Mid December trip planning. ????'S

I was going to take wheelchair bound 6 yr old to Disney over Xmas but many claimed it would be too busy.
We are now looking at Dec. 12-19 2002.
What's the weather like? Warm enough to swim in hotel pool/
Hotels?
Looking at Holiday Inn Maingate East -either one bedroom or kidsuite.... Quality Suites Maingate east - One bedroom.... stayed here last year and quite liked it. Quiet. or Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista Family suites.
Any suggestions?
Also anyonewho has stayed off site ... and used shuttles? Are the wheelchair accessible or should I rent a car?

we went to WDW a few years ago the second week of December.The weather was quite nice,kids used the pool almost everyday.The week started out in the 60's and ended in the 80's.The nights were a little cool but we still wore shorts just put a sweatshirt on.Cant help you with the hotels,we stay on site at the All-Stars.

My sister and family were at WDW form Dec13 -23 last year and we were there from the 15-27.

It was very hot from the 13th to 17th. We needed to cool off mid-day and it was definitely hot enough for the waterparks. It got cooler as time went on but we still swam up to the 23rd.

It was so neat to lay in the pool after dark 2 days before Christmas and think about how cold it would be at home.

We have also only stayed onsite but would like to try off-site sometime.

Be sure to check out our DISabilities board here. The weather can be very changeable that time of year. It may be warm enough to swim in a heated pool, but it can also get very cool, especially at night. I think you are right to go before Christmas however - it is one of the very best times to go. Light crowds, and all of the decorations are up.
