work outside the home and nobody is typically home during the delivery time. To be safe, I'd figure on two weeks to get them although it could be quicker than that.

The way I understand the room discount is they only provide a certain number of rooms with the discount. It really doesn't have anything to do with availability. They just offer a certain number and type of rooms and resorts and once those are gone, that's it.

They "had" to upgrade you because they're being VERY limited on what they're giving a military discount on. Also, if you're not getting tix through Disney then you don't need a package and it should be a room only booking in which you can cancel for full refund at 5 days prior and total balance not due until you check- in.

When I called yesterday only getting a room with military discount the lady automatically put me on a package, but when she was reading through when my final payment and cancelation wasI noticed and told her I didn't have or want a package... she then went and changed it, but it makes me wonder if they're pushing "packages."

Oh I thought the basics package allows you to cancel with no fee up to 30 days before hand, but the room only you have to pay in full and there's a cancellation fee immediately. Interesting!
