OMG- the tank tops are amazing!
Thank you so much! So sweet of you.
ONTO THE FLOWERS:
On January 31st (Saturday) Jason and I went to Port Canaveral to meet with Maria at The Perfect Gift (the flower shop the famous DIS poster Shirley owns).
We went over everything Saturday (Jason of course didn't really care one way or another but I of course asked his opinion, which shocked Maria because most brides don't ask their grooms such things) including numbers and budget and despite me not really liking hypericum berries for my own wedding (I LOVE the idea of them for fall weddings but we're getting married on a beach in the caribbean in May) I said okay and agreed. I am NOT a pushover - I actually just thought I liked them there. But I came home, photoshoped everything together and hated it. The yellow of the bridesmaids dresses is hard to work with and I thought orange would look good for mostly the entire bridesmaid bouquet but when I put it together it was too "fruity" looking - lemons, oranges...kwim?
So I am not really a fan of purple like some purple, pink, what have you, freaks out there but I really love how this combo looked. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Yup, I'm nuts - I spent over 10 hours trying different combos, getting everything together, everything looking right, and I love this. I know it won't look like this exactly, but I know it'll look close in terms of the colors and textures...and of course the real deal will be more amazing!
I'm waiting for a new quote from her to see what my "beefing" up of everything will cost but I hope she works with me to get costs around the same.
(That ribbon is a hand dyed silk ribbon I'm going to get from a trimmings store in Manhattan my sister goes to a lot for her job (fashion industry).)
The groomsmen's bout.'s will look something like this with three Mokara Orchids:
But with the green seeded eucalyptus added in from here:
ETA: Here's the flowers we're using (for the most part):
So totals:
- 1 bridal bouquet
- 3 bridesmaids bouquets
- 5 groomsmens boutennaires (3 groomsmen, plus my dad and brother)
- 2 corsages (mothers...but I want to increase this to 4 if I can afford it for my 2 grandmothers that are coming b/c I know they'll love it)
Hmmm...I think that's it.
I know it's loud and funky but I like that. Especially b/c I think the wedding setting is so unique, sunny and fun.
