Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

It's been a hot minute since I've been to WDW, but I just decided it was time to return and Pop has always been a preferred resort for me so when I saw the discounts I decided to book. Two questions I'm hoping someone can help me with...
1) I was only able to snag a room only discount, but was interested in the package deal with the 2 extra days. I can't remember, but don't they sometimes open up if someone cancels or they add rooms and then I can switch over to the other rate or am I not remembering correctly?
2) I'll be traveling with my adult daughter and we really don't like sharing a bed since we both are bed hogs. Is there a way to request the two queen beds? I couldn't see how to request that when booking but maybe I over looked it?
Sorry, I don’t have an answer to your first question but can say you will definitely have a room with 2 queen beds. There are only a small number of King rooms and they are in high demand so 99.99% chance you will have 2 queens. One is a regular bed and the other is a pull-down bed but mattresses are identical and equally as comfortable.

It wouldn’t hurt to add a request to your room reservation using the mde chat. While its rare, I was put in a king bed room while traveling with a friend. Since the hotel is always at capacity, it took them a while to find us a different room. I always have great luck with my mde requests.

Thank you! I've stayed at Pop many times and have had that type of room before, but was thrown when it wasn't something listed when making the reservation.
And I'll answer my own question, the reservations can open up because when I logged in this morning to look I was able to get one booked. 😊 Now to learn about all the new stuff! Last time I was at WDW was pre Covid even by a year or two and my last Disney anything was DLR 2 years ago and that is way different. 😂

How do I do that? I probably should know but I never needed to do it so the knowledge has left my brain.

So I was just reading a post on reddit about someone staying at pop and having a miserable time due to the connecting room noise. Lots of posters were casting pop in a negative light, which surprised me since we love it. We've never had a connecting room at pop, and have a trip coming up. Are they as bad as people say noise wise? Is pop pretty good at moving you to a non connecting room based on availability? I'm a super light sleeper even with a noise machine lol

Noise with a connecting room can happen at ANY Resort-not Pop specific in any way.

Having said that we have never had any major noise problems with a connecting room.

If it is a major concern make Non Connecting Room your only room request and you should have a great chance.

If you arrive and have a Connecting Room go to the Front Desk and nicely ask them to check again.

We had noisy neighbours once. I opened the connecting door and put a rolled up towel on the floor between the doors. It really helped.

We’ve had connecting doors on a handful of trips but rarely is it a problem but, we are also not light sleepers.

I have been staying at Pop since it opened. My first experience with a Connecting room many many years ago was not a good one. Since then I have always requested non connecting at Pop or any Disney resort actually making that my first request and haven't stayed in a connecting room at Disney since. Now I have been very fortunate at getting my request but if not I kindly ask for a non connecting room if available like @WEDWDW suggested. Yes I may have to wait longer for my room to be ready but I just love enjoying Pop and it's fun atmosphere I usually don't plan much on my arrival day. And I too am a light sleeper so a non connecting room is really important to me.
