I am trying to plan a holiday for later summer 2007 for my husband and my mother in law, we are looking at the mid range disney hotel, obviously as there are three of us it proves a little more problematic, as I result I have a number of questions which maybe some of you guys can answer
1) Do any of the mid range disney resorts offer a room with no single room suppliment or a discount for single travellers?
2) Which mid range hotel do you recommend (personal favourite at the moment seem to be Port Orleans)
3) Has anyone stayed at Wilderness Lodge log Cabins - What do u think?

Thank you guys

Provided you don't book a package (with a UK operator), all US hotel rooms are charged by the room, not per person, so there will be no single person supplement. I'd suggest booking flights or a fly-drive, then booking your accommodation directly with Disney, or through an agent such as Dreams Unlimited.

Whilst I've visited most of the moderates and Fort Wilderness, I haven't stayed at any of them, so I'm not really in a position to comment on that aspect.

Have been to both Port Orleans Riverside (when was Dixie Landings) and French Quarter but have not been to the others so can't compare.

We liked the Port Orleans resorts though because we like to go to Downtown Disney (or crossroads) at night and you can take a boat from the hotel to DTD.

Have not stayed at the cabins in WDW but did stay at DLP and thought they were good.

Let us know what you decide.

POFQ is delightful, smaller and more intimate and atmospheric than the other Moderates, which are much larger.

The log cabins have never appealed to me - only one bathroom as well.

As Deb says hotels in the US charge by the room, so although there will be a supplement for a single person it will make the cost up to that of a room, whihc could accommodate up to 4 persons. We took DMIL to AKL in 2004 and paid the same for both rooms even though there was the two of us in our and just her in the other. Same applies to most brochures if you look at the extra night supplement it is the same as the single person hence the room is still the same price. As has been said about the cabins they would work out about the same as two mod rooms and there is only one bathroom.

As for mods we are staying at POFQ for the first time at New Year and we are looking forward to it :)
